what a lovely time here at Casas Pelicanos. we stayed here for 3 days and wish we stayed a bit longer! Sibylle was very friendly, welcoming and overall so pleasant. everything was clean and accessible. loved the outdoor patio, hammock, garden, pool and walkable access to the beach would recommend this place to everyone! need 4x4 for safety reasons, roads are dirt, rock and when raining pot holes filled with water we cooked meals here and then ate at many local restaurants, favorites: Sabor De Mi Tierra & El Fogon de Dona Luisa. local supermarket Junquillal for basic stuff, I recommend stopping at a bigger supermarket on the way from outside towns recommended to stop at Playa Grande, Playa Negra (both have parking with security guard you pay cash colones 2000). playa Negra had monkeys, variety of birds and squirrels. playa grande was by far my favorite- you could walk for ever, take photos on the rocks and of all the shells! just heads up this is Costa Rica, there are bugs everywhere

This apartment is outstanding and comes with every amenity you could ask for — even a dryer, which is quite rare in Costa Rica. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the ocean views from both the master bedroom and the living room are absolutely spectacular. Frances is a wonderful host — very attentive and always checking in to make sure everything is perfect. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It truly exceeded our expectations.

Our family stay was excellent, the house is spacious, modern and very well decorated, with everything you need in the kitchen to prepare all kinds of food, a large pool and spaces in the backyard that overlooks the sea to rest or share with your loved ones; right in front of the sea so from almost all areas of the house you can easily see it. We loved it and hope to be back soon. 100% recommended

Hands down the most beautiful place we've visited. Our kids (6 &3) basically lived in the pool/bay for the 10 days we were there. We were the only unit rented out of the 8 houses, so we had the whole pool area to ourselves (and the beach most days too!). Our favorite part had to be the wildlife: howler monkeys in the trees right outside the house, countless scarlet macaws flying overhead, manta rays surfing the waves in the bay, and iguanas galore. Jeannette and Bas were wonderful communicators and so helpful with local recommendations. The setting is so beautiful that we didn't eat out once, just made food in the incredibly well stocked kitchen and ate outside with the view. Some helpful tips: 1) bring sleep masks. The curtains don't block much light and the sun rises at 5:30am making early mornings for kids! 2) It took us 7 hours each way from San Jose (traffic, ferry wait, ferry ride, etc.) so it's a commitment to visit. But oh, so worth it! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Staying at Rancho De Linda was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the lush Costa Rican jungle on the beach, it offers the perfect blend of natural charm to fully immerse yourself in the local ecosystem. The property is surrounded by vibrant wildlife — from colorful frogs, friendly iguanas, beautiful butterfly’s, hermit crabs and chirping birds. The views are breathtaking and the sounds of the ocean are mesmerizing — making it a true ecological retreat. Douglas and Irena were delightful hosts. We enjoyed visits from their sweet pup Bambi and loved the availability of the housekeeper. The place is very clean and well taken care of. We loved our Yoga class Irena taught under the palapa and enjoyed the delicious cooking of two local chefs. We drove into Tamarindo for the day and visited the Diamanté Eco Adventure Park for a thrilling zip line. Ramona is the most outstanding host I have ever encountered while using Airbnb. This trip was to celebrate a birthday and our stay was nothing short of perfect. Ramona was so responsive and checked in on us via chat throughout the stay to ensure we had a very smooth stay. Her home is just breathtaking and her assistance with getting my itinerary together which included a private chef, transportation, and excursions in such a short timeframe, I was speechless!! I cannot stop telling my friends about my experience and am already planning a trip back in 2026! Thank you so much for the unforgettable experience Ramona!

We had a wonderful time! The place was exactly as pictured, clean and had great views! The activities and pool were only a short walk. Lots of nearby restaurants and shopping. I would absolutely recommend staying at Stephen’s place!

Our family of five (with three kids under four) had the most incredible month at this Airbnb! The location was perfect, with a breathtakingly gorgeous beach just steps away. We felt completely safe the entire time, which was so important with little ones. The house itself was comfortable and well-maintained, but what truly made our stay exceptional was the wonderful staff. Maureen, the housekeeper, was incredibly helpful and kind, making everything seamless for us. And we can’t recommend Domingo the cook enough—her dinners were a highlight of our trip! We used her services every night, and every meal was absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a stress-free, beautiful getaway with top-notch hospitality, this is the place to be! We can’t wait to return!

In general, CR was more expensive than I would have guessed, which made Andrea's place an even better value than I hoped for. The unit is in a gated area right on a beautiful beach with a very active reef, and lots of colorful fauna. There's even a nice restaurant 100m away. We stayed much closer to home than we intended for the whole trip. If there was anything that might scare people away, there were several ant species roaming around the unit. It's a jungle, and they have wings, so what can you do? Nobody got bit, and they were individuals, not swarms. I also evicted a land crab that was enjoying the AC. I don't think you're going to find anything without an elevator and a lobby that doesn't have this level of intimacy with the local fauna. I would not hesitate to recommend Andrea's place to anyone.

as a lot of the reviews stated. the dogs can be a bit loud but not loud enough to not have a great time. the cats that hung out on the porch absolutely made the trip and I'm not even a real cat guy

We enjoyed our week at Rose des Vents! The house is set on a jungle hillside, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation - we saw coatis, monkeys, and birds daily, slept to the sound of crashing waves, and woke to tropical bird songs and distant monkey howls. The highlight is the detached upstairs with a large terrace and a super relaxing infinity pool overlooking the bay; this upper level is definitely worth it, though the pool is a bit smaller than we imagined. The lower level is a studio with two bedrooms and a jack-and-jill bathroom - functional and pleasant with sea views, but not as inviting as upstairs, where we spent most of our time. Samara beach is just a 2-min drive or 10-min walk. Hosts Caro and Ridley were excellent: when a tree was cut down for road work, causing a temporary power issue and damaging the water pump, Caro responded quickly and arranged a prompt fix with a nice commercial gesture. Overall, a unique, peaceful, and truly refreshing stay in beautiful Samara!! 🌴🍹?

The best review I can give is that is is a place I would stay at again and this Airbnb is one of those. The house was beautiful, the views fantastic, the location was close to everything we needed and the host, Lia, went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. She had groceries delivered since we were arriving later in the day. Her recommendations on local spots were right on and she arranged a chef to cook for us on our last night and the meal was wonderful ( highly recommend it), Like I said, I can hardly wait until our next visit.

I really can't say enough good things about this place. Kris is an incredible host, the trailer was clean, cute and cozy and the surroundings and the beach are gorgeous. We absolutely loved our stay there. It was a huge highlight of the trip. If you find yourself in the Samara/Playa Carrillo area don't even consider any other accommodations. Stay at La Caravana!

This was a fantastic place to stay never been to Tambor before, but this made my stay even more fantastic. It’s absolutely stunning. Loved it so much. Thank you again.
