Great communication from Heather. The cottage was very clean, well presented and well equipped. A very comfortable bed and ample space for two people. A beautiful location. Would definitely return. Many thanks to Heather.

South View

HazelRating, 5 stars5 months ago
South View is a beautiful cottage in the sweetest little Hamlet with gorgeous walks all around. We were welcomed with little Christmas gifts and extra logs which was so nice! It's spacious and cosy at the same time. Responsive heating thermostat and two log burners. A gorgeous big table for our family Christmas meal and a good selection of quality pots pans and trays for cooking. It's around 30-45 minutes walk to Reeth depending whether you walk the road or take footpaths along the river or hillsides. Reeth is gorgeous, with a corner shop, bakery, artist studios etc around a large green. We enjoyed an incredible meal at The Black Bull the night we arrived, but we preferred The Buck Inn for after walks. It felt like a proper village pub. We did do the recommended walk to the Red Bull in Langthwaite, but were very disappointed to have to sit outside in the bitter cold wind as we had a child and a small dog with us. It's unusual in walking settings to find this so we weren't prepared.

Modern Dales Haven: Elegant Escape in Yorkshire

Rachel Rating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a lovely weekend here in such a tranquil setting. The village pub was a good find but I would book, as gets very busy! The closest mini market that we found was about 1/2 hr, so best to pick up supplies on the way in! We came prepared though and there was a welcome basket of goodies, as well as fire wood. The first night we had a fire pit outside but the second night was chilly and the weather had been wet and we opted for a log fire inside. The kids enjoyed the games room and the sheep on the front lawn every morning was an added bonus! A lovely cottage with lots of charm. Great host, who kindly organised the posting of a left behind item for us 😊
