Located 40 minutes from Big Bend National Park entrance, this is a launch point to explore the national park and other parks and communities.

We are very respectful of your privacy, and all of the facilities are yours to use. Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy the view, or visit with our livestock. We are pet-friendly. This structure is part of an overall experimental building project we have had going for 15 years. There are other structures on the property made from recycled materials including 'papercrete.' Free dust: it is the desert. You should not expect the Ritz Carlton, but if you have some flexibility and half a 'hippie bone' left in your body, this might be the place for you to expand. Come see us, share some travel stories and relax under and amazing milky way. No TV's in the room.

The Cowboy House is a charming one bedroom, one bath home with a full kitchen conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Alpine. It is perfect as a home base while you explore the surrounding areas of the Big Bend. Cowboy House features a rustic western theme indicative of the wild west era that is a rich part of the local history. Off street parking is available for guests. Cowboy House is pet friendly with advance notice and a pet fee.
