Farmstay vacation rentals in Highland Council

A truly magical place, our five days spent here was the highlight of our travels so far. Peaceful, serene, cozy and warm. The only downside to staying here was that it had to end. We hope to come back soon, before we head home for good, as an assured nest of relaxation and birdsong before the long flight home. The owner Janet is very lovely and helpful too, you will be in good hands.

We booked for a last minute get away and Tim & Judy’s place did not disappoint! The cottage was gorgeous and Tim was very helpful in getting us settled - peanuts were set right outside the kitchen window and we had red squirrels within minutes! Lots more bird watching was done throughout our stay :)) The fire and heaters kept us cosy, and the kitchen was well equipped. Will be returning soon hopefully!

Grant’s place was absolutely amazing! We loved every minute of our stay. It was the perfect base for exploring Skye and taking some time to disconnect. One night we cooked in, and another we went to the Old Inn and enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the loch, such a beautiful view! We’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!!

Megan and Sean’s place is beautiful—thoughtfully designed, well equipped, and tastefully decorated. It was perfect for our family of five (two adults and three children). Megan went above and beyond, even baking a cake and bringing fresh flowers from her garden to welcome us. The house is full of charming details and has been expertly renovated, blending the character of the old building with modern comforts. We especially appreciated the thoughtful extras for families—there were toys and board games that kept the kids happily entertained. There was also a wealth of local resources—books, maps, and guides—to help us explore the region. Firewood was provided for the fireplace, and the BBQ was ready to go with a full gas tank. It’s a wonderful place to relax—we’ll definitely be back.

This is a special spot if you love the outdoors. Such a wonderful location.

Beautiful location and nice lodge

Rock Cottage was a great ‘study camp’ for my daughter in the run-up to her exams. The house was immaculate and very much a home from home. The beds were very comfortable. The highlight, though, is outdoors - the wild garden is enchanting and full of bird life - we loved sitting in the sun room watching the swallows outside, followed by the bats at dusk. It’s in a very peaceful location but only a short drive to Kenmore or Aberfeldy for shops and restaurants. We’d love to be back!

A fantastic stay in peaceful surroundings. A lovely, cozy home with super comfy sofas in the lounge to crash onto after a day of walking. Kitchen has everything you’d need, and we opted to stay in and cook as a result. Great location too, with a fantastic selection of restaurants just a short drive away.

Absolutely beautiful place and surroundings. Responsive host, quite well thought out basic needs to stay at cottage. Definitely on our favourite lists to visit again.

We loved the eco cabin. It was so well made and had everything we could need inside and more. It was very clean and comfy. We found so many things to do in the Black Isle as instructed by Clive and really enjoyed it. Lots of wildlife to admire. We also loved reading Clive's nature books at night. Made us reflect on low impact living and how it is possible for us to do!

An excellent place to stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely visit again.

David & Aisling's place was beautiful beyond words. The location was perfect – short driving distance to Portree and it had everything we need for a very comfortable, warm stay. View from the living area was the best and perfect for winding down after a day out. Would definitely want to come back again if I can!

We came here for our minimoon.. the chalet was impeccably clean and extremely well kitted out. We met Dawn as she very kindly drove us to Flodigarry Hotel for dinner one night and picked us up too! Communication was excellent.. Nothing was too much trouble and was in an ideal spot for all our adventures! Cant recommend highly enough!

This pod was amazing! We couldn't believe how lucky we were with the amazing panoramic view and perfect location. The pod had everything we needed and was very spacious. Was sad to leave!!

We had a lovely stay at Bridget’s these last 5 days. The cottage is very private, is warm and cosy and has every amenity you could need. Very comfortable bed. Beautiful and peaceful location and close to good hiking locally. Could not fault this property.

We stayed 3 nights and this was the perfect base to explore Harris and Lewis. The pod is immaculately clean with the most spectacular views. Keith & Chrisma have generously provided lots of extras including an excellent breakfast Would definitely recommend Thank you

My wife and I stayed at The Old Croft House while celebrating our 20th anniversary. Everything was absolutely perfect. The host was extremely helpful with instructions and recommendations, the house was clean, well stocked with essentials, and had every amenity we could have needed. The house and surrounding property were incredible, with stunning views and an abundance of things to do to suit most any taste. We especially recommend dinner at Atholl House a short drive away in Dunvegan. You should make reservations, but the food and host are amazing. Skye itself was also magnificent. We definitely recommend taking the walk out to Coral Beach. It’s an easy 20-25 minute walk and will give you breathtaking views and we were lucky enough to have a good bit of solitude even though the car park seemed a bit busy.

The hosts were so friendly and kind! The Airbnb was exactly as pictured. The space is located right next to the main house (where the hosts live) The welcome basket was lovely and we enjoyed meeting the cat, dogs and chickens!

Everything you need can be found in this beautiful cottage. Beautiful walks in the immediate vicinity. Add to that the view of the Isle of Skye and the immediate vicinity of the great Glenelg Inn with suberp food. What more could you want?

If Paradise is half as nice, like cottage 4 with squirrels and deer. Who needs Paradise, I'd rather stay here... We had a wonderful time on the Loch (s) with beautiful brown trouts, and our (often sunny) terrace... We will certainly come back for a longer stay near the Monadh Liath mountains.
