Orchard Brooke Cottage

My daughter and I spent a fun-filled week at this cottage in March. We were visiting family who live nearby and the location could not have been better! While a car is needed, it is very handy to Downpatrick/Newcastle. The cottage was spotless, and well-appointed. We were greeted with fresh milk, bread, and other goodies that had us well set up for our first morning. Both Colleen and Seamus are lovely and very responsive, and we almost dognapped Seamus's dog, Rosie- what a love! In addition to Rosie, we particularly enjoyed being able to spot the race horses having their morning workouts at the track which can be seen from the kitchen window. Looking forward to our next stay at the cottage!

The Stable Yard, Tranquil stay in beautiful Down

Emma and DavidRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We absolutely loved it here for a month over March/April. Beautiful views from the lounge onto their paddocks where Bailey their horse grazed and deer ran by. Everything in the home you needed was there. We could both lie down on the L shaped sofa to watch TV, read, play games here to borrow. Furniture outside to watch the sunset. Just watch your head going round the end of the bed - slopey roof, soon learnt!! Anne & Richard were friendly, helpful, responsive, happy to chat but left you to yourselves. I was allowed to help look after their wonderful horse Bailey. I wanted to either live there or take the horse home! Fantastic place. Lots of walks in the area from short flat paths beside rivers or 8 hour walks over the Mourn hills. Cafes, restaurants, bars, takeaways, churches, horse riding trekking or lessons, golf courses, ranges, sailing, shops for food, clothes, outdoor gear, riding stuff & much much more to do, see & buy within a few miles drive in Crossgar or Downpatrick.
