Colorful and Stylish Studio with a Private Garden

Our garden studio is in a quiet residential area. Birds, cedar trees, and garden plants abound. That said, we are also uniquely situated to meet your business or tourist needs. Although a studio, the apartment is quite spacious. It has a large eat-in kitchen, a sitting area, a bedroom area, and a large bathroom. (Please note that the kitchen contains a microwave oven, toaster oven, and induction cooktop burner but no range. )If you have a car, we have always available off-street parking in our driveway. Two blocks from our house, you'll find a major grocery store, drug store, and gas station. We are one block from bus stops that will take you on express (non-stop) bus rides to downtown Seattle in just 27 minutes. Parking is expensive downtown, so even if you have a car, you may prefer to take public transportation. You may park in our driveway the entire time, enjoy your own private patio and garden, and come and go as you please. This apartment is its own separate dwelling unit. We live on the property, but access to this apartment is completely separate from us. From the driveway, you will enter the apartment by walking down 12 widely spaced steps to the front door of the apartment. The steps are on the north side of the apartment. Our interaction with you as our guest is completely up to you. Since we live on the property, we are easily accessible for information about dining, shopping, sight-seeing, and troubleshooting. We have lived in Seattle for almost 30 years and are happy to share our expertise. Over the years we have had many friends and family visit, so we have lots of ideas on what one "must see" on a trip to Seattle. On the other hand, if you are here for a quiet retreat, that's fine too. The studio is tucked away in Mapleleaf, a quiet residential neighborhood in the north part of Seattle close to major attractions and public transport. Starbucks and the Northgate Mall, with shops and restaurants, are a short walk away. We are one block from bus stops that will take you on express (non-stop) bus rides to downtown Seattle. In 27 minutes you could be at Westlake Center during the height of rush hour. Parking is expensive downtown, so even if you have a car, you may prefer to take public transportation. The University of Washington and the University District are 15 minutes by bus. At the same bus stop, you can catch a bus that will take you directly to the Light Rail Station at the University of Washington. (This means you could easily take public transportation all the way from the airport to our house. Take the Light Rail to the last stop, get off and take the # 73 or #75 bus to a block from our house. Easy!) We are also close to Northgate shopping mall, the Northgate Transfer Station, and Seattle Children's Hospital. In the warmer months, guests can help themselves to strawberries (spring) and tomatoes, blueberries, and fresh herbs (summer).

An open living space showcases a dining table with four chairs, a cozy couch, and a second seating area. Modern kitchen appliances and a white countertop are visible in the background. Natural light brightens the room through a nearby window, enhancing the welcoming atmosphere.
