The Garth

MarkRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We’ve all returned from a lovely week at the cottage - it was very clean and had everything that we needed; a real home from home. The beds a really comfortable and the bathrooms are amazing! The views are beautiful, great private garden and plenty of parking. The WIFI isn’t great but it’s probably to be expected as it’s a wee bit remote. On the positive, it was nice to have the children off their phones a bit more!

A lovely place hidden away off the A66, easily within range of Keswick and a great number of Northern Lakes Wainwirights. Comfortable and a haven away from some typical Lakeland weather!
A rustic wooden gate is featured, marked with a sign that reads 'Thorny Crag.' The background showcases a stone barn with large windows, set against a hillside with expansive views of the landscape beyond.

Thorny Crag, glamping barn

AryanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
If you're looking for a picturesque and peaceful getaway in Lake District's countryside, away from busy city life and off the grid, then Eleanor's barn is a brilliant option to consider. The barn is exactly as advertised and was prepared in a way which provided a perfect balance between an old school and authentic experience whilst not compromising on essential amenities like a good toilet, shower and clean water all over. The barn had it's own story and history which just added to our fascination. It is located in a secluded private land and you will need to walk about 20 minutes but it's worth it if you're looking for that peaceful countryside. We were in contact with James who helped transport our baggage during check in and check out. He was exceptionally passionate and will have plenty of recommendations for beautiful walks in the area should you decide to visit. Would definitely revisit!

Fantastic stay with beautiful views. Well equipped and clean. Very happy staying here with our toddler and Fiona and Mark were quick to respond to any queries we had. Our little one loved watching the red squirrels, lambs and sheep at breakfast and visiting the alpacas.

Little Meadow

DavidRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
What an amazing place! Susan’s home was lovely and located on a beautiful dairy farm. We were immediately welcome by her cats Lucky and Clover (who we adopted for our stay). Susan was always available to answer our questions and took us on a tour of the farm to meet the cows. The house was about 7 minutes from a great village called cockermouth which had pubs, restaurants and many bakeries. A little further and you are in keswick which is one of the bigger towns. We took a boat from there across derwentwater to the famous Catbells and also took a rowboat out on the lake. We also went for a beautiful walk around buttermere lake and a hike into the borrowdale valley. And we even popped over the border into Scotland. It was an amazing trip and a wonderful place to stay. Thank you Susan!!
A cozy seating area features a dark leather sectional sofa with decorative pillows. Natural light enters through a window adorned with a simple shade, illuminating a wooden TV stand and a rustic wooden door. The space offers a blend of comfort and functionality.

Enchanting cottage-and much more!

JackRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Raphaela and Steve were very helpful and pleasant. They encouraged us to let them know when we needed something. The cottage has a great bathroom and well-appointed kitchen and is very comfortable. We enjoyed the farm-like atmosphere—it’s so peaceful yet so close to amenities. And the grazing cows standing in the road to town were easily nudged with minimal mooing. We loved it!

Countryside barn conversion w/optional hot tub

AlisonRating, 5 stars1 week ago
My family and I had a lovely sray at Jade's house which is a couple of miles from Dalston. The house is beautifully decorated, very spacious and immaculately clean. The games room was brilliant for the kids. I even learned how to play table football with my granddaughter! The garden area was lovely, and the views very rural and peaceful. The kitchen was very well equipped, the only thing that would have been handy was a tea towel, usually we bring one ourself, but forgot. I definitely will be back one day!

Stunning barn minutes from the Lake District

HelenaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Lovely upside-down barn conversion (spacious living /dining/kitchen area upstairs), very characterful with the exposed roof beams and stone floors downstairs. Beautiful rural setting opposite the church and fields, and near a working dairy farm. We really loved our stay! Host was fixed any little issues quickly, and our family of 4 had a chilled out time when not exploring the Lakes.

Lynn’s charming Airbnb is everything you hope for when booking and then some. She is one of those rare host who really go above and beyond to make sure you are more than equipped for your stay, and the place is pristine and extremely comfortable. The location is in a beautiful area surrounded by lovely walls, and just a short drive to everything you need. You do need a car, but it was only ten minutes to pubs, groceries, and everything else you might need to grab. And of course you are in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, so you won’t run out of amazing things to do and see within a 30 minute drive. We will definitely be back! ❤️

Mount Farm - The Stable, self-catering with HotTub

LiamRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Beautiful place. Great scenery and animals all around as it’s on a working farm so that was lovely. Marj was lovely and very helpful and friendly as were everyone else we met there. I took my kids with me and they loved every minute. Plenty for them to do if they weren’t in the hot tub. When it’s clear on an evening the star gazing is amazing. The views in general are beautiful from the property. Would definitely stay again.

The Old Grainstore rural farm stay holiday cottage

RobynRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This has been the best air b&b we've stayed in, it was a beautiful property and location. Everything matched the description and there were no hidden surprises. In terms of having a young family it was a very accommodating place, Joanne has optional baby gates, booster seats, travel cot etc but she also had lots of indoor and outdoor toys for my two boys which made our stay alot less stressful as they were entertained whilst we were at the property. would 100% recommend to family and friends who are going to be visiting us up here.
