Vacation rentals in Hood River County

Hubs and I have been wanting to take the kids skiing for years. But as they would be first timers we desired a casual, fun, low stress experience. Having lived in Oregon I immediately thought of Mount Hood. We lucked out that Violet’s place was available as our family prefers having more space and the ability to cook (in part because of food allergies and picky eaters). When we walked in we were BLOWN AWAY but how resorty the apartment looked and felt. I mean - heated bathroom floors, all the amenities, and soft amazing beds. Beautiful view from the balcony. Even a little hidden nook bed that my 10 yr old just adored. It really was perfect for us. We skied at Meadows and skibowl (go to Meadows - it’s worth the drive) but love the tubing experience at skibowl. The heated pool was so fun - every time my daughter got too hot - she’d hop out and make a snow angel then hop back in. I would not hesitate to book here time and time again.

Laura's place is spacious and modern with an amazing view of the mountains. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The kitchen was decently stocked and the appliances were modern and great. I loved the open concept kitchen, dining area, living room. The bedrooms are downstairs on the basement level and right next to each other, sharing a bathroom. The second bedroom is more like a "nook" with a curtain, so it's not quite a full bedroom. We booked last minute and even ended up shortening our reservation due to it not being the right fit, but Laura was incredibly understanding and flexible with our situation.

We had an amazing stay! The place is cozy, well-stocked, and perfect for families. The beds in each room were thoughtfully arranged, and our kids had a blast sharing rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed, making it easy to cook and enjoy dinners together. Parking was hassle-free, and the location was ideal—just a short walk to great coffee spots. Besides skiing at the Meadows, we also went tubing at Ski Bowl, which the kids loved. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and family-friendly stay!

Loved this place! Lovely wood cabin set back in the trees. Peaceful and calming. Beautiful hike just up the road a few minutes walk from the front door. Beds are super comfortable and we all slept very well here. Thank you 🙏🏻 Anthony

Overall great stay and great host. Unfortunately we had an injury on the mountain and they were able to work with us and understand circumstances instead of an, “oh well, sucks for you guys” situation. Good people and a beautiful home.

I would highly recommend this lovely home. We stayed there with our daughter, son in law and 4 teenage grandchildren. There was plenty of space. The house was well stocked with everything. My grandsons loved playing air hockey. The hot tub was enjoyed after a long day of skiing !! We were able to walk to restaurants and had a short drive to the ski slopes. We had a wonderful time!!!

We loved it!! Easy for 2 families to enjoy, loved having toys there for my 3 kids and the beauty of the place was amazing! The host was easy to connect with. Some light maintenance needed to be done but it didn’t affect our stay at all! We loved the house!

Super cute house. Wish the fence on the sides closed. Lots of cookware that was in good condition. Comfortable beds and nice separation between bedrooms
