We had a great Ascension weekend at Sandra and Mathieu's place. The accommodation is beautiful, tastefully renovated. The place is beautiful, surrounded by nature and very quiet. Many daytime activities: hiking in varied landscapes (mountains, ponds, etc.), electric bike rental in Melisey (€35/day) and then games available in the accommodation. In the evening, make way for foosball games and the jacuzzi! I would highly recommend this rental!

We were greeted by Lucille , who spoke perfect English and Monsieur . We were shown all about the house, how to operate the jacuzzi and given excellent recommendations for the area. The booklet was invaluable particularly for village market days. The house is so attractively deco and so comfortable with everything you need to make your stay troubles free and relaxing. As we are from Australia we loved cooking outside on the BBQ. Being supplied with wraps for the jacuzzi was much appreciated as was the jacuzzi after climbing lots of steps visiting the castles. Our hosts all came to farewell us which was a lovely friendly touch. We thank you all for your lovely home and generous spirit of welcome. This is an excellent Perigord base and we strongly recommend it.

We had a great time, the setting is beautiful with a beautiful view and tranquility, the accommodation is perfect and well decorated, we enjoyed the plancha, the jacuzzi and the pool. The host is super responsive to any requests. i highly recommend this place.

A quiet nature break. Everything was perfect. The accommodation is very well-equipped, it matches the description in every way and the Nordic bath is really very pleasant. Cyril is a responsive, very discreet host and he advised us to visit very beautiful villages nearby. Go there without so much as a second thought, it was a real "disconnection" bubble, refreshing in the heart of nature 😊

We had a great weekend at Christelle's place. The sauna and hot tub were much appreciated. The 3 bedrooms are comfortable with their private bathroom. Christelle was a nice host who showed us the walks and places to visit in the area. We'll be happy to go back!

This was the most beautiful Airbnb house I have ever rented – hands down. Dominique was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the entire stay felt like a pure vacation dream. The house is located in one of the most stunning regions I’ve ever seen – the landscape, the view, the garden, everything is just magical. The kitchen, the interior design, every little detail – it’s like stepping into another world. I’ve truly never seen anything this beautiful. As mentioned in the description, the pool was cold, but having a pool like this is such a gift – we used it every single day and loved it. Everything was simply perfect and dreamy. I can only recommend this place to everyone – and I’ll definitely come back!

Very happy with my 3-day weekend, I was looking for peace and quiet, this is the perfect place. This little house is so nice and warm, I loved the bathrooms and the upstairs bedroom which is just beautiful. Mark has always been responsive to messages, great. This accommodation is a little gem, I recommend it without so much as a second thought. I'm thinking about coming back 😊

We had a great couple of weeks here. It proved an ideal location from which to explore the Périgord Vert. A very peaceful spot with a secure garden for our dog and walks nearby. The facilities in the cottage were excellent and as described and we really appreciated the bottle of wine and home made cake on arrival. The pool was very relaxing and comfortable and easily warm enough to swim in late May. There is an (excellent) boulangerie in the nearest village which is walkable and supermarkets for provisions in Brantôme. Several nearby towns had markets. Suzy and Steve (and Alfie) were lovely hosts and we fully recommend it. It was exactly what we wanted.

We had a lovely stay at the house. Perfect for families. It’s quiet and remote. If you have a car there is plenty to do that’s close by. The house is beautifully restored and had so many amazing spots to hang out or chill. Several fireplaces, indoor and outdoor dining spots, very comfortable. Would recommend!

A peaceful place to unwind. The birdsongs were appreciated. Nice place to hike. Small shops accessible 5 minutes from the cottage by car. Clear and accurate instructions. Responsive host.

A beautiful little nest in the countryside away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it was a perfect place to unwind and get some rest, our host was lovely and helpful, and the castle grounds were simply gorgeous, definitely on our go-back-to list ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very welcoming, sympathetic house. It seemed as if the residents had gone away for a while for a message and would come back. Everything is present and works. Very nice television room (Roland Garros). Absolutely quiet location, you only hear nature and beautiful views over the hills.

Stéphanie is a host of rare kindness. She knew how to put us at ease so we could feel at home. His instructions before our arrival allow for a serene arrival. His well-appointed and tastefully decorated accommodation, surrounded by his magnificent little companions, offers a peaceful and exotic setting. Our dog was more than pampered, animals are really welcome! Thank you for hosting us and for the tips on where to go despite our short weekend.

A beautiful oasis of tranquility in the countryside in France. The garden was beautifully lush and you have views of vast fields from all sides (if you walk a little out of the garden). For food, it is useful to bring some with you before you get there, there is a small fridge, pans and a gas stove (among other things). It is nice to go to a market to get food, where and when they are you can ask Hubert & Victoria, they are very sweet people and very helpful. I came here to have complete peace and quiet and to paint, and I certainly succeeded. The surroundings are beautiful and I loved to put on music and then cook. The bed sleeps great and the shower is also very pleasant. Because the interior is so lovely, this really adds to the whole feeling. It is definitely suitable for a couple or family, but also for solo travelers.

The location of the house is fantastic, right on the lake in a secluded location. The decor matches the style of the house, so there is a pleasant, cozy atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped, house and laundry (towels, bed linen) very clean. The grounds are very spacious, beautifully landscaped and you can start beautiful walks from the house. The nearby Auberge was unfortunately closed and we would have liked some information material about restaurants in the area, especially since it takes a relatively long time to get to places, even for short distances, because of the route. All in all, we enjoyed the house, the tranquility, the wonderful nature and we had a relaxing time with our two dogs.

We had a great time with friends at La Brineraye. Very clean house with all the necessary amenities :) The pool and play area make all the difference! Caring and warm host. We'll be back next time!

We spent two restful days in this wonderful house and couldn’t be happier. It’s absolutely beautiful and we had everything we needed. The house is stunningly decorated and surrounded by nature, fields and animals. Eric was very helpful and picked us up from the train station. The stay was a unique experience that we never forget. A tranquil oasis in the middle of the Charente. Lee and Karl are great hosts and their Gite is immaculate and beautiful. Lee’s restaurant recommendations are brilliant and make sure you go and have cake at Gateaux!!

Alison and Costas are a dream team. Excellent hosts with a beautiful chateau for you to enjoy. Aline is great too. You’ll have a wonderful and relaxing stay. Great food and activity recommendations in the booklet. Be sure to visit all the markets you can, and try and eat at Le Flores- which was the perfect lazy lunch venue.

We have just returned from a great 5 night break at Patrice's place (Magnolia de Bonheur). The location is really very Impressive indeed. The view from the pool deck is superb. The Gîte was exactly as described and very comfortable. The general property is very rustic and peaceful - totally relaxing and calm. Patrice is a very kind and considerate host and was always responsive and helpful when we had a couple of queries. Les Hauts de Jeanvert is definitely to be recommended. Gorgeous house, hidden treasure in a beautiful, somewhat unknown area of France. The restoration and furniture are stunning. Fabulous hosting - Thanks for having us, we’ll be back
