Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Kaipara District

I enjoyed my stay at Alan & Patricias house. I stayed for 5 nights and it was a good base to have; very homely, clean and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. Shared bathroom and showers, but it felt seamless to share the facilities. I would recommend it to friends and family traveling to Whangarei to stay at Alan & Patricias house.

We felt immediately at home in Kim’s beautiful place. We were warmly welcomed by Kim and Finny and shown to our fabulous room, bathroom and lounge and invited to use the lovely pool or relax on the deck with some nibbles and drinks. We were blown away by the absolute beauty of the property and surrounds and Kim’s hospitality. Loved everything about our stay at Kahu Retreat and very highly recommend it to others. A hidden gem and well worth the drive there

We had an absolutely gorgeous stay at this property. I wish we were there for more than one night! The hosts were so friendly and we were blown away by the beautiful surroundings and comfort of our cottage. Everything was perfectly clean and we felt right at home. The views, especially from the shared pool and spa area are unbeatable. We also loved feeding the sheep who live on the property! I highly recommend booking as it was one of the highlights of our 3-weeks in New Zealand.

The cabin was a great part of an already incredible weekend trip. I had my doubts about needing to spend the night only 2 hours outside of my home in Auckland, but with all of the incredible stops and sights along the way it was perfect. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and got great advice about the local area. Don't let it fool you, everything about the space is very functional and practical, it feels a lot bigger than it looks. Enjoy a hot shower with great water pressure then sit on the porch and watch a beautiful crisp night sky above you. In the morning you can admire as curious sheep and cows watch you eat some toast out front. The location is incredibly picturesque and has certainly tempted me to move somewhere just like that. It was an amazing time and I would definitely recommend to anyone.

We stayed with Al and Murray for 5 nights and they were just absolutely lovely. We were not there as tourists but to sort out a personal storage unit after losing our sailing boat in the pandemic. Al and Murray provided a home from home for us during this difficult week. The spa is fabulous and extremely relaxing. The pool is spotless. The room is comfy, spacious and airy and the bathroom / shower huge, pristine and well-appointed. We could use the kitchen as needed and the breakfast was excellent. If I could give these guys 6 stars I would. Thank you and we hope to see you in Europe one day.

Allan was a fantastic host who made us feel very at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast and fire that he prepared for us were extra nice and he was there to answer every single question that we had. The place was also very comfortable and close to the beach, and we were very satisfied with everything. Great experience!

Vicky and Damien were so amazing! I had such a lovely stay. The place is absolutely amazing and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend!
