Dongchonjae is located in Seochon Village, very close to Gwanghwamun Square, the center of Gyeongbokgung Palace and Seoul. It consists of Anchae, Sarangchae, and Annex Room. Built in 1939, Dongchonjae It's not a fancy hanok. Seoul City and the government (Korea Tourism Organization) have recognized it as a traditional hanok. Dongchonjae has opened its home by a retired couple and has been operating since October 2020. Guests use 4 rooms, living room (Daecheongmaru), kitchen, 2 bathrooms (inside: shower available, outside: small but showerable), Numaru, and yard. The host lives in Sarangchae and provides breakfast and other services. The mini hanok is located in a very quiet place, but if you walk for more than a minute you will find many cafes and interesting shops. It takes 5 minutes on foot to Changdeok Palace and 10 minutes on foot to Gyeongbok Palace. Nearby are Jongmyo and Unhyeongung Palace. You can also go to Myeong-dong and Namdaemun at once if you take the 151 and 162 blue buses.
