The house was amazing. The amenities were an extra plus. Everything you needed and more. Everything was fabulous and we look forward toto staying there again.

When we walked into this place, my family of 4 including 2 college kids all sighed in relief. It’s tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen was so well stocked that my son made us our anniversary dinner. Kids loved having their own rooms. We are touring our National Parks and after coming in from American Samoa, we were grateful for the laundry supplies and nice washer and dryer. It was super peaceful here, and we fell asleep in the comfy beds to the sounds of Koa frogs. It was easy to get to the Hawai’i Volcanos National Park from here. The front and back patios were peaceful. This is a quiet residential neighborhood, so be polite and do not speed.

Lucky to grab this location for a few days. Accommodations were great for three parties of folks. Especially great one couple could bring their dog. Unfortunately, we missed the volcano eruptions, which started the day we checked out for home. They seemed to have everything you might need and super cozy, including the reclining couch sections were comfortable enough to sleep in!!

Kelly was AMAZING! What a beautiful place. It was quiet and peaceful. The horses were so sweet. We loved hearing all the birds chirping in the morning. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone. Thank you Kelly for sharing your home with us. We will be back.

Larry was incredibly responsive and kind! The house is tucked away from central kea'au and hilo, the neighborhood is very quiet. Parking is available. There are many roaming chickens around the property but that is just Hawai'i in general. The stay was very enjoyable :) the place is definitely cabin vibes but it was nice to retreat after the busy festival weekend.

Beautiful place away from the busy city life. Lots to see and do and everyone is very welcoming and helpful. Felt like a camping trip without the roughing it part. Kids couldn't handle the bugs at night other then that we had a wonderful time. Definitely recommend, would love to come back when it's just adults on vacation.

Me and my friends had a girls trip and this was the best place we could've stayed at! The place was very clean and welcoming, nice and quiet to rest and relax at the end of the day! Coming and going was super easy, and checkout was stress-free. We would all recommend this place to all of our friends and stay here again!

We enjoyed spending a long weekend here. Cynthia and the staff on site are very knowledgeable about the island and recommendations. We really enjoyed spending time in the hot tub. We also enjoyed having the opportunity to mingle with other guests on site. Would stay here again

Wayne's place is a heaven on earth, tucked away in a lush oasis surrounded by lava flows. It is serenity pure with a touch of luxury (... off the grid yet with pretty sizable pool)! Wayne made us feel welcome, offered local tips and was always approachable. This house is probably one of the best equipped Airbnb's we stayed at, nothing was missing, not even floaties for the pool! When we come back to Hawaii we will certainly consider this house a first choice for our overnight needs. We hope it will not be far in the future as we miss the place already!

We had an unforgettable stay at Sina’s beautiful Japanese-style home! The design of the house was stunning—open, peaceful, and incredibly accommodating for our entire family. The kids were in heaven with the spacious yard, spending hours exploring, playing, and splashing in the pool. The location was perfect—peacefully secluded for privacy and relaxation, yet conveniently close to stores and everything we needed. Sina was a fantastic host: extremely responsive, thoughtful, and supported by a wonderful team that ensured our stay was seamless from start to finish. To top it all off, we were lucky enough to witness the volcano's 25th eruption during our stay—an absolutely breathtaking and once-in-a-lifetime experience! We highly recommend this stay and will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Sina, for sharing your amazing home with us!

We had a wonderful time staying at Kristen's place in Pahoa. She was such a great host. Very quick to respond to our questions and requests, provided great local tips, and an overall great person to get to know. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a home on the east side of the Big Island, either for a few days or for a longer stay. Very comfortable with a big bedroom, fully stocked kitchen, and living room. Jungle living at its finest!

Mike and Kim were very friendly and made us feel right at home. Although they live in the property, they respected our privacy. House was clean and had everything we needed for our 6 week stay. The pool was incredible, which our kids and us frequently enjoyed. It was hard to leave and hope to be back again.

John was a great host! He was super nice and welcoming. The place was clean and nice and spacious. He left us bottled water and made sure we settled in.

An off grid location in a peaceful and natural island setting with beautiful kitchen and bathroom. Only 10 minutes from either beautiful sites on the south coast or shops and provisions in Pahoa. Our boys loved the separate bunk building with two beds. Our group of five used alot of water but we only ran out one time. We let the host know and a refill was promptly ordered and waiting for us upon our return from the days activities. If you need communications, an AT&T network phone worked for us..(Pre-paid phones can be found at Walmart) Our group used alot of power, but the solar/battery system kept up well concidering. A group with reasonable power needs should have no problems with power availability. If you rely on a CPAP or simular device, a backup battery may be advisable to avoid interuption. Note that the nearby black sand beach is very beautiful but is a "Clothing Optional" beach. This place is at at the top of my list if I return to the east side of the Big Island.

I had a great stay at Ben and Katherine's property. The photos do not do it justice - it's tucked in the forest farms yet not far from the main road. The outside is lit up at night with plenty of solar lights through the evening and plenty of lighting inside as well. The cabin has EVERYTHING. Hot water, electricity, BBQ grill, a nice big sink by the grill for dishes and pans. The bathroom was super cool! Although it's open air, it does have two walls and a ceiling but the open area faces away from the road and into the forest for privacy. In the afternoon you can shower in the sunlight. Their son does an excellent job with the upkeep and the details throughout make you feel right at home. Communication was excellent and they were very responsive. If you want a quiet place to wind down to and wake up to close to volcano or even Hilo, this is it! I highly recommend and I look forward to coming back 😎

This place is very private and peaceful, about a 30-minute drive from Hilo. The house was clean and overall a great stay. I would definitely recommend it! Just a heads-up—if you have six adults, two people will need to sleep on the sofa bed, which can be a bit tight. But everything else was perfect!

Beautiful location at what feels like the end of the world. We slept well and enjoyed both the sounds of nature and the beautiful and unique surroundings. While there are plenty of neighbors in the community, everyone seems to keep to themselves. It was extremely quiet and enjoyable. The firepit in the pictures is not operable, which we found out after booking and really the only downfall for an otherwise great stay. A rental vehicle is required to get there and we were grateful to have rented an SUV. Highly recommended as the roads are rock/gravel with some small hills and quite the drive, but the closest town is about 15 minutes and will have anything else you need. Bring drinking water! The pictures do the cabin justice; it is open air but well maintained, comfortable, and worth the stay. Overall very good experience!

We moved around a few times on this trip, but this was our favorite place that we stayed. Everything was very clean and well stocked. We felt right at home. I was feeling a bit nervous at the last minute about not having a/c, but that was not an issue at all. I was surprised with how much cooler it was in that side of the island. This was a great little area with everything we needed near by and plenty of character. I loved the history of the house!

The perfect little getaway from the busy life on Oahu! We loved experiencing being off grid and exploring the beautiful area. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little jungle remote vibe! Hosts were very responsive and the place was clean! Our kid loved running around collecting sticks and finding the big white Rooster! Family of three (2 adults and a 3yr old)
