Kihachikan South Nozawa Onsen

Kihachikan South is a luxurious and homely family chalet. It has three bedrooms; one double, one twin and one smaller single room. The light filled, open plan kitchen and living room features a locally made oak kitchen that includes a Miele oven and induction hob and Miele dishwasher. The kitchen is fully supplied with all the main amenities including; a rice cooker, toaster, microwave, coffee machine and full cooking utensils should they be required. The comfy sofa seating area focusses around a cast iron pellet stove and the latest Bang & Olufsen television and sound system including live feed from the ski hills and Netflix. The daily readings from the traditional barograph will keep you ahead of the weather apps …….. possibly! The bedrooms maintain a traditional feel with shoji windows, wooden beams and authentic wall coverings with the addition of discreet blinds, wooden flooring and western style beds. The bedroom wardrobes in Japanese oak were made to order in Nagano. The bathrooms include walk in showers with locally made hinoki shower benches. The upstairs bathroom with both slate and wooden flooring also contains a separate seating area and large bath tub. The upstairs bathroom enjoys great views over to Togari and Mount Myoko. Dyson hair dryers are supplied in the two main bedrooms. The artwork throughout the Kihachikan South is a mixture of original Japanese woodblock prints and an extensive collection of original 16th & 17th century antique maps of Asia. Kihachikan South has a Miele washing machine and separate Miele clothes dryer.The ski, board and boot room is downstairs and shared with Kihachikan North and contains snow shoes for guest use (when available).

Access from the Tokyo area is excellent.It is 10 minutes by car from Saku-Minami Interchange on the Kanetsu Expressway and 20 minutes by car from Sakudaira Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen. Although it is in a convenient location, when you step into the Uguisu forest, there is a different world where you can hear only birds in the dense forest. A supermarket and convenience store are also a short drive away.There are many delicious and reasonable restaurants nearby, and it is a convenient location for sightseeing because you can get to Karuizawa and Komoro in about 30 minutes. There is also Spa Resort Sanpia Onsen at the entrance of the villa area, and there are many day-use hot springs nearby, so you can enjoy visiting the hot springs.It is also conveniently located as a base for outdoor sports such as skiing, trekking, mountain climbing, and golf. We have renovated a small wooden hut by woods. It stands on a plateau area over 1,000m elevation. When I was a child, my one of a dream was building my secret place like this by myself. And the dream had come true at last! I hope you remember your childhood memory and feel wooden warmth by handmade in beautiful nature. This is a best area for hiking in forests and visiting beautiful lakes. The hut is good size to stay for a couple and a family or single.
