Monthly Rentals in Douro

Wow! What an amazing place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Duoro River Valley. The villa was actually better than I imagined. Very modern and clean and spacious while at the same time authentic. The views were incredible and the breakfast plentiful. The hosts and wine tasting were delightful as well. Don’t hesitate to stay here!

Joaquim is wonderful… so gracious and helpful. Upon our arrival, he showed us the details of the apartment and pointed out the homemade cookies and puddings his mother has made for us! He also offered us excellent wine, port, coffee, tea and more. We instantly felt right at home. The apartment is fabulous and perfectly located for fun in the Douro Valley. We drove to Pinhao stopping to taste different wines and ports along the way. We also took a long hike through the vineyards to a town at the top of a hill with fabulous views. We were blessed with perfect weather during our one full day there. Douro Valley is stunningly beautiful and Joaquin’s apartment is too!

Studio apartment opens onto garden patio with fantastic views. Dinner and wine tasting provided by hosts (for a fee) was a highlight. We really enjoyed our 2 hour hike through public paths through vineyards.

Staying with Paolo was truly one of the most heartwarming experiences we’ve ever had on our travels. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us not just as guests, but like old friends or even family. He spoiled us with delicious local wine, amazing cheese, a comforting homemade soup, and the most wonderful cake—but more than anything, he shared his warmth, kindness, and genuine care. Every detail of our stay was infused with love. Paolo went above and beyond in every way, and his hospitality made us feel deeply at home. It wasn’t just a place to sleep—it was a place to feel held and cherished. If you’re lucky enough to stay with Paolo, you’re in for something truly special.
