Lovely village house, East Pyrenees

This quaint village house is located high up in the pretty hillside village of Rodes. Rodes rests in the Languedoc Roussillon/Pyrenees-Orientales region of France where Mount Canigou dominates the skyline. A 30 minute drive takes you to Perpignan and the stunning Mediterranean coast. The house has breath taking views of Mount Canigou from the rooftop terrace and can comfortably sleep up to 4 persons. It has a private garage, free WIFI and two bikes available for guests to use. On the ground floor is the walk through garage and a utility area with a washing machine. The two bedrooms are on the first floor. The 2nd floor offers open plan living with a fully equipped kitchen and an area for relaxing and eating. From here you access the sunny outdoor terrace and the mezzanine bathroom. The house and the area are perfect for a relaxing get away from it all holiday. Nearby is a village shop and easy access to the main road between Perpignan and Andorra. The village of Vinca is within walking distance and you can swim, relax and sunbathe on the shores of the crystal clear lake. Maison Mimosa is located in an exceptionally picturesque area ideal for walking and mountain biking as well as a visit to the world reknowned hot springs at Thomas Les Bains. During the winter season, the nearest slopes are just a 45 minute drive away. The 50 euros rate per night is negotiable dependent on number of guests, number if nights booked and the season. Beautiful traditional mountain house of more than 100m2 in stone and completely renovated in 2020/2021. Perched at 1400m and facing south with a large garden full of flowers and a breathtaking view of the Têt valley, the Canigou and facing the Carança massifs . Fauna is omnipresent and easy to observe and many hiking and mountain biking trails start directly from the house. Llar enjoys a Mediterranean climate and is located halfway between the high Pyrenees and the sea.

Old family house at the foot of the Canigou

We had a great time, as a family with our three grown daughters. Mariane's family home is welcoming, quiet, carefully decorated, in the spirit of a family home, with her memories. Marianne is a friendly and responsive host. We enjoyed the sweets at check-in. The house is well located, in a quiet village. Convenience stores 5 mins drive (boulangerie, Vival) to Vinça, Biocoop and supermarkets 15 mins. to Prades. The location is ideal to radiate over the Tet Valley and the Conflent... Don't worry about the stairs in the house, or the narrow streets to get around the village😀... There are no exteriors around the house, but the playground (slide, bocce courts, tables and chairs available) nearby pallient. We missed a composter: but there is a way to manage with the Neighborhood Family Gardens, or the nearby forest paths;). Great experience.

We really enjoyed our family stay for Christmas vacations at Mathieu and Aziza's house. It was such a nice and peaceful week - quiet, amazing nature, many activities nearby for all ages and financial circumstances. The house is really cozy and spacious. Aziza prepared a list of recommendations for us and explained all details. I would highly recommend this place of you are exploring French Pyrenees Orientales by car. Hope to get back one day again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable experience in Joch with two exceptional hosts. Our stay in Joch was wonderful thanks to Françoise and Olivier. From the first moment they welcomed us with great kindness and made us feel at home. The house is beautiful, clean, with amazing views and surrounded by nature. Everything was perfectly clean and cared for down to the last detail. They were attentive and always available, giving us good tips on what to visit and where to shop. Thanks to his directions, we discovered charming places like Castelnou, Vinça and Besalú. We also appreciate the small gestures, and the attention to our dog Kira, who was welcome at all times. The environment is perfect for relaxing, disconnecting and enjoying as a family. Françoise and Olivier and their son are exceptional hosts who take care of every detail and convey a lot of warmth. Vacation home overlooking the Canigou mountain

We had an amazing few days at Carolina and Ed’s home. The property was absolutely idyllic, stunning views and incredibly peaceful with plenty of privacy, though Carolina and Ed were always available if we needed to check anything. It was a lovely place to stay, very comfortable, with everything we needed and plenty of personal touches. We spent a lot of time just relaxing on the veranda in the shade, but there’s more to do, including walks down to the river (including some great places to take a dip). The baker’s van arrived in the village every morning with fresh bread and pastries, and the town of Vinça (lovely lake to swim in) and the beautiful village of Eus are a short drive away. Carolina and Ed were wonderful hosts and we’d certainly visit again. Highly recommended!
