Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Islay

We had a wonderful stay! The pictures don’t do justice how spacious and lovely the place is- both indoors and outdoors. We spent most of our time in the little conservatory space, as it was the brightest room and you could see the sea in the distance. Overall the place is very thoughtfully set up, and so beautiful! There were a few board games, great books, binoculars to watch birds, and enough firewood for a night! They also provided tourist maps of the region that were super cute and helpful. It’s isolated so you need to drive to Campbeltown to get any supplies (like more firewood like we did!) but it’s quite close by so easy enough. Truly a special spot! We could have stayed for weeks.

What a wonderful place. I have been coming to the island since I was a boy and this was the first year I could bring my own child to enjoy the most magical place. The house is perfect. A stunning location, clean, warm and spacious. We had a wonderful week and made some truly special memories. We will return!

We have a wonderful stay and will definitely stay here again when we come to Islay. The house was stunning and it a wonderful location if you like peace and quiet and nature, and do not need to be near to ammenities etc. It is an easy drive to get to Port Ellen and beyond. We arrived early and they were able to accommodate an early arrival which was very much appreciated. Would highly recommend.

Would highly recommend Beach view cottage. It was clean, comfortable and very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The location is also ideal for staying on the beautiful island of Gigha - an easy short walk to the beach, Achamore gardens or for a drink at The Boathouse. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Wonderfully comfortable house in a magical spot by a loch. Great for a family group with a big kitchen and sitting room. Lots of space for everyone.

Our second time visiting Gigha & staying at Ceol Mara. The house is in an excellent location and has everything you need. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again soon.

We stayed at Islay Hideaway and had an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and welcoming. Jamie was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The space was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time there. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend Islay Hideaway to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-hosted getaway!

Had a lovely stay, with amazing weather. Beautiful and well equipped, which was above and beyond, cottage, stunning views. Very relaxing. Ideal for exploring the area. Friendly and helpful host. Hopefully will be back one day.

Lea’s place was great. Very modern, comfortable and clean. In a handy location near some good pubs and very useful for travelling to the golf courses nearby. Lea was a great host. It was easy to check in and communication throughout was good.

What can I say about this place that will do it justice! What an incredible stay, as soon as Ned picked us up to take us across to Davaar Island we knew we had made the best choice for our stay. Ned was really friendly and welcoming, telling us all we needed to know for our stay and more. The cabin was spotless and has everything you need and things you didn't realise you needed (I didn't have the binoculars out of my hands for more than 5 minutes) Ned told us what wildlife to look out for and we weren't disappointed. We seen an otter, dozens of different bird species (seeing and hearing the Gannett's hit the water was a constant buzz) the Highland Cows, the Seal that seemed to live just outside the cabin and finally seeing a pod of porpoise swim past our balcony, wow. Ned told us we could attempt to catch a lobster and showed us the pots but did warn us that it's highly unlikely...on our last night we ate steak and a fresh LOBSTER! Thank you for having us and we will be coming back x

This was an absolutely stunning property! David was very friendly and helpful. The book in the house had many recommendations for restaurants and activities. The house is perfectly positioned for exploring Laphroaig, Lagavulin, and Ardbeg, as well as being a great jumping of point to explore the rest of Islay.

Home had everything we needed for our family from 7 months to 60! Great and helpful host and lots of extras in the house. Very comfortable and relaxing. Good beds and bedding with curtains that blocked light early morning. Thanks for a lovely stay.

This was our third stay at the Lodge and as before we absolutely loved it. The Lodge is so cosy and the garden is beautiful. The area is quiet and off the beaten track. The prosecco and the espresso machine were much appreciated added touches. We will absolutely be back! Thanks!

Had an amazing time in the Rusty hut. Everything was exactly as described and Pi's directions were very helpful in finding the place. Super cozy inside with the wood fireplace and an absolutely tranquil back garden where we could watch the birds at the feeders. A short drive from the main town, so easy to get to and from the ferry. Will definitely stay here again!

We had an amazing stay, the Shepherd’s hut was beautifully furnished, tidy, and cozy - it has all you need! Being around the farm life is incredible. Watching the baby sheep frolick during a beautiful sunset is surreal. And the view… one of the best I’ve ever seen. Bang for your buck.

We had a lovely stay at Catherine’s shepherds hut. It had everything we could have needed and was in a beautiful location!

Fantastic place to get away from it all if you really want to get away from it all. Dark sky area, views over to Islay and Jura, terrific sunsets, (if you get the weather). We'll certainly be booking again.

Absolutely stunning place to stay! Me and my partner booked two nights at The Barn for my 30th Birthday. Catherine’s instructions on how to find the property was spot on! We loved sitting outside and listening to the surroundings. The sea view was lovely to look out on to! On arrival the property was spotless & wood was ready for us to use the hot tub! The handbook was very helpful on things to do in the area & how to start up the hot tub! You wouldn’t think you were on a working farm, we heard nothing & felt so private. Travelling from North Yorkshire was definitely worth it!!! We will be back again!

The place was fantastic! A great location with easy access to Port Ellen while also being tucked away with a tremendous view. Karen was a wonderful host who communicated well and was always available to assist. The outdoor bath was great fun.

Amazing cottage. In the woods, with magnificent views over Islay just steps from the cabin. Karen was a wonderful host. Great communication. Everything was spotless and new. Everything you would need was in the cabin. We appreciated that it was an easy 25 mins walk to Port Ellen. So much to do and see in the vicinity. We would love to return for a longer stay next time. This cabin really deserves a longer vacation.
