The soft light and shadows that fall from the atrium quietly tell the story of the lifestyle of the Kyomachiya over more than a century. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, recommended for travelers who want to live and experience Kyoto like a local. The entire Motomachi house is for rent. You will not share any spaces with other guests. You can enjoy a private and peaceful time with just your family or friends. Some of the walls in the house were renovated by us using DIY methods. The interior furnishings and decorations are also carefully selected and arranged by us. Antique stained glass, Isamu Noguchi-designed washi lamps, and a large bed room with Simmons mattresses and Muji bedding. The bedding in the tatami room is based on the feedback from previous guests, and thicker mattresses have been specially prepared. We hope you can rest more comfortably and have a pleasant stay. Every detail is designed to make guests feel the warmth and peace of home, and quietly experience the unique atmosphere of Kyoto.

A spacious living area is presented with a comfortable sofa and a low coffee table. Floor cushions are arranged on warm wooden flooring, and bright light filters through a sliding door leading to an outdoor space. A wall-mounted television is visible for entertainment.

About maki's retreat Bus stop is a 3-min walk.Direct access to Kyoto station. A house on a quiet street a little ways from the busy downtown area. You can go sightseeing a lot and relax at the inn. Each of the two bedrooms is separate. It's private. We can have fun together in the living room. Highly recommended for families and groups. Not only Kyoto, but also as a base for sightseeing in Osaka and Nara. There are many stylish cafes and restaurants nearby. We're here to help you have the best stay possible.
