Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Hood River

Jason's shed was a great location for the Columbia River gorge area. Super clean, open, comfortable, and private. His recommendations were spot-on for restaurants and the brewery. We booked it 5 hours before arriving and it was ready for us.

Very nice, quiet, private place to stay. This was our second year in a row staying here on our annual fishing trip to Drano Lake. Easy to find, and very close to downtown White Salmon for restaurants and grocery store. The house is exactly as advertised, with everything you need for the stay. I plan on staying here again next year!

We had an amazing time. Erin’s home was beautiful and had everything we needed. It felt like home. It was a much needed getaway at such a peaceful retreat. We will definitely come back.

10/10 would recommend this home. It’s unique, in a great location (very walkable), and it has wonderful amenities. The hosts were very helpful to some personal needs and did all they could to accommodate us. I highly recommend this location if you like stairs and walking and GORGEOUS views!!

Stayed at Caleb’s White Salmon Retreat in June of this year. It’s in a great and very convenient location. About a ten-minute or so drive to the Columbia River as well as the town of Hood River which has ample shopping, restaurants and grocery stores. The retreat served as an excellent base for the local area, places of interest and sights beyond. Caleb’s retreat was found to be luxurious, quiet, clean and comfortable. The retreat has very quick Wi-Fi, washer and dryer and an ample kitchen. Caleb was quick to respond to all communications and was an excellent host. Will definitely return. Highly recommended to all.

Absolutely comfortable and spacious for our 5 adults. Great kitchen/dining for cooking and games. Living space and outdoor space has enough seating for everyone. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen fully stocked. Had my parents with us for this trip and we’ve already discussed coming back and staying here longer next time.

We stayed 5 nights in this beautiful accommodation with an incredible view overlooking the valley to Mt. Hood. The host was outstanding - great communication, very helpful with all our questions & requests. The apartment was immaculate & more than fully equipped - extra linens, a big supply of towels, snacks galore! The kitchen appliances were great, easy to use, and lots of cooking supplies were provided. For really outdoorsy types, even camping & similar supplies were available. Bed & sofa were super comfortable, Internet connection fast, Smart TV worked well with DVDs available for all tastes. The location was excellent, too - short-ish drives to Mt. Hood & various hikes in the National Forest, plus only a few minutes' drive to commercial areas for shopping. The host really thought of everything (even providing some padded hangers!). Our only regret: not staying longer. Thanks for a great experience.

this was our second time staying here. it's clean, quite, comfortable and the heated floors are great. Super convenient location for hiking, biking and most anything outdoors.

My husband and I feel in love with the place. It’s beautiful worth the price. We really enjoyed it and the bed was so comfortable we slept great !! Definitely worth it.

Nice property right by the River. Comfortable stay and a good value. Beds were comfortable. The hosts set up a fire in the fire pit for us which was a nice bonus. They were also flexible on check out time.

The view did not disappoint! Wonderful little slice of the PNW, great location and a relaxing stay. As mentioned in other reviews, WiFi did not work- bring your own hotspot!

A+! Peaceful with a fantastic view across the Gorge and only 5 min to restaurants, brewery, and grocery store. Our hosts stocked the essentials (coffee, basic cooking foodstuffs, toiletries) so there was no need for a rushed shopping trip on arrival. Great information on everything to do in the area and friendly, responsive hosts. Will be our go to ABNB in the Gorge/Colombia River area when we come back.

It was so nice not to deal with all the traffic and parking hassle at the concert we went to. We took an Uber and the drive was less than 10 minutes away. No parking hassles and enjoyed our show. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Thanks Rip

We absolutely loved this place, so cozy and non-pretentious. Beautiful antique glass collection and lights on at night in the garden were a bonus for us. We would definitely stay here again.

This was a great mountain retreat! David was a great host. Easy to get ahold of. He had clear and easy check in/out instructions. Made for a great little weekend escape!

Great value and it was above my expectations when I walked into the house. I had a great use of the kitchen and the AC was definitely a huge bonus during the summer heat. Rich was very good in communications and I felt like I was well taken care of

Great walkability to downtown Hood River. Overall fairly clean place. Provided whole bean coffee and grinder. Kitchen well stocked. Large bed comfortable, smaller twin bed very uncomfortable for an adult. My 4 year old was ok to sleep in it but the whole mattress dips in the center under adult weight. Something to keep in mind if using.

We loved our stay at Maria’s place. Beautiful space!!! All needed amenities and the location is gorgeous. Loved the beautiful views from the patio. We enjoyed the fireplace. The resort is gorgeous and feels private although you’re close to everything. We took the bus up to Mt Hood to Timberline Resort. This is which a must do for amazing views. You can catch it a few minutes from the resort and only costs $4 per person round trip. Star views were beautiful! Also check out Trillium lake for a beautiful view and reflections of Mt Hood. Can’t beat the location. Close to restaurants and the gift shops at by the thrifty store at the main road had so much cute stuff. We absolutely loved our stay and the area. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful spot.

Overall, the condo was very nice and the location was excellent! Easy walking distance to everything in downtown Hood River and directly above a wonderful coffee shop/bakery. Mary was very responsive and helpful. The one item that could use some additional explanation in the condo description was the bedrooms. The beds were very comfortable but there was very limited privacy. The bedroom walls are 3/4 walls with a large space between the top of the wall and the ceiling. The bedrooms also do not have doors but have hanging drapes. As I said, the overall comfort was excellent but with two teenage boys, my husband and I felt our privacy was limited.

Definitely best for a solo traveler or couple. Would recommend traveling light just so you’re not tripping over your luggage. The neighborhood felt super safe and was quiet. Definitely would come back in the future :)

This was such a comfortable stay, and I’d gladly stay here again anytime I come to the Hood River area. It’s perfectly located between the Fruit Loop, downtown Hood River and lots of hiking. We felt so relaxed in this condo and loved that we could come back after our activities and relax and enjoy the view!
