Lígia was an excellent host. Very concerned about the time of our arrival, and extremely friendly when she saw us. She immediately showed us the space, and gave us very important tips, and introduced us to the activities that were taking place at the time so that our stay could be as pleasant as possible. Although there is a little book at home with the most important generic tips. The space is very nice, the location is fantastic and the area has plenty to do.

We had a very pleasant stay at Miranda's place. It was warm enough and well insulated (which is quite the exception for apartments and houses in Portugal). The kitchen was well equipped and the house was spacious while not lacking a warm atmosphere. We also liked the little pine forest just behind their house. The communication worked well, and we also had the opportunity to get to know Miranda's daughter, Tessa, a little bit more, which enjoys talking and showing around. Miranda has also been promptly helpful as we lost the key of the main door and with few other questions we had. All in all, very glad to have stayed there–gladly anytime again!

It was a wonderful stay! The house was very clean and combines the rustic and welcoming charm with all modern amenities. We loved watching the animals and the surrounding countryside, as well as sipping breakfast in the morning. The host sent clear instructions and was always available, responding quickly to messages. Even in the cold weather, the house was always very comfortable, as the rooms have air conditioning and heating on the lower floor. we will certainly repeat!

It's tough to explain how special this place is. We are not 'city' people- though we did go to both Lisbon and Porto due to close proximity and an easy drive. To wake in the mountains every morning- to see it, smell it- this is a part of what makes it special. You toss in the generosity (of heart and produce)-of the neighbors- the good priorities of this country (preserve the land and history, keep it clean and easily accessible, etc)- the variety and amount of amazing things to see and do- it's all a part of the recipe for a unique and perfect experience. All the small villages, along with the offerings of Vila de Rei and Ferreira do Zezere offer unlimited activities and any supplies or services you may need. Yet a short drive to almost anywhere else in the country. The Zezere is the most beautiful river we have ever seen. Being so close to the coast provided extra thrill. The house is beautiful and spacious! We have much respect for the owners who live off this beautiful land!
