Beach house vacation rentals in Downhill Strand

We’ve stayed in many rental properties over the years and this was one of our all time favorites! The location can’t be beat- we tried to soak in the outdoors as much as possible. The view was breathtaking. Peter is an amazing host! He was so helpful during our stay and gave us recommendations to see the sights as well as restaurants. We had the best time and wish it was longer!! Book this place if you get the chance! We hope to be back!!

We stayed as an extended family for 5 nights and we loved everything about the house and the location. We were very lucky with the weather so spent time outside in all the seating areas in the garden surrounded by wild areas full of birds and butterflies. We spent time on the beach and the children loved it.

Even before we booked David was communicative and helpful. On arrival check-in was extremely simple, and the house was amazing. Decorated tastefully and in neutral colours my friend and I had an extremely relaxing stay Location can’t be beaten, it’s on a quiet road, very close to the sea With an easy 20 minute walk into town. We wanted for nothing, there’s a larger way of equipment, and great basics for cooking. David leaves an excellent guide to the amenities in the area with some very helpful tips and directions. On leaving, I managed to leave my passport and David went above and beyond sending it back to me, I’m eternally grateful for that.

Stayed here with other half and two boys (14y & 10y). House is well located within easy walking distance of the beach and the town as well as local shop. House is well decorated and has everything that you will need for a stay. Communication was brilliant. Garden is a lovely sun trap (even in april) in the evening and we were able to sit outside and watch the boys play swing ball. Would definitely recommend.

I decided to go on a road trip to celebrate my birthday, and staying at this Airbnb was definitely one of the best decisions we made. The photos don't show how incredible this place is, and it's much better than expected. I hope to go back there soon. Dave's house was perfect for our family. It was very clean and there was plenty of room, with the kitchen kitted out with everything you could possibly need. Only a few minutes walk from the beach which is one of the most beautiful on the North Coast. The house has the bedrooms on the ground floor which means you can see the beach from the living room and kitchen which are situated upstairs. Dave was really friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay at his place again. Thanks for a brilliant stay!

I booked Julie’s House for my brother-in-laws and their partners for my wedding. They absolutely loved the house, it had everything they needed and is in a fab location! Julie even allowed early check in so they could leave their bags in the house before the wedding. Thank you so much Julie!

Our second family stay at Mill House and we love it! Will nevet get tired of that view! We accidentally left a bag behind but were able to communicate with Ruth easily to get it sorted. 5 stars 🌟

We had a wonderful stay at Adeles lovely house, which was perfect for our family of 6. The house was in a very private and peaceful location with only a few minutes walk to the local beach. We cant recommend this place enough and Adele was a super helpful host. We will definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cashel Cottage. The location was fantastic, minutes from the beach yet also feeling nice and private. Also a very easy walk into Buncrana along the lovely waterside path. We hope to be back!

House is spacious and well equipped for families, we had a lovely trip

This accommodation is perfectly situated on the outskirts of Buncrana. Buncrana seamlessly accessible by foot. Beautiful beach or heritage walks on the door step with coffee docks conveniently located near the property. House is new build, very modern, spacious and comfortable. Ideal for large groups and families. Cannot recommend enough.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Christopher’s - house is in a great location with fabulous views - very quiet and relaxing. Property is spotless and v comfortable. Host was extremely helpful and made check in / departure v easy. Highly Recommend.

Alan and Hilary were most helpful, very responsive to my queries. Our friend joined us last minute so Hilary was able to advise us on our options, mainly that Manor House was more suitable as it was closeby. We also enjoyed having the fire pit for smores, with drinks bought from the local pub a hundred yards away! The sunshine for 2 full days was a bonus!!

What a wonderful stay we had at Tracey's holiday home. The house was very spacious, immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. The house is in a great location with plenty to do in the local area. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The place was stunning! We can't get enough of the sunroom and the sitting room facing the coastline. We had a very chill stay as the place was very cozy and there were lots of places to see nearby. As an introvert person, I love the idea of self check-in as it was easy and smooth. Place was spotless and everything was working. Even the kids adored the place as they have a playroom with toys too. They have cutleries and cooking tools as well which were very handy. Cheryl was very responsive with our queries. Several friends already asked about our stay as they find our photos beautiful too. Overall delighted to have stayed in their place and would definitely recommend!

Fantastic stay in Glenarm at very short notice! Home was clean and we felt at home straight away. Can’t recommend enough - Thomas was a brilliant host!

We stayed here for a large family gathering, place was great, lots of room and close to nice pubs and restaurants.

Ballycastle itself is a great centre for seeing the Antrim coast and Louise’s accommodation was excellent for a family group. The house was well equipped, spotless and well located for local shops and restaurants. Would definitely go back. Alison

Just back from a lovely weekend at Heather’s fantastic house. The whole property was really clean, tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. The enclosed back area was great for our dog and it was a super sun trap too. Great location, just a few minutes walk to the promenade and harbour. A proper 5 star letting, will definitely book again.

Our stay at Louise's lovely home was great. She thought of everything we could need. The location was great for getting around the North Coast and she had left treats for both us and the dog! Very thoughtful

Had a beautiful stay at Alfies,.. Clean and comfortable in a very quiet neighborhood... Enjoyed our few days... Thankyou Caroline for having us in Yr home ❤️
