Castle vacation rentals in Highland Council

We had an amazing experience at this place. We were a family of two adults and two teenagers visiting Scotland. We stayed at the Fort Augustus Abbey for 7 nights to explore the Highland, lakes and islands. The apartment was large and very comfortable, inside an old abbey and its huge park, facing a large green field. The location is truly exceptional, directly on the banks of the Loch Ness, close to all facilities. Most of the apartment looked very recently renovated. The furniture and beds were great. The kitchen table and the living area furniture were clearly used but not at all worn out. There were some stains on the carpet but nothing bothersome. The apartment was very comfortable with a huge dining table, lots of space, two full bathrooms, very comfortable kitchen area, etc. The abbey was great overall, a very nice park for walking or just sitting around, table tennis, open-air chess, swimming pool, etc. By far our best Airbnb experience. A bit pricey but absolutely worth it!

Beautiful, comfortable room in a castle! Lovely luxurious break from camping. Staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. Great for exploring Stornaway for a night. Wished we stayed longer!

Traumhaftes Airbnb, man fühlt sich wirklich wie im Märchen. Malerische Umgebung, wunderschönes Castle und viel Natur und Ruhe und einen herum. Man hört den Fluss plätschern, wenn man die Fenster öffnet. Einfach das perfekte Airbnb und abzuschalten. Mimi war sehr freundlich und zugänglich und hat uns auch die Umgebung gezeigt und uns Empfehlungen gegeben. Kommunikation war super. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben aber hoffen, dass wir eines Tages wiederkommen können.

John and Linda were wonderful hosts, the apartment was cosy and clean. Not too far from the town & very peaceful. Everything was as listed, we highly recommend staying at Blackcraig Castle!

Het kasteel ligt op een prachtige plaats, vlakbij de zee, met prachtig uitzicht. We werden hartelijk ontvangen door Pam die ons naar de kamers bracht. Je moet via de privé vertrekken en een prachtige houten trap naar de eerste verdieping. De kamers zijn zeer smaakvol ingericht en het ziet er allemaal nog mooier uit dan op de foto’s. We waren meteen verliefd op deze plek en zouden hier nog wel veel langer willen blijven. De keuken, de bedden, de badkamer…alles was perfect. We hadden heerlijk weer en de wandeling naar zee was ook prachtig. Vanaf het bankje voor het kasteel met een wijntje de zonsondergang zien was een kadootje. Ik zou heel graag weer terug komen naar deze plek, maar dan wil ik graag langer blijven.

Mansfield Castle is great, authentic and loved the history (and two redwood sequoia trees at the front!) Good chat with John, the owner in the bar. Great breakfast, cooked to order. Only negative was that the bed was a bit hard.

Foulis Castle is absolutely amazing. We wanted to stay in a castle in Scotland and this didn’t disappoint. We wished we could have stayed longer. We stayed in 3 different places over a week in Scotland and this was our favorite. The castle is so private and peaceful, but close to Loch Ness, Inverness, Culloden and Cawdor Castle. We stayed in The Pavilion and it was so cozy and felt like home. We did laundry and sat outside on the swing set during sundown. The beds are comfortable and the towel warmer in the bathroom actually works. Ohma was super helpful with local attractions and any questions we had. We ate breakfast right down the street at Highland Farm Cafe and it was the best breakfast ever. 10/10

We thought if it’s only half as stunning as in the pictures we’re already happy but it exceeded our expectations by far. Entering this apartment… your jaw just drops and you have to take a moment to really understand you gonna be staying in this one of a kind and so unique location. Everything was super clean and Mike who welcomed us was super nice and always there if you needed anything. Checking in was easy as well. We had fantastic holidays and made unforgettable memories! Thank you Joanne to open your home for others to experience such a special place. We absolutely loved it ♥️

Wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt. Am Anfang war es etwas mulmig in einem Castle zu Wohnen Aber alles sehr schön.Sehr sauber und alles mit Liebe gemacht.Morgens wird man vom Hahn 🐓 geweckt 😉 Waren mit 7 Personen dort. Kein Telefon Empfang dafür aber WLAN zum Planen der Touren. Ein Ort mitten in der Natur sehr schön Ruhe Entspannung . Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt 😀

Would absolutely stay here again. Very spacious (Abby Church 2) and kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The views of Loch Ness are stunning. Easy walk to village The only negative are all the doors don’t stay open and slam if you don’t stop them or have something to stop them from slamming. The room above had the same issue but they’d let them slam all through the night.

The castle is amazing, if you don't stay here then you missed out on an awsome adventure. If you want the most authentic rudtic castle experience you will find none better, we loved every minute of our stay, thanks to our Host David for making this experience possible

Tolle Unterkunft!

Absolutely amazing property. Out of our 10 day stay in various establishments in Scotland, this was hands down our favorite. Would definitely stay here again.

The West Wing at Glengorm Castle was truly remarkable. We spent two full days here and spent the last day simply exploring the estate grounds and spending time at the Glengorm cafe just to take in the beautiful scenery and stunning views. You will not want to leave because of how peaceful and private it feels. Truly a destination in and of itself as others have said. Hope to return one day soon!
