Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Downtown, Norfolk

This was our second stay at this Airbnb and we were incredibly glad we decided to book again! The place is exactly as described, has all the beach supplies so you don’t need to pack it all, is just a quick walk to beach (awesome with kids), and the view can’t be beat. Heidi was an extremely responsive host who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was fantastic - you can tell her priority is the guest! My family of 5 plus a grandma enjoyed lazy mornings on the patio, taking in stunning sunsets over dinner, and long days on the beach (bathroom breaks back at the house are a snap due to the close proximity). The outdoor shower with warm water is especially helpful with kids! We will be back at least twice this upcoming year. Thanks for another great stay!

Great hosts! Very receptive and quick to respond to any questions. House was very clean. Beach Chairs were available to walk across road for easy, not crowded beach access!

I had a wonderful stay at Lisa’s place! The house was spotlessly clean and looked exactly like the pictures in the listing. The huge backyard was a great bonus — spacious, well-kept, and perfect for relaxing. Lisa was a very responsive host, always quick to answer any questions, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Fresh linen and towels were provided, and I really appreciated the thoughtful touch of having a pack ’n play available for my baby — it made traveling so much easier. The listing was 100% accurate, and I’m super satisfied with my stay. I’d definitely recommend Lisa’s place and would love to return!

This tiny home was just the right size. My dogs loved the fenced in yard and my husband and I enjoyed the quiet location. Just close enough to the beach and restaurants. I would definitely consider going back!

This home stands out among the many air B&B’s I have stayed it. Emily and Abel provided many extras such as cold water and snacks when we arrived, beach towels for our use, dog food bowls for our dog, soft beds with plush throws to use at our leisure. The neighborhood is walkable filled with southern charm. Our family used this home as a gathering place for my son’s wedding. It exceeded my expectations.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Hidden Gem – Even Better in Person! I almost don’t want to write this review because I want to keep this place a secret! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away. The space is even more beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully designed than I expected. Every detail—from the decor to the cleanliness to the cozy atmosphere—was clearly done with care. The lighting, the views, and the overall vibe were all so much better than I imagined. It felt like a modern hotel but with all the comfort and warmth of home. The host was incredibly responsive and welcoming, which made everything even smoother. If you’re on the fence, trust me—this place will exceed your expectations. I’ll definitely be back!

There is not enough good things to say about this host and the location of the property…the property itself was just perfect…the historic district was very quiet and private right in the middle of everything! The Fairy right across the street opened a whole new realm of possibilities crossing the Harbor and being right downtown Norfolk! It was a 10 out of 10 for us! Very clean! Private Parking! An over accommodating host that was proactive in her approach to everything! I haven’t had a more pleasant experience in all my AirBnB experiences…when I visit this area again; this will be the first booking I look for!

If your looking for a place close to virginia beach to call “home base” this is the place! Easy to find and super clean, comfortable, and felt right at home

Pip was great! She responded well within the normal response time and was helpful with recommending restaurants in the area. She also provided soap which was something I missed in the amenities list. The location is great and the apt was well lit, very clean, and I felt safe walking in the neighborhood. I highly recommend this location as it’s not as crowded than being on Virgina Beach. We’ll be back before the summer is over. One note is that the apt is on the 3rd floor because the ground floor is for parking.

Nataly’s place was awesome! We’ve already discussed staying here again. It was close enough to the beach to walk, but far enough away that we could feel secluded & “safe” & away from the hustle & bustle.

My partner and I stayed for a week. He worked for a few days during the week we were there and was comfortable using the desk. We especially like the simple but very functional small kitchen. We also liked having two rooms with a door between them due to his work schedule. The neighborhood feels safe and is very close to the river with a great view of Norfolk. We walked to the ferry, walked downtown to eat, good antique stores and interesting beer nearby. Peaceful, quiet and a very comfortable bed!

My husband and I visited Steff's AirBnB on our Honeymoon and were beyond pleased! She provided so much for her guests, including eggs and bacon for breakfast!! Her space was so clean and welcoming. It was the perfect, quiet spot for us. I found the bed to be a little too firm for my personal taste, but I still got a decent enough night sleep and I will absolutely be back if we come down to Williamsburg again. The backyard was so adorable and peaceful! I only wish the weather would have been better to enjoy the fire pit and smores kit!! Thank you Steff for having us!

Lovely carriage house on large and private property, very quiet and peaceful. Nikki's home is elegant and delightful. When we arrived it was set up for our arrival with the most romantic and dreamy lighting with music, my husband and I were both delighted!! The apartment style carriage is well decorated with tasteful art and antiques. Nikki and her family were the perfects hosts, ensuring everything we (and our pups) needed during our extended stay. 100% would recommend to anyone traveling in the area, you will be well looked after by Nikki.

Monica your place was lovely beds were comfortable the house was just perfect felt just like home my husband and brother in law enjoyed their Father's Day getaway we have no complaints I will stay again

My bf and I stayed here for our anniversary and we loved it everything was just a 10/10 very private very beautiful we are definitely booking again within the next few weeks

The only issue we had was our code for the building and parking did not work at first! Pam was very quick to resolve! There are no elevators in parking garage, I would take my stuff in at the entrance and then park! Dolphin run staff was not much help! We had a second car that we were supposed to get a parking permit for. They just told us to park and not worry about signs that clearly stated towed with no permit. Our car did NOT get towed!

I traveled here from Pittsburgh with my three kiddos, and as a single mom this was a perfect location and a great spot. Very clean, lots of board games to play provided for you. I personally loved the extra towels!!! Will definitely be coming back to this location

Everything was great! The room was comfortable, clean, and the view was beautiful. It is in a great location with many restaurants in walking distance. Parking is close and convenient. We had a great trip and would recommend to others!

Nickie's place was excellent for our family of 4 adults and 1 toddler. It had all of the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay.

We needed a place last minute due to a booking that fell through, and Quinn graciously accommodated us within 30min of reaching out. Great location in the ViBe arts district, walkable to several coffee shops and restaurants, and less than 10min to the beach. Exactly what we needed! Hosts were very responsive to any questions we had. We loved it and would come back!

Tara’s place was great! It was super close to the beach along with great restaurants and shops. She had a book with recommendations of local places. We loved using the beach chairs, boogie board and cooler for our beach days!! Very quiet and clean space.

We have stayed at Randy's condo several times. The condo exceeded our expectations in every way. The pool is always a fantastic addition, providing us with a great opportunity to relax and unwind. The condo is well-maintained and clean. I appreciate Randy and his exceptional responsiveness throughout our stay. His prompt assistance and friendly demeanor were truly appreciated. We enjoyed our time there along with relaxing at the beach, watching the dolphins and the sunrise every morning. I highly recommend Randy's place and plan to stay there again.
