Waterfront vacation rentals in Island of Hawai'i

We had a great time staying here. We love eating breakfast in the lanai overlooking the pool and palm trees. The place was really nice and clean. The bed were perfect ( not too firm nor soft) and the linens were clean. We had a great sleep every night. The kitchen was small but just perfect to cook and warm up food. The hosts were great at responding promptly to our question about water safety. It was nice that the tap water was safe to drink. The location was great. Close to a a lot of food places. Over all, the place was great and would definitely book again if we are in this area again. Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Wonderful place to stay. We felt right at home, it was clean and peaceful. Easy location to walk to shops and surrounding areas. Absolutely beautiful view. We will be staying there again.

We immediately felt right at home and welcomed by Regina and Scott. From the well organized binder of information to every amenity one might need, this is THE place to spend a week. When not running out to the sites on the Big Island, this property will meet all your needs. The room was quiet and had easy access. We could easily walk to town or have dinner on our private lanai while watching the sunset. When the staff blows the conch shells at sunset, all will be right in your world.

The condo had everything we needed and looked just like the photos. The beach gear was a fantastic touch, making our beach days effortless and fun. The fully stocked kitchen was nice—we loved being able to buy fresh fruit and prepare it at home. The bed was comfortable, and while there’s no AC in the bedroom, the fan kept the space comfortable. The location was conveniently located - only a 2-minute drive to the closes white sand beach and 15-20 minutes to Costco and Walmart. The street outside can be a bit loud from the passing cars, so the lanai wasn’t the quietest spot to relax, but it wasn’t an issue inside, and we slept well. Check-in and checkout were seamless, with clear and easy-to-follow instructions. Tom was an excellent host—he was proactive and highly responsive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Overall, a well-equipped and conveniently located stay that made our trip enjoyable!

We chose Chris's place for the gorgeous view and nearness to the ocean. We were not disaeppointed; we spent all the time we were there, except for sleeping and showering, on the lanai, looking out on the ocean. We fell easily asleep to the sound of the waves. The sea breeze and the fans were sufficient to cool the apartment. When it was time for us to leave for the airport, we packed our car and gave ourselves some extra time to just sit on the lanai one last time, loving the view. I don't think I will ever forget it. We were impressed by the well-stocked kitchen and most appreciative. Beyond salt, pepper, and evo, there were spices and condiments, rice (and a rice cooker!) and soy sauce, and even some cocktail makings. The pots and pans and knives were excellent. It was no struggle at all to prepare meals and clean up with the help of a full-size dishwasher. An initial stop at a 24-hr safeway and one more trip were all we needed, plus a trip to an amazing fishmonger.

Just like the photos-right on the water in a nice complex with a clean pool and nice amenities. Our kiddo loved having beach toys and we appreciated the chairs, umbrella and cooler. Marta was an amazing host, helping coordinate check in and out times with our flights, without me even having to ask. The only downside we felt was that it’s not particularly walkable-you have to get in the car for most things. This, of course, is not the hosts fault and overall we really enjoyed our stay, just an FYI if you don’t know the area well.

Simply put, Abra's place is much much better than it looks in the pictures. The place could have not been more peaceful, situated right next to a wonderful beach. There is a swimming pool and a restaurant! We loved our time in Big Island and we think that Abra's place played an important role in how much we loved our experience!

Awesome ocean view on balcony. Close enough to hear the ocean waves breaking on the lava rocks. Great amenities and ample parking. Peaceful easy feeling. We will be back!

A great location, beautiful views, and a great host team.

The Whale House was even better than advertised! The location was easy to find and so beautiful! We used this as our home away from home to explore Volcanoes National Park, Punalu’u Black sand beach, Volcano winery, and multiple waterfalls. Our family also enjoyed relaxing, reading, and napping on the lanai and in the hammock swings. The garden out back was a delight to explore. The lava cliffs were also very cool!! David & Chrystal provided everything we needed and more! The kitchen was well equipped- we made several meals. The cooler and beach equipment came in handy when we visited the black sand beach. The bikes were also a nice bonus. We really never wanted to leave and would love to come back soon!

Pali Hale was pure magic. Perched on a cliff with breathtaking ocean views, the energy of the waves made for a serene, unforgettable stay. The home was spotless, with fresh sea breezes and subtle Hawaiian scents setting the perfect tone. Reading and meditating on the patios was a dream, and the hosts were incredibly responsive, providing great local guides. Thoughtful touches like music on arrival made it even more special. An ideal retreat for family—truly unforgettable!

This place is perfect for 2 people! It is a drive from kona and many activities around but the drive is so scenic you hardly mind. The place was exactly like the photos, a great kitchen and bbq we were able to use and overall, all amenities described were perfect. Lovely decking to sit out on in the evenings! Overall this airbnb was great for the price and I would highly recommend.

This place was fantastic. The view is amazing- ocean, stars, mountains, it literally has it all. It’s super family friendly, tons of stuff to help you if you are traveling with an infant, toys, yard, safe space, play pen— everything you could need. It’s in a great spot with beautiful beaches ten minutes away. The hosts are so incredible. We grilled out on the deck watching the stars, picked fruit in the yard, enjoyed Kona coffee. If you stay anywhere else on big island you are missing out. This is a must stay and an incredible experience. We will return ❤️

We loved our stay at Mary’s place! Although it was a little more remote than expected, we appreciated the access to the different beautiful beaches in the neighborhood. The snorkeling at Manini Beach was spectacular! Because we had our 8 month old granddaughter with us, we also spent a lot of time in the beautiful pool. The “glamping” aspect of our stay was fun and we enjoyed the sounds of nature, particularly our rooster alarm at the crack of dawn which certainly helped us get our days started. We would highly recommend Mary’s place and wouldn’t hesitate staying again when on the island.

Just Fantastic. Even though it is advertised as off the grid, you still have all your amenities. It was great to disconnect. The views are amazing, Theresa gave us a private tour of the grounds. We spent a lot of time going places to see all of Hawaii. We could have just stayed put and still taken all the location had to offer. 10 Out of 10!

Iliahi gave us instructions and recommendations, also prepared the place well before our arrival. They were friendly and helpful. The place was exactly like what was shown on the site. It is right in front of the ocean. We enjoyed the stunning ocean view right from the balcony. Thanks, Iliahi!

We had a fantastic time. Wendy was proactive and responded immediately to messages. Condo was as described and the kitchen was well stocked. We really appreciated the beach chairs, coolers, ice packs and snorkel gear as well. We took a lot of day trips so it was nice not having to buy a styrofoam cooler or ice. The view from the lanai was amazing. We spent a lot of time there watching the boogie boarders and enjoying the sunset. There was also a cute little rainbow that would come and go behind the palm tree directly out the lanai. We did use the pool/jacuzzi a couple times both were well maintained. I choose Wendy's place both for the view and the proximity to town. It was an easy walk to morning coffee and the restaurants. All in all, it was a great trip. Mahalo

Thank you for hosting us in your beautiful home on the ocean! We enjoyed watching the surfers and sunset daily from the lanai or floor to ceiling windows, the sound of the ocean waves so rhythmic and calming. The condo is quiet, the pool and hot tub are great after a day of exploring. The kitchen was decently stocked to prepare daily meals and the condo was clean and well taken care of. The location was excellent, close to town/restaurants in one direction and beaches for snorkeling and picnicking in the other direction. Jennifer had snorkeling equipment, boogie boards and picnic coolers available for our use. We also had a designated, covered parking spot with secure, but easy access to condo. A wonderful stay! I hope our family can return again one day!

Great location. We loved listening to the surf with the windows open early morning. Loved watching the fish from the lanai. Staci was great. Gave us great advice and was super responsive to our questions. Thanks!

The attention to detail in this updated condo is apparent. It is appointed with guests in mind--USB charging stations, water play equipment, well stocked kitchen, cooler, containers and ice for picnics... The waterfront location was great even though this isn't an ocean-facing unit, it is in a location that other occupants aren't walking by the front door, which is nice. Although we didn't use the pool, it was a nice little feature and appeared very well-maintained. We used the AC both for cooling the bedroom and to blur the traffic noise from the busy street below. It did the trick for both!

What a perfect place to stay. Beautiful view and awesome accommodations. Quiet and peaceful. Easy to get to everywhere. Chad was great! Super helpful and attentive. Very comfortable place to stay with everything you could want. Would highly recommend to everyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view was outstanding and great to see surfers every morning and afternoon. The condo itself was very comfortable and would stay here again.

Jenna was very responsive and the condo was extremely clean and easy to access with the keypad. I appreciated her giving great recommendations for restaurants, beaches, and local things to do! Would definitely stay at the condo again.

This condo is right on the water - nothing but a strip of lawn between you and the water. It has a nice lanai ( balcony) with a dining table and chairs for four and a couple of lounge chairs. The kitchen is reasonably well kitted out. Paul was exceptionally responsive and nice.
