Family-friendly vacation rentals in Kona

So glad we picked this place for our family of 4. we really appreciated the beach chairs and boogie board, and the kids found plenty to watch on tv. Magic Sands beach is right across the street, with plenty of sand and powerful waves.

Marina's condo was exactly as listed and shown. It was clean with up dated amenities and in a great location! The pool and hot tub were clean and beautiful. Everyone in the area was very friendly and instructions for check in and out were very easy.

Great place close to Kailua-Kona downtown. Nice pool and jacuzzi to take advantage of if you plan on relaxing and don't feel like running around all day. We took advantage of the backpacks and chairs for our multiple outings to the beaches, volcano national park, and Mauna Kea. 100% as advertised. Perfect place for a couple.

This was a return trip to this Airbnb. We love this place. Great space. Lots of room. Great views. Hot tub etc. it is a quiet area and private. It is a short drive to anything that you are looking for. Definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful 7 day stay. Our 3 boys (16, 13, and 10) spent hours on the diving board and in the pool. Sandra’s place had everything we needed for beach trips, including beach chairs, wagon, umbrella, cooler and beach towels. I was so happy to have a washing machine to wash out the sandy towels and suits after our beach trips. It was a 5-10 minute trip for Costco,-target and Walmart and a 30-40 minute trip to Hāpuna Beach (don’t miss the Malsada stand on the highway on your way). We would come back to the house to cook supper, swim more in the pool, and watch the sunset from the beautiful yard. We also got a lot of use out of the basketball net in the driveway, and volleyball net in the side yard. Sandra was extremely helpful with all aspects of our stay, including local recommendations. Would definitely stay again if on the Big Island!

We had a great time in Michael’s condo. The complex itself could use a bit of updating, but the location of Michael’s unit and the lanai were amazing. Michael had clearly thought of everything guests might need. We made good use of the cooler, chairs, umbrella and boogie boards. We didn’t do serious cooking, but there was everything we could have wished for to accommodate our minimal prep breakfasts and dinners. Air conditioners in The bedroom and living room were great options for keeping things cool, but my preferred way was to keep the sliding doors to the lanai open and use the fans both in the lanai and in the living room area to keep cool air moving. The pool and hot tub were nice to have a few times over a week, but mostly we were in or near the ocean.

Our stay at this Airbnb was absolutely fantastic! The location was perfect—close to everything we wanted to explore and offering breathtaking sunsets each evening. The space itself was thoroughly comfortable, with well-appointed furnishings and incredibly cozy beds that made it easy to relax after a day of adventure. The real highlight, though, was the array of amenities and supplies available to us. From beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas to Pickleball and tennis rackets, everything we could possibly need for a fun and active stay was provided. It was such a treat to have easy access to everything, allowing us to make the most of our time. Whether we were lounging by the beach or enjoying some friendly competition on the courts, this place had it all. We would absolutely stay here again!

We felt so fortunate to spend our vacation at Yarden's beautiful apartment. The apartment was absolutely perfect for our family (4 adults and 1 baby)! The location to restaurants, shopping, markets, and gorgeous beaches was ideal. We were also very grateful for all of the amenities that were offered by the resort and all of the extra items Yarden provided (baby items, beach towels, chairs, umbrella, snorkeling gear, and coolers with ice packs). Our family loved eating on the beautiful lanai and watching for whales and dolphins. We highly recommend Yarden's lovely apartment!

Wonderful stay, very accommodating even for short trips!

This place is an amazing rental and i highly recommend. It's located just north of kona in a very quite and laid back atmosphere. Grocery store that is walkable from property. The rental also comes with a beach access and private cabanas that is just a short drive. Our favorite beaches are up in this area so the location is prefect. There wasn't one bug/roach on the pemises, which is very hard to achieve in hawaii, good job hosts. Our stay was amazing. beds are comfortable, amenities are all you need, spices and cooking utensils, layout of condo is great for small group/friends to just hang out and have fun. Pool and hot tub area are well maintained, and grounds are well cared and manicured. I will 100% look for this rental again next year when we come back. Thank you for an awesome week.

We adored staying in the Treetop getaway - I wish we could have stayed longer! The space was well-organized, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the outdoor seating was so lovely in the mornings! The beach gear that we borrowed for the day was amazing!! We felt so cozy and relaxed in this spot -- and the hosts are super friendly.

We had a great stay. Our kitty had a great time watching the birds and hunting for geckos. The location was perfect and the unit had everything we needed. Rosalba was the best host we have ever had, helping us out with a last minute change in our stay. She communicated with us regularly and everything was very clear. We stayed at this unit 3 years ago when we first landed on island. It was a perfect place for us as we waited to get our home to set up.

Genuinely fantastic. The location up on the mountan was lush, cool, and beautiful. It was everything we wanted. The house was large, open and comfortable. We loved listening to the coqui frogs at night. Really, I cannot overstate how absolutely lovely and peaceful the property is. There is a fantastic coffee plantation just around the corner, and we also enjoyed hiking the forest reserve trail nearby. Food, shopping, etc... is not actually far away either. The house is the perfect sweet spot. Coming back to the coolness of the mountain after the warmth of the coast every day was amazing.

Beautiful and peaceful location. Watch gorgeous sunsets with panaromic voews pf the ocean right from the deck! Great snorkeling close by if you're comfortable getting in from rocks. Private pool to enjoy when you've had enough salt water for the day.

Our family of five adults and two toddlers had a wonderful week staying in Susan’s beautiful home. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and many lovely places to gather. The kids loved the big yard and we all enjoyed the snorkeling gear, sand toys, coolers, and other beach amenities so kindly provided. We cooked meals in the large kitchen, played games, sat on the wrap around porch to watch the sunset over the ocean. We also really enjoyed the small village of Holualoa just up the road with its many galleries, charming shops, pop up bakery and coffee stand. There’s even a nice restaurant for drinks and or dinner.

Lorelle was there for us from the start, help to navigate, places to go… Always attentive to what we need. Beach towels and snorkeling gear is there and available to use.

Breathtaking view that was close to lots of things to do. Walking distance to a couple beaches.

Jan and Cami were very nice to deal with. Their condo is in an amazing location. They thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. Very well organized space. It was clean and inviting.

Paul was great, gave lots of suggestions and very responsive! Plan to return someday.

Vicki thought of everything with her rental. Super well stocked with kitchen appliances and utensils and beach towels, chairs, etc. Vicki even left us a bottle of wine and greeting card upon arrival. She was also very accommodating for our later check-out time. Some have mentioned road noise, but I barely noticed during the day and not at all after quiet time. Was lucky to meet Vicki and she’s just as nice in person! Highly recommend!

Part of a condo group, next to (unpretentious) Beaches restaurant - which locals stated was "the best in Kona" - and only steps away from Magic Sands Beach. View out the double wide slider was to clear ocean surf, full of yellow tang and black trigger fish visible in most swells. There is no A/C but the fans (there were 5 but we really only need the two large ceiling fans) kept it very comfortable.) This was April and daytime temperatures were low 80's. All in all a very nice place hanging out or as a home base. Great location for Kona and the beaches north. About .1 mile to La'aloa St, which takes you up to Hwy 11 (bypass highway for north or south travel. I recommend for a group of 2.

Joanne was really helpful and gave us lots of good recommendations and tips on planning. The condo is a walkable distance to lots of places and very clean and pretty :) This was our favorite stay in our hawaii visit

Loved the ocean view and proximity to restaurants, beaches, and town. Easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Unit size was perfect for my husband and I. We felt comfortable and safe. Host was great at communicating and was very accommodating.
