Cottage vacation rentals in Gaucín

Peaceful stay for a week. Beautiful elevated location with panoramic views. Rocabella restaurant at the bottom of the track was great if you dont feel like venturing out far, with a varied menu from light bites to main dishes with burgers, steaks and fish.. My advice would would be to grab some basic groceries from a supermarket prior to going up to the house i.e coffee, bread eggs , drinks etc. I travelled with my ederly mother and the accomodation was suitable for our needs as she is unable to manage steps. There is one twin room downstairs with a bathroom and walk in shower which is next to the kitchen , lounge and outside patio so easy access for her with limited mobility. its would not be suitable for a wheelchair however. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with doors opening onto a patio with table and chairs, perfect for your morning coffee to relish the sun rise and sunsets, and also affording privacy if travelling with others in your group. I throughly enjoyed my stay. 😊

Super mooie finca met prachtig zwembad. Ons huisje was top en had een fantastisch uitzicht vanaf het terras en vanuit de jacuzzi!

Repetir en el alojamiento de Laura siempre es un acierto. Es una persona fantástica, siempre atenta a lo que haga falta. Fuimos con nuestra perrita de 13 años sin ningún problema, ya que es parte de la familia y no salimos de casa sin ella. Laura nunca se opuso a pesar de ser una american stafford(que ya sabemos el estigma que hay con estas razas). Amenazamos con volver por tercera vez 😉 Un millón de gracias Laura por dejarnos un sitio tan bonito y tranquilo para descansar y desconectar. Agradecidos estamos de encontrar un alojamiento tan bonito, en un lugar tan tranquilo y tan bien equipado ❤️

Casita muy acogedora y bonita, no le faltaba detalles. Lo que más nos gustó fue el jacuzzi y la chimenea. Buen lugar para desconectar. Lorena muy atenta y respondiendo a todas nuestras dudas. Muy recomendable, repetiremos 100%.

Wij hadden een geweldig verblijf in het huis van Silvia. Het huis en de tuin zijn in het echt nog mooier dan op de foto's. We voelden ons er meteen thuis. + Fantastisch (bubbel)bad + Perfect uitgeruste keuken (je kunt er echt goed/uitgebreid koken) + Heerlijke zwembad + Prachtige omgeving + Super host

Diego is one of the best hosts I’ve worked with on Airbnb! He allowed a very flexible check in, he is wonderfully communicative and friendly, and very energetic. His country home is a labor of love, and perfect for a family to stay. Unique experience about 10 minutes outside Setenil de las Bodegas, as he has chickens, turtles, turkeys, and all manner of produce growing. The showers were hot, the beds comfortable, and the kitchens well stocked. Great outdoor spaces for relaxing. The one thing is about the third bedroom/loft; it is a VERY short ceiling, so our third couple (who are on the taller side) preferred to sleep on the sofa bed. Would certainly recommend Diego’s home to anyone and would return.

Todo perfecto, la zona exterior muy cuidada y bonita. Fiel al anuncio. no tuvimos ninguna complicación para llegar y acceder y eso que nuestra llegada fue bastante tarde. Nos lo guardamos para repetir.

Dit huisje met zwembad (én jacuzzi!) bovenop de berg in Coín is echt een paradijs. Ideaal voor een ontspannende gezinsvakantie. De weg ernaartoe is wel pittig, maar eens je dat gewoon bent, is dit de perfecte uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes naar Malaga, Ronda, Marbella, Granada, …

We had a wonderful 2-week stay at Casas de Almajar in July of 2024. My 7yo daughter and I were there along with friends, for a total of two adults and 2-3 kids at any given moment, ages 6-10. This accommodation was perfect for us. The house was cozy and stayed relatively cool during the very hot daytime hours (plus there was an A/C unit we could use when needed). We prepared most of our meals at the house and found that easy to manage with the supplies on hand. The pool was definitely the highlight of the location: it was pristine and extremely pleasant during the hot days. We spent hours there every day. The house is located uphill from most of Prado del Rey so you need to be prepared for some steep, hilly walking when you stay here, but it was only a <5 min walk to the main pedestrian walkway (lined with bars and cafes) or the town square. Juana was very helpful with local information and suggestions, from supermarkets and restaurants to nearby hiking trails. A great place!

This is our second time staying at this villa. It is a very beautiful area and so peaceful. We can happily ensure we have all we need and not leave the place. Lise is amazing. She looks after the place so well and when she has been to clean pool or water the plants you don't even know. She comes very early so as not to disturb but if you see her have a chat, she is a lovely lady with lots of knowledge!

Lovely cabin in the woods, cut off from stresses and strains of life. A challenging drive but well worth it. Sabina and Walter were helpful throughout. Loved our stay there and would go back. Thx again.

Our family of 8 enjoyed staying at Juan's charming & rustic home. If you are looking for a modern Airbnb, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Ronda, where you can enjoy beautiful views from your deck/patio/private pool & enjoy family time...then this place is for you. When you are ready to leave your comforts of home, you can drive to two of the most beautiful white villages in Andalusia: a quick 10 minutes to Ronda or 25 minutes to the amazing & unique Setenil de las Bodegas. Juan's place has all of the comforts of a mountain home, complete with views of endless stars at night, 2 full bathrooms, enough room to sleep 8 comfortably & two air conditioning units (1 in the main bedroom & 1 in the living room) to keep the house cool. There is no AC in the 3 downstairs bedrooms, but since the rooms are on the bottom floor, they stayed cool at night. Our boys also loved the resident neighborhood cat, whom they named "Sunflower"! My girlfriend and I stayed at Jarandalus for 5 days, looking for a peaceful home in beautiful surroundings, and we got exactly that. The house and gardens are amazing, and the views are breath taking. The home feels luxurious, and Salvador and Isabel were warm and welcoming when we arrived, and Salvador was available and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. The barbecue was excellent, the pool was lovely, and we greatly enjoyed being in the grounds of the house. The location has fantastic views and is close to several small towns, and only 30 minutes from Ronda, so is convenient but is at enough distance to give a peaceful and quiet stay. This was well worth the money, we loved our stay, and hope to return some day in the future.

Wir sind von Martine und Ron herzlich empfangen worden und haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist ein kleines Paradies mit einer tollen Aussicht und einem schönen Pool. Es war alles sehr sauber mit einer guten und gepflegten Ausstattung. Im naheliegenden Coin gibt es gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und einige gute Restaurants. Von Martine und Ron haben wir tolle Tipps erhalten und sie waren jederzeit erreichbar. Von uns kann es nur 5 Sterne geben! Vielen Dank für die wunderschöne Woche von Meike und Peter aus Wedel.

We hebben met veel plezier verbleven in de mooie cottage van Frank en Luisa! Het is gelegen op een privé terrein wat enorm veel rust en ruimte bied. De koeien lopen los over de weg naar de boerderij toe, erg idyllisch!! De cottage is een beetje oud maar wel heel schoon en onderhouden! Geeft echt de landelijke sfeer. De tuin en het zwembad (adembenemend uitzicht) worden erg goed onderhouden en verleent zich echt om helemaal tot rust te komen! Wij gingen heen om het dorp Tarifa te bezoeken, dit is echt een geweldig dorp met het mooiste strand van Europa wat wij gezien hebben! In Los Barrios en Algeciras vonden wij de eet gelegenheden wat somber, maar misschien moeten we beter luisteren naar de adviezen van Frank, haha! De verhuurders willen je overal mee helpen, erg fijn! Bedankt voor het verblijf!

Ein Kleinod mitten in den Hügeln umgeben von Natur. Die Lage des Hauses ist einfach wunderbar. Man hat einen 360 Grad Rundumblick. Der Pool ist vorne flach und hinten 2 Meter tief so dass man problemlos reinspringen kann. Das Areal bietet viele Sitz - Liegeplätze zum verweilen. Das Haus ist entzückend im spanischen Stiel gebaut und sehr sauber. Es fehlt an nichts, ob elektrischen Orangenentsafter, Kaffemashcine usw. Ist alles nötige vorhanden. ÜberGewürze, Alufolie, Shapoo, Duschgel, Mülltüten, Toilettenpapier, Handtücher alles war in ausreichender Anzahl vorhanden wir mussten nichts kaufen. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Die Stadt Colin ist 5 km entfernt. Dort findet man eine Vielzahl von Restaurants und Supermärkten was wir auch zu schätzen wussten. Jesus ist ein sehr netter, zuvorkommender Vermieter der sofort bei jeglichen Problemen oder Fragen verfügbar ist und Abhilfe leistet. Danke Jesus für so ein schöne Zeit in deinem Haus.

Thank you Pepa you were a warm and helpful host. Pepa was very responsive to messages and answered all of our questions about the Holy Week processions in the village and how and where to watch. We loved the house. It’s modern, clean and very well stocked. The rooftop pool deck was fabulous and we had a lovely afternoon up there during our stay. The views across the valley are amazing. The village is quiet and peaceful and a lovely place to spend a few days. Thanks again Pepa we would love to visit you again some day. Stephen, Laura and Family.

I honestly can’t recommend enough! The most beautiful setting with everything you could possibly need. Beautifully decorated throughout. The most wonderful breakfast delivered every morning. The best hosts you could ask for. I can’t wait to book and come back! Xxx

It was a delight staying there. Lots of space and light. Very peaceful and quiet. And of course the views! So nice to be out on the terrace. And even the view from inside the kitchen was amazing. Very big kitchen. And a very comfortable bed.

Wij hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad in de Airbnb van Mireille en Jose. Het is op ongeveer 20 minuten rijden van Tarifa. Als je een natuurliefhebber bent en van dieren houdt is dit een geweldige plek. Iedere dag kregen we wel bezoek van een ander dier. Het huisje is niet super groot, maar heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. De douche is heel fijn. Ook is er een prachtige plek met een klein zwembad waar je heerlijk van het uitzicht kunt genieten en lekker kunt afkoelen. De communicatie met de host was super fijn. Als er iets is kun je ze bereiken en staan ze voor je klaar. Al met al een heel fijn plekje in het zuiden van Spanje.

A great place to spend time with family, surrounded by mountains. Parents will find peace, while kids can have fun in the pool. Everyone enjoyed playing ping pong in the terrace. Inside the house, there’s enough space for two families. There are air conditioners in every room, although we didn’t use them at all – even when it was +30°C outside, the house stayed pleasantly cool. Arriving at the villa at night felt a bit extreme, so it’s important not to rely solely on navigation – pay attention to the signs as well, especially when you’re close to the villa. Jose is a very warm and friendly host 👌

La estancia ha sido espectacular sobre todo en algo que , después de haber ido a muchas casas rurales , normalmente es muy malo en todos lados , las camas han sido tremendamente cómodas para después de pasar el día intensamente poder descansar para recargar energías! Muchas gracias.

What a wonderful ten days! We loved the cottage with the well equipped kitchen, the views and the outdoor space. The house has both heaters and air conditioning, but during our stay we didn’t need to use either. Really enjoyed walking up into the village and into La Janda. Tanja kindly provided fruit from her garden with some breakfast treats. Great stay!

A really great stay! Perfect location to relax away from the noise but a quick drive to Marbella if needed. The place has all the amenities you need and the private pool is great. We would definitely stay here again.
