Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego

Kaitlin’s Airbnb was a great place to stay! It was in a great location close to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. It was perfect for my family of 4 and was clean and comfortable for all of us. Kaitlin was super communicative and responsive throughout our visit. I would highly recommend and will absolutely come back for any future stays in San Diego.

The place was immaculately clean and had plenty of supplies including paper towels, high end pots and pans as well as good quality towels.

This was an absolutely unforgettable place. Anthony and his wife, Shannon, were perfect hosts. They left a binder with plenty of great recommendations of places around the area to check out, and on our first night when we were out shopping for groceries, they were more than happy to provide some essentials (cooking oil, spices, etc.)! The place itself feels so cozy and was an excellent little getaway. I ended up proposing to my girlfriend (now fiancée) here, and Anthony and Shannon left us so gorgeous flowers and a note as a congratulations. I really can’t speak higher of this place. It’s so welcoming and you really can’t find nicer, more respectful hosts. TLDR: easily the best stay in San Diego! You’re going to love it!

Angie was a great host. The place was very peaceful and comfortable for my girlfriend and I. We were very pleased with how clean and easily accessible everything was. Also was a close commute to the border where I picked my girlfriend up as well as the beaches for us to spend a weekend together.

I for sure am going to stay here the next time I’m in San Diego, I had such an amazing time staying here! Jing is so responsive and kind and made my first time here in San Diego a truly magical and memorable time!

My stay here was exactly how I wanted it to be. The home was very clean and had a lot of necessities like cookware, silverware, shower products, and so much more! Everything was super neat and organized. The bed was extremely comfy. The host was very easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed, also made sure all our questions were answered. I am looking forward to staying here again when I return to San Diego. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about staying here. You definitely get your moneys worth.

Wonderful place to stay!! Check in instructions were incredibly clear, and the hosts very helpful and responsive to any questions I had. The pictures are a great representation of the place; very cozy, light filled, clean, and comfortable. I really enjoyed being within a short walking distance to Petco Park while still being able to explore some of the neighborhoods in San Diego easily. I would absolutely stay here again!! Thank you!

This was our 2nd stay and again did not disappoint. Extremely clean, quiet, and the king size bed is very comfortable. Which is a priority for us. Love that coffee is available because no one wants to arrive and then go buy coffee. Especially for a relatively short stay. Alex is a great host and very responsive.

Mayra's place is a strategically situated apartment. it's walking distance to the Convention Center and surrounded by everything (restaurants, cafes, shops, minimarkets). The apartment is huge and fit to 6 persons, although we were only 4 persons. The building is steps free, the apartment is on the 4th floor and the elevator works well, which is very important for me because I have problem with my ankle due to surgery. The apartment is also including free car parking which is not far from the building (maybe only 1 or 2 blocks from the building). Mayra is a nice and friendly host. She explained all the details and very easy to understand. I will definitely comeback to her apartment if I visit San Diego again in the future.

JB and Ana were great hosts and were wonderfully accommodating. This was a great private room in a very convenient location. I was definitely satisfied with my experience, especially the ease of check-in/out.

We do not have enough words to describe our appreciation for our host Kay & how lovely our trip to this city was. Kay’s place was perfectly located for exploring & perfectly accommodating for 2 people. We want to gate keep this place for ourselves because of how wonderful the experience was but Kay deserves the recognition for being the most reliable & stellar host. Hands down a great experience in every way possible

I highly recommend Jessica’s place. It was clean, well stocked with everything one would need for a lengthy stay, and nicer and bigger than the photos. Great view of downtown, little Italy and the water from the huge patio that had ample seating. Jessica was a very friendly, responsive and accommodating host. The elevator has access directly into the suite which made going in and out very convenient. The area felt very safe and there are many restaurants and cafes nearby. While it was close to the airport and had airplanes flying by, the noise was minimal and not at all a problem at night. My only suggestion for guests is to bring sleep masks if you plan on sleeping on the bunk beds as that area does not have dark/black out blinds and is bright in the morning. All in all a great stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

Sommer was extremely responsive, accommodating and helpful. The place was just as described and was well stocked with everything you could need. Quiet neighborhood close to lots! We really enjoyed our stay and Sommer made all the difference.

Cody’s space was super accessible and had everything I needed for a short weekend stay. Street parking was easily available, initial entry was easy even with my late night arrival and Cody was responsive to all messaging ahead of my stay. Bed was comfortable, shower was spacious, and the neighborhood is easily walkable to a number of restaurants, cafes, bars and convenience just blocks away. With that, the space is still quiet and private both day and night. My only critique is that the couch could use an update, as others have mentioned, though this did not have much impact on my stay. Would definitely stay again if coming back to the area.

I enjoyed staying at Vivian's place and it worked just fine for my purposes. I was in town for a conference and the home is about a 20 minute walk to the convention center. The apartment was well appointed and I appreciated the in-unit washer and dryer. The home is in a quiet area of the city and fairly residential. There weren't many people walking around when I was coming back at night, which did give me pause as a solo female traveler, however I found the surroundings to be safe and had no problems.

Everything about this stay was perfect. At first, I was a little worried about the reviews about the shower water being cold, but both showers had hot water running! Friendly host! Very responsive! And very helpful security at the door! The place was very fresh, clean and beautiful! Definitely one of my favorite stays added to Tijuana!

I booked the flat as an alternative to a hotel for a business trip to San Diego. My expectations were surpassed. Felt right at home so the business stay didn't feel like a trip away from home at all.

The place was easy to find and check-in was a breeze. The location was perfect for our trip and everything was as pictured. Would definitely book with Nick again.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Airbnb! The location was stunning, with ocean views and the soothing sound of the waves—it was the perfect place to relax after a day out. There were several great restaurants within walking distance, and we loved being able to grab snacks from the nearby Oxxo, just a short 5-minute walk away. The host was very accommodating, allowing us an early check-in, which we really appreciated. Security at the front was helpful and friendly—they assigned us a parking space and made it easy to find the building. We did experience a couple of minor issues: the shower wasn’t draining properly, and on the third day, the door wouldn't lock. The host responded quickly to our messages, but unfortunately, no one showed up after we waited about an hour. However, the issue was resolved while we were out, so everything was fine when we returned. Despite those small hiccups, we had a lovely time and would definitely consider staying here again. This place was absolutely perfect for what my wife and I needed. Perfect distance from downtown San Diego to get a city feel, but also far enough to not be super loud and busy all the time. Tony was a great host and was very responsive when we needed anything.
