Cabin vacation rentals in Dumfries and Galloway

We had a lovely stay in Darren’s lodge! It is in a super peaceful and private location, but not too far from local amenities by car. Darren came to see us after we’d checked in to make sure everything was alright, which was a nice touch. The welcome pack with a small bottle of Prosecco, milk, etc was much appreciated! The lodge itself was perfect and very spacious, with the hot tub and log burner being the highlights. Plenty of wood and fire starting materials were provided for our stay too. After a rather cloudy day we were amazed to see the sky clear up at night from the hot tub to a beautiful display of stars. We also went to Culzean Castle one day for a wander around which we would recommend, only about a 30 minute drive away. All in all, we would highly recommend Darren’s lodge to anybody!

Great place and beautiful walks around. Log cabin was spotless and really nice to relax in the hot tub after a long walk. staff very friendly and responsive the only downside beeing the bed.... not comfortable and the pillows are really hard. we've asked for a matress topper and the staff was prompt providing it but unfortunately didn't made much difference. 10 out of 10 for the staff and the way the manage the holiday park! 100% recommend visiting Galloway Smokehouse and red deer range

Absolutely loved our stay here. Pictures do not do this place justice, easily one of the nicest if not the nicest AirBnb I’ve ever stayed in. Great amenities for 4 adults and a big big hot tub! It was so peaceful being able to look out of the windows / decking and watch the wildlife too. Can’t wait to revisit, thankyou!

The cottage was lovely, totally immaculate and just what we needed. We came as 2 couples and had a great time in the hottub and playing games in the cottage. The only thing I would say is when I clicked the link to go there on Apple Maps it took me to a location 25 minutes away from the cottage. But we got there in the end! Thank you for a lovely stay :) x

Great place to stay. Stayed at Pod 3, amazing view of the river, arrived very late and Catherine had the hot tub and pod all warmed up for our late arrival. Although the pod doesn’t get hot as such, hot water bottles were provided and a big fire pit was readily available. Failing that, a hot shower or a dip in the hot tub . Fantastic two nights away, will definitely be coming back!

A peaceful getaway, which was what we wanted. Cabin was spotless and had what we needed and the view was stunning. Hosts were friendly and approachable. Highly recommend!

We had an absolute peaceful stay at this stunning wigwam. The location is perfect & the wigwam is kitted out with everything you will need. The hot tub was amazing & the hosts couldn’t be anymore helpful! We cannot wait to come back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jozef has a beautiful holiday home. It was extremely clean and smelt wonderful when we arrived. Self-check in made it flexible to suit our arrival time, and we were provided with clear instructions. The holiday home was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. As advertised, the WiFi is almost non-existant, but that didn’t bother us as we wanted a detox style retreat. Jozef has provided many books and some games, as well as plenty of channels on the TV so there’s no chance of getting bored. The surrounding area is stunning, with plenty of activities on your doorstep. Despite it being a busy holiday village, it was always peaceful, with everyone being very friendly. Thank you Josef, we hope to stay with you again!

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the remote location, one car past about every 4 hours, nothing more. The thick, big luxury bath towels were the best we have every used, touches like that made the Shepards Hut feel like a luxury hotel!

We had a really enjoyable stay. It's a large, comfortable, warm and well equipped property in a fantastic location. We liked that there are walks to Kippford and Rockliffe from the front door and mountain biking in Dalbeattie Forest and wild swimming in Barean Loch are very close by. The best part, though, was the front deck, which was a sun trap even at the end of March, and from it we watched the Red Squirrels, Deer, Crossbills, Woodpeckers and lots of other Birdlife.

Amazing place to stay, we took 3 of our dogs and our son. Hot tub, amazing children’s play area, trampoline, swings, seesaw, 20+ go carts with track, play obstacle course, climbing frame, slide, basketball hoops and football nets. The pictures on the advert are outdated and don’t show the go cart track. A brilliant field specifically for walking the dogs, not fully secure due to gaps under the gate but great for dogs who will ignore sheep. Lovely pod with everything we could have needed, hot tub lovely and warm, amazing views. Picnic bench and parking space. Lots of towels available, comfy bed and pillows. Complimentary bottle of Prosecco, eggs and biscuits. Very happy with our stay! We went to The bridge end inn for tea, 2 nights in a row!! The food was absolutely fantastic, well priced but quality fresh cooked food. Booking is a must as they were very busy.

The lodge was absolutely gorgeous, cosy and clean. Very communicative hosts and really straight forward process checking both in and out. Loads of utensils and amenities available to use which is not always guaranteed in a self catering stay! Thank you so much, it was lovely ⭐️

We had a lovely long weekend stay in the caravan, beautiful location 2 minutes walk to the beach. Fantastic host, kept checking in on us even though she was away herself. Lots of kids books and games oyr girls were very impressed with. Would definitely book again 🙂

This is a lovely cosy place to stay, very peaceful location in beautiful surroundings. The lodge itself is very comfortable and has everything you need. Beds were particularly comfortable. Very warm if you need it to be and lovely seating to sit and watch TV. Outdoor seating for the good weather. Highly recommend!

Caravan was immaculate and had everything you needed. Was really homely and cosy. Nice short walk into town which had lovely dog friendly places to eat and drink. The hill going up to the caravan was very slippy as it had been raining, i had slipped on wet moss going out one morning so just to warn people to be mindful of this. Would definately return as we had a lovely stay.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Probably our best Air BnB stay of all time and we have stayed in many. Our dog was in her element with so much space to run around outside, she enjoyed the stay even more than we did. It was more dog friendly than I thought it might be, our Labradooodle Nancy would just potter about on the decking (which has a gate so she couldn’t run off) whilst we were in the hot tub. We had some nice meals out at The Dog and Gun (about a 40 min drive) and Farlham Hall (30 min drive, very fancy, but a great experience). We also had a couple of drinks at Pentonbridge Inn which is a one min drive away. We loved the welcome gifts, the bedding, the kitchen appliances, the log burner and the hot tub was just glorious next to the sound of the running river. I would absolutely love to come back, maybe in summer to see everything in full bloom, but there was something magical about it being cold outside and super cozy inside. The stay was perfect! A truly special place

We had a wonderful time! The accommodation was perfect with beautiful views into the garden where we spotted an array of birds, including a nuthatch and woodpecker! very comfy beds and everything we needed for our weekend break.

Fantastic stay at the sea cubby! A perfect place to recharge and relax, with amazing views, wildlife and lovely accommodation. It was a perfect size for us. Additionally, the cubby has been kitted out with helpful items that you need whilst away - tea, coffee, lovely linen and plenty of great local recommendations which we tried out. The place was super cosy as well considering the coastal location. Would love to come back.

Lovely caravan in a holiday park with everything you need. I highly recommend. Caravan itself is clean spacious and comfy. Wish we booked longer stay.
