Situated between Carlisle & Dumfries - we are in the ideal place for a stop-over or half way holiday. We are lucky to boast on the fact we are so close to beautiful wedding hotspots. Kinmount House is 2.4 miles away & Gretna Green is only 12 miles away. We are with-in walking distance to Powfoot beach & the golf course. The closest town is Annan. Taxis are easy & quick if required, also the bus stop is outside. Our place is ideal for families & we welcome well behaved, housetrained doggies too!

Everybody loves The Old Fish House! With stunning river views it is a beautiful and peaceful cottage, yet a three minute walk from the nearest shop and the harbour. It is a great and relaxing base to enjoy the culture, coastal scenery or walking around the area. The house is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and we love well behaved dogs. There is a staircase between kitchen/diner and lounge so the cottage may not be ideal for children under 4 years old.

We would like to welcome you to our comfortable pet friendly accommodation in the heart of West Cumbria a short distance from Keswick , Penrith and Carlisle. Family and dog friendly stunning barn conversion.

Bookings are from Friday to Friday. 2 king size bedrooms, one ensuite with a further 2 single beds and wc on the mezzanine level. A bathroom with shower over the bath. Fully furnished kitchen with washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher. We have a dog secure garden and a shed to lock bikes in. We are between 10/30 mins from 3 of the 7stanes cycling trails and 6 miles from several beaches or hills for walking. You are 5 mins drive away from the market town of Castle Douglas.

Welcome to our idyllic riverside cottage. Nestled in the picturesque Dumfries & Galloway countryside and set on the banks of Cairn Water. The area is rich with wildlife. Red squirrel, deer, kingfisher, woodpecker, red kite, buzzard and otter are just a few of the local visitors spotted from our garden. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this stunning location. What an amazing experience and we could not have asked for a better stay! Superb memories were created here for us and our dogs! A stunning walk through the woods and into Ballantrae, 7 miles there and back but loads of wildlife to see and we would recommend. Lindsay and Chris were exceptional hosts and just lovely people! We cannot think of a better break that we have all enjoyed and cannot wait to return!

Our stay at Dunskey Estate was perfect. The cottage is quirky, decorated in a really interesting style which felt really homely. The grounds provided beach access, great walks and fishing at the loch. A great place to stay to explore Portpatrick and surrounding area. The hosts were really responsive too. We will definitely be back to visit.
