The Bothy is really charming and comfortable, and very well equipped. It's in a quiet location with lovely views, and is in an ideal location to visit Hadrian's Wall, Vindolanda and Allen Banks. Fearga and Graham are really welcoming hosts and will go over and above to meet your needs. The breakfast was 5 star too. Highly recommend and we'll happily return. Thank you!

This was a fabulous stay. Did all it said on search. bedroom was roomy and bed comfy bathroom was small but everything placed to maximise space. shower easy to use and refreshing. kitchen had everything and more. only thing missing was a freezer and that I got from search. sofa in lounge comfy. tv . building heats up within 15 mins once thermostat in bedroom was put in play. as weather was nice , pulled 2 chairs out of outhouse and sat in patio area. neighbours were chatty. recommended

This is a lovely place, set halfway up Sheild Hill. Susan is a very friendly host(ignore her photo) she does smile a lot! The accommodation is beautifully presented and quite compact. Wrens nest is two floored, with sleeping and bathroom down some stairs. The stairs are steep and narrow, however i am 6`5" and a big man, and i made it ok. The surrounding area is magnificent, just a few miles from the famous Sycamore Gap in Hadrians wall. Lots of walks and stunning scenery. The main reason i stayed is the Dark Skies above. If you are into Astronomy or Astrophotography, then this place is a dream come true. Very dark skies, bortle 2-3. I will be back, staying here was outstanding 👏 👌
