Stayed at Dawn’s cottage over New Year to escape the fireworks with our sound sensitive dog, if you’re looking for something similar this is absolutely the place for you! I’ve never been anywhere as remote as this in the most brilliant way possible. Cottage is exactly as described cozy and welcoming and very easy to make yourself at home. Our dog settled in immediately which he doesn’t always! The courtyard can be made enclosed and there are some awesome woodland walks straight from the doorstep. Unfortunately we got some horrendous weather but the cottage was comfy enough to stay in all day. We did however get one night of perfectly clear skies, I’ve never seen so many stars and we even saw the Aurora! Take note of Dawn’s navigation instructions and you shouldn’t have any issues but also note remote means very remote! Make sure you take plenty of supplies as there is no popping to the shop for milk. Dawn was on hand and very responsive with messages if we needed anything.

This house is definitely off the grid and fulfilled exactly what we were looking for. It was beautiful, clean and warm whilst being remote and the dark sky at night was amazing. I swam everyday in the private swimming lake which was wonderful and really made the stay for me. The bed was comfortable and huge and we really were able to relax and recharge! Jo was responsive and helpful when we struggled a bit with the log burner. Once we knew the knack it was brilliant and so homely. The Wi-Fi was good and so was the mobile signal so we could keep in touch with family if needed!

Fantastic place to stay with absolutely everything you need to just land and relex. Amazling log burning stove, full Internet access with Smart TV, kitchen had everything and more, beds very comfortable, beautiful surroundings, comfortable furniture. This was a last minute booking and we only intended on staying one night, hoever due to the heavy snow we ended up having to stay another night as our car couldnt make it through the snow. Sam (host) helped me dig the road out and get the car to the main road, provided us with milk and tea and even logs for our fire to keep us warm and accommodated us for another night until we were able to get home after the snow had passed. She most definitely went the exta mile and more. Highly recommended for a vist here and this will now become our go to cottage for a quite escape and weekends away. 100 out of 10 for service
