Cottage vacation rentals in Kill Devil Hills

This place was exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy Memorial Day weekend with friends! Clean, clutter free, and the hot tub was awesome for an early morning soak or late night kick back. About a 15 minute walk from the beach and located in a quiet neighborhood. Also, very short 1-minute drive to large grocery stores. The hosts were communicative and friendly. I would definitely stay here again if visiting OBX.

somewhere on the beach was the perfect beach house with out that overly "beach house" decor. it was tasteful and cleanly decorated. the outdoor areas were great. the pool is just the right size, the additional seating and outdoor lounge areas were great. The bedrooms had nice mattresses.

This place has it all! Nicely placed so it’s a quick 3-5 min walk to the downtown area and a quick 5 min walk to the beach. The pool and hot tub are clean and well maintained. Absolutely no worries about cleanliness. The house itself has so much and is an oasis to hang at away from the beach. We had two perfect beach days and one rainy day. Usually we’d go stir crazy on a rainy day and hunt for something to do, but the pool, hot tub and house kept us entertained. Only regret is we didn’t book a longer stay, but next time we will! We had an excellent stay as a group of 8 adults. The home offered great access to a semi-private beach, just a short 5-minute walk away. Kendra was proactive and clear with her instructions, making check-in and our overall experience smooth and stress-free. The neighborhood was very quiet, providing a relaxing atmosphere, yet still conveniently located with shops just a short drive away. After long days at the beach, the hot tub was a refreshing bonus. This home is perfect for both families and adult groups—highly recommended!

My friends and I absolutely loved our stay here. The patio is incredible, it goes up above the roof where you can see the ocean. The walk to the beach is short, but you do either have to use stairs or go up a steep hill to access it. That was fine for us, but could see it being a challenge for the less able bodied. The surrounding neighborhood is cute and is very quiet which we appreciated, and is nearby to a lot of great restaurants. It’s not very walkable but very quick drive to anything you need. Only negative was we thought there would be bikes but there weren’t any (as far as we could find) but that was ok, we still had a great time! We would definitely stay again.

We had such an amazing time here! She was quick to respond and the place was beautiful! The backyard was perfect for our toddler to play in and I really appreciated that there was a baby gate for upstairs. We will definitely be coming back!

Amy’s place was a dream 💙 Such a charming cottage and perfect fenced yard for our pup too. The home and outside spaces were sparkling clean, and had everything we needed and more! We enjoyed the short walks to the beach, sitting on the front deck with our dog, and a soak in the hot tub after long days of local explorations. Amy is an incredible host, and we look forward to returning in the future!

So glad this listing was available definitely exceeded my expectations. It’s hard to find a home so accommodating to the fur babies. I was floored walking into a clean home fully stocked with all the amenities plus. It was like staying in a hotel with the feeling of being at home. Hands down the best beach stay ever totally recommend and hopefully I get that chance to visit again.

We really enjoyed staying at Chad’s place. It was very clean and comfortable and we felt like we were in a tree house with all the beautiful trees outside the windows. We loved the porches and the close proximity to restaurants and the beach. Chad was very friendly and responsive. We definitely will be staying again.

We had an amazing time! The house was incredible and so close to the beach. It was also extremely clean! We will definitely be back - loved how close the house was to everything, especially the coffee shop!

Great location, only a five minute walk to the beach and you can hear the waves while sitting on the top deck. The house had everything we needed. It was perfectly decorated and very comfortable for lounging after the day's adventures. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our family with dogs, and included a picnic table next to the grill which was perfect for seafood eating. Bikes were great and many other beach necessities for the summer months. Brian provided very detailed instructions and suggestions for restaurants and more. Great place!

This cottage was SO cute. It is in a good location with a very short walk across the street. The street is not super busy because it’s not the main busy road going through town. The cottage was clean, comfortable beds, shower amenities provided and even coffee pods. Sarah was SO nice and responsive to questions we had. We would stay here again.

We had a great stay. The house was great and in a great location. It was an easy walk to the beach and a great location. There was a pier close and lots of things to do. I would definitely recommend it to others and hope to go back there again.

The SeaShed was absolutely amazing. The house was in pristine shape, very cozy and the decor is so beautiful. The location is so easy to find, and its a 5-8 min walk from the boat dock and the other side you can walk to the beach.... My kids and I felt like home, Rene is a great host, very friendly, she supplied a lot of the essentials for the stay, she was very helpful if we needed anything, supplied indoor and outdoor activities and beach chairs, etc..... I highly recommend staying and best believe we will be back. My kids loved the SeaShed and the OBX.

This is my second time staying at one of Michaela’s properties & we will plan to again! She is an excellent host who puts so much care in to every detail. Just when you think you may have forgotten something handy, she already has it stocked for you to make things easy (beach gear, chip bag clips, ziplocks… these little things that other Airbnbs just don’t take the care to have on hand). Not only was the house exceptionally clean, she also had little touches like stocking the den with games and children’s books by a local author/illustrator which our son loved! Her recommendations were great and allowed us to enjoy OBX without any need for pre-planning. Michaela is a responsive, thoughtful, and kind host and we are thrilled to have spent another summer at one of her spots.

The cutest house to stay in! It was so nice and up to date, also very open with high ceilings which I loved! It was perfect for my husband, 2 kids and mother and father in law to stay in. Obviously it’s not on the beach(which it states), but it is not far! We loved it and would stay again! It is right off the main strip so it’s near a bunch of restaurants, grocery stores etc. we would stay again! Thanks for hosting us!

My husband, puppy dog, and myself had an amazing stay! This place was precisely what we needed and the perfect size for the three of us for our stay. Amazing central location that wasn’t too far from other areas to visit like duck, Nags head, Manteo, etc. and the washer/dryer was a great touch! Thank you for opening up your home to us!

We had an amazing stay at Katie's cottage! The cottage was cozy, clean, and in a fantastic location. It's tucked slightly away from the main drag, offering a private feel and is a quick drive to the beach. It's also conveniently located down the street from Nags Head Woods Preserve, where we enjoyed a long hike. Katie's on-site guidebook led us to several local restaurants, coffee shops and Jennette's Pier where we saw about a dozen manta rays! Finally, Katie was incredibly accommodating when we decided to extend our trip by a day. Overall she is such a sweet and a fantastic host. We would absolutely stay at Katie's again, and can't recommend her cottage enough!

Wright Salty is an amazing house. The house is spotless. At rentals, I don’t use drawers to store my stuff, especially in the bathroom, but everything was so squeaky clean I unpacked everything. The furniture is very nice and really comfortable. The location is perfect, a short walk to the beach, ocean view, quiet neighborhood with lovely neighbors, and close to everything. Travis is a great host. He was responsive and accommodating. I’m in the process of booking Wright Salty again in September. I can’t wait to return!

Our stay at Glorious Days could not have been better. The home was immaculate, and everything we needed and wanted was provided. Katherine was extremely responsive and receptive to our needs. I never write reviews, but this place stood out, and we will not stay anywhere else in OBX. Glorious Days is now our home away from home.
