This is a quiet secluded Hyco Lake cottage located on the south end of the lake without a lot of boat traffic. It's a one bedroom, one bath cottage that opens to a front deck overlooking the lake. You may also use the screened-in porch and lower concrete patio of the main house during your stay. Due to the water being shallower on this end of the lake only fishing boats are allowed at the dock. We have two kayaks with paddles and life jackets available for your use.

Absolutely loved it. 7 minutes from the North paddock of VIR to the door is something that can’t be beat. House was beautiful on the inside, and the property was even more beautiful on the outside. Short walk down the driveway to a really nice dock on the private lake was a fantastic way to spend a little bit of time before going into work. Only thing I would caution is the house is absolutely a historic house and, while it is very nicely updated, it does retain some of the historic quirks of a plantation house from that era. The main bedrooms are connected through a fireplace and the staircase is not built to modern standards. But I would absolutely stay here again! William was responsive to all our questions and requests and was proactive to make sure we had the information we needed.

This is a beautifully modernized cabin on the woods. Julie was a fabulous host as she really paid attention to the little details that make a home rental experience special. The instructions for the accessing and functioning in the cabin were clear and simple. We enjoyed going on walks, making cookies in the kitchen,playing board games and lying around on the comfortable couch watching football. We had a fabulously relaxing time.

My family and I had a lovely weekend at the lake house. We felt right at home. The house is not only beautifully located right by the river, in a peaceful and private place, but it is also well-equipped and very spacious. Everyone had fun, from my 4 year old daughter to my teenage friend and the adults. Jeremy is responsive and friendly. We’ll be definitely coming back!

The home was gorgeous! It had so many beautiful amenities per the listing that was fun to use for my party. The house was very spacious, with a beautiful layout and a choice of furniture. The beds were especially cozy, even the couches were lovely substitutes for a bed. During the trip, David and Betsy were very responsive to my questions and very kind and helpful during our exchange. Would highly recommend their location to anyone who wants a combination of comfort, lots of space, fun lake activities, awesome amenities, and generally exceptional service

The property was very nice and the location couldn’t have been better for a quiet, relaxing family vacation. Overall a great experience with property and Jeremy! A few small details that we worked out together, but I will say they don’t allow early check in’s unless you want to pay an extra 50.00. We arrived about 30 mins early and still advised that we couldn’t check in until 4:00. I get they have rules! We would certainly go back to the property again!

THIS PLACE IS A PEACEFUL< GORGEOUS<UPDATED<WELL APPOINTED <LAKEHOUSE!! All of this and we did not even make it to the lake. We came into town for a mountain biking race for my son and being spring break we brought the whole family. The house was perfect and the beds were superior with temperpedic like mattresses and pillows. (best ever, and we travel quite a bit with racing) Everything from the furnishings to the kitchen, to the outdoor shower, to the upstairs bonus room with ping pong and billards, to the incredible main bed huge shower, and the fantastic back porch. A 5star stay! Fran was more than accommodating, responsive, and friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a house to relax and get away. Just be prepared to settle in as it is off the beaten path and groceries and delivery services are not convenient. However, that just adds to the charm of getting away from the chaos. We had such a relaxing stay that even appeased the teens!! That's a win in our family!!

Our family loved our stay! By far one of our favorite places we have visited. Clean, clutter free and plenty of things to do for all! Kids absolutely loved the pool, fishing and kayaking in the lake and searching for all the little frogs! It is one of those places that you can visit with the family and never have to leave to do anything else! Highly recommend! We will be returning next year! Thanks for hosting us!
