A lovely property in the middle of Split old town, walking distance from lots of restaurants and the main attractions. The house is beautifully designed, clean and has the necessities. Parking is a bit tight but a small price to pay for the location.

Split Varoš Karuza Studio for 2

JonathanRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Had a fab couple of nights at Ivana's place. She met us at the apartment and gave some really helpful recommendations (would definitely suggest a visit to Gelateria Emiliana 🙂). Accomodation was in great condition and location was fab. In particular, we appreciated the beach towels so we could go for a swim! Thanks Ivana!

We had a wonderful stay at Dijana’s place in Split from 1 May to 4 May 2025. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and perfectly located-within easy walking distance to the historic city center and all the main attractions. Dijana was a fantastic and responsive host, making sure I had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The apartment was well-equipped, and the area was peaceful yet vibrant. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Split and would love to stay here again!

Bruno took care of everything in advance. Private transfer from the airport was great. Was received by the brother who showed me everything on site. Accommodation was cozy, everything available and clean. Everything is within walking distance. Beach/sea almost at your doorstep. Sound location. Gladly again.

Red Apartment in an Old Stone House

JoyceRating, 5 starstoday
We had a wonderful stay at Neno’s charming little brick house apartment. The location couldn’t have been better—perfectly situated between the Old Town and the harbor. Everything ran smoothly with no hiccups at all. The shower was fantastic, and the outdoor laundry lines made drying clothes quick and easy. We also really appreciated the Nespresso machine—such a thoughtful touch! The air conditioning units worked great, and the windows opened wide to let in the fresh air. Highly recommend this place for a comfortable and convenient stay.

Dalmatian traditional house (3 beds+2 ext)

WolfRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We immediately felt comfortable in the old stone house, which was renovated on the outside and modernized inside. We liked the spacious terrace with the fantastic view over the sea to the islands. The interior is mostly equipped with high-quality solid wood furniture. The amenities also leave nothing to be desired. The sleeping area under the roof looks cozy, the beds are very comfortable. Overall we liked the quiet and very private location of the house. There are a few restaurants that can be reached on foot. We liked the Konoba Argola (definitely reserve at least one day before) with its beautiful terrace. The mountain road with its narrow hairpin turns is a little annoying, but there are plenty of alternative options along the route, and very few to no vehicles are encountered.

Seaside penthouse with Hot tub "SKY LIVING"

JoshuaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had such a wonderful time staying here. It's about a 30 minute walk to the centre of Split, which is absolutely magical. But sometimes just sitting outside or in the hottub and staring at the beautiful scenery was enough for us. Such a wonderful luxurious experience - and a very special thanks to Katarina who was incredibly responsive and helpful whenever we had questions.

Charming place in Split Centre (with free bikes)

EmmaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This was a great little AirBnB, perfect for the few days we had in Split. The location was great, with lots of really nice resteraunts, cafes and supermarkets very nearby, but far enough out of the centre of the old town to be peaceful and a bit less touristy. We loved our stay and the appartment had everything we needed. Zlatko, was also a really responsive host, responding to our messages and giving us great recomendations :) Thank you Zlatko!

Villa Aquero

JuliaRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We had a fantastic time at this house. It's a 45-minute walk from the center, so that's a lot. You can catch the bus for 2.5 pp or an uber van from 12 euros total. Was great. 5 minutes away is a large supermarket. Really everything that was described was present. There are occasional minor flaws, such as 2 showers that didn't work well with us, but the next day he came right away to make it. When we arrived, there were also some welcome drinks and snacks in the fridge. He had also brought a bottle of booze, a cake and a card for a birthday girl. Super sweet all.

Glass villa: heated pool , jacuzzi

NicoleRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The hosts were incredibly responsive, even before we arrived. Once we landed, they stayed in close contact, and everything went as agreed. Vinko greeted us warmly, showed us the house and came for checkout to say goodbye. A highlight of our trip was Vinko’s dad, whom we called Opa, who became our personal driver. With a group of eight, renting two cars seemed too much, so glad we didn’t! Opa picked us up at the airport (even made two trips as our group arrived separately), was always on time, and made every ride fun and relaxing. His prices beat Bolt. The house was amazing, comfortable beds, a great pool, jacuzzi, and space for everyone. It truly felt like home. Shops, delicious bakery and the beach were nearby, and being between Split and Trogir was perfect for day trips. Even the occasional plane overhead didn’t bother us. The hosts also gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants and activities. This place gave us unforgettable memories. Thank you, Mirta, Vinko, and Opa!

We have just returned from 4 nights in this villa and it was amazing, the photos don't do it justice. would strongly recommend for anyone. The villa is up in the hills but we had no problem getting an Uber when we wanted to go out so it offered the perfect blend of peaceful privacy with easy access to Split.

A beautiful kitchen with utensils to supply yourself, with fridge and freezer. Anlange also has a pool and barbeque. The landlord super friendly has responded to all wishes and suggestions, we had our privacy and were able to do almost everything we wanted. Staying again

Beautiful and quiet location. The house had great facilities like the heated pool and PS5. Overall, it was a very relaxing place. Edi was nice and helpful guy, he answered fast and kindly to our messages. The house is located in a quiet and cozy place in the village of mravince. From the house it is a short distance to a shop and a restaurant. The balconies had wonderful views of the mountains and the city. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were our favorite places during the holiday, the water was clean and suitably warm. Our holiday was nice and memorable, thank you Edi.

Stipe’s property is gorgeous! The sea views are lovely and it was pleasant to sit by the pool in the evening. It’s about 15 minutes to the downtown area and the Bolt was inexpensive. I had a question about the water tank and Stipe was immediately helpful - communication was excellent. I absolutely recommend this location and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Your guide to Split

Welcome to Split

At first glance, this Croatian port town on the Aegean Sea seduces the eye with white stone buildings and red-tiled roofs, which glow against the bright blue of the sky and the Mediterranean Sea. As you wander down Split’s narrow streets, you realize that the buildings around you span two millennia, and you find yourself staring upwards, picking out architectural details from the Roman era, the Middle Ages, and the Belle Epoque.

Whether you’re visiting Split at the peak of its bronzed-beachcomber summers or during its moody gray winters, Croatia’s second-biggest city exudes a relaxed vibrancy. The shops and galleries along Marmont Street (Marmontova Ulica), as well as its seafood market, are bustling no matter what time of year. In the warmer months, locals and visitors alike while away the afternoon at the bars and cafes flanking the beach at Bačvice, or settle into open-air restaurant tables along the Riva, the city’s seaside promenade, for a leisurely dinner and plenty of crowd-watching.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Split

The mild Mediterranean climate of the Dalmatian Coast brings plenty of visitors to Split. Like most of the region, winter is gentle here, though no one’s shimmying into bathing suits for a long day on the waterfront — the regular rains and winds green up the hillsides and keep locals indoors. April ushers in a flower-filled spring, and the whole town turns out for Krnjeval (Mardi Gras), celebrating with masked balls and parades. From late May through early September, the dry heat begins. With little rain and temperatures in the 80s and 90s Fahrenheit, Split’s beaches and tourist attractions fill up, and the pleasure boats on the sea proliferate. Croatians and foreigners alike descend on Split in July and August for the Summer Festival, when some of the city’s most scenic sites host open-air concerts and ballets. If you’d prefer to see a more serene side of Split, book one of the area’s vacation rentals for mid-September through October, when the water is still warm, the days are still sun-drenched, but the crowds have gone.

Top things to do in Split

Tour Diocletian’s Palace

Few Roman sites from 1,700 years ago have the immediacy of the spectacularly preserved Diocletian’s Palace. Built for the emperor back when Split was a village on the outskirts of the more populous Salona (itself now in ruins), Diocletian’s fortress and imperial residence has been absorbed into the surrounding houses and shops. You will shuttle back and forth through the centuries as you wander through the ancient Cathedral of St. Domnius, arched passageways and gates, and the peristyle (central courtyard). Afterward, head to the Archeological Museum to peruse hundreds of Roman artifacts.

Take Some Island Time

You could spend a full year exploring the 1,200 islands off the Croatian coast. If you don’t have a year, take a ferry to Hvar or Brač, two of the biggest, not to mention the easiest, to get to from Split. Hvar draws the internationally rich to its azure bays and graceful villas, and you can wander around the medieval city of Hvar or escape in a car to more remote towns and beaches. On Brač, vineyards and olive groves stripe the mountainside on Vidova Gora, which you can summit by foot in just a few hours, cooling off afterward on Golden Horn Beach.

Climb Marjan Hill

Split is situated on a peninsula that juts into the Aegean, and an expansive natural preserve covers its western tip. A large hill divides the park from the residential neighborhoods on its east flank, and as you climb you’ll pass open-air cafes, a Jewish cemetery, and centuries-old chapels. Many locals treat Marjan as an open-air gym, and you’ll likely spot runners sweating up the steps and climbers feeling their way along the rocky bluffs. If you crest Marjan Hill and head back down on its north side, you’ll reach pine-shaded beaches suited for contemplating the sea rather than stretching out a towel.
