Vacation rentals with a kayak in Douro

Liliana’s home is perfect for a family holiday. We had mixed age groups and the downstairs bedroom and bathroom is good for older generation with easy access. We were by the beach for walks and nearby was a cafe and restaurant for evening meals and morning coffees and cakes. We got Ubers into Porto which were very easy to get and reasonably priced. You can have busy days in Porto and quieter evenings in the house in Gaia which suited us perfectly. Liliana was a fantastic host who organised a cab for us from the airport. Any questions we had she provided quick answers and helpful tips. I would definitely recommend the house and host. Just for info - We took a bus tour in Porto for 48 hours would take the bus to the point closest to the house and grab an Uber from there which worked out cheaper.

Carla and António were the best hosts we could have wished for. Friendly, helpful, making us immediately feel at home. The house is beautiful and the wonderful farm, far from everything, which makes it the ideal space to rest and spend some beautiful days. The friendly animals were cherry on cake, our baby loved it!

We rented the entire villa for 9 days for 6 guests consisting of family & friends. Alessandro made every aspect of or visit pleasant and guided us through everything we needed to know about the house and the area. He’s the kindest of hosts and considerate of guests privacy as well. I highly recommend OLA Guesthouse.

For those who want peace, quiet and a few days away from the hustle and bustle, this is the ideal place! With a privileged view over the Douro, barbecue and a pool that reached 29º, what more could we ask for? The house was clean, the air conditioning and Wi-Fi worked smoothly and they left us some treats (more than was even needed) for our breakfast. Thank you! The host was super accessible, friendly and concerned and took us on his boat for a ride on our beautiful Douro River. I highly recommend it!

Modern building in a peaceful village. Bright and spacious apartment. Very quiet surroundings. Very clean and modern flat. Fast and reliable WiFi, smart-tv and a comfy sofa. Beds with new mattresses. Fully equipped kitchen, automatic coffee maker, dishwasher, electric kettle. You will need a car to get around, though. Small and well equipped store in walking distance, restaurants easily reached by car. Silvia was super friendly and always there when needed, but very discreet. She gave us valuable information on the surroundings and interesting things to see, like Águeda and Aveiro. We felt very welcome and like at home. We can fully recommend Avelino's place. This villa exceeded our expectations, and was well appointed to accommodate our needs. We were two families totally 4 adults and 4 kids, and the size was perfect. Outdoor amenities were great, including pool, bathhouse, picnic and barbecue area. The property was very private, and there was a Marina Bar next door that has great food (the burger is one of the best I've had). The only two downsides, which didn't impact my rating was that the wifi didn't work well (I had my own hotspot, and you might want to disconnect) and the beds are firm (seems common in Portugal, because we had a very similar experience at another place). We were looking for a place that was central to northern Portugal, and this worked out great (less then 30 mins to Porto). Being right on the Duro river was very relaxing. We were also able to experience folk dancing (rancho) next door at the marina one night, which was a great cultural experience.

If you are looking for a secluded, quiet, peaceful place, then you need to stay at Cesar's House. The sounds of the stream, the quiet neighborhood and get to stay what was a medieval mill gives you the feel of history. Cesar was great. He met us to greet us at our arrival. Treated us to breakfast with croissants, Portuguese patries, and breakfast drinks. The house has all the amenities you need for your stay. There are stores and restaruants within easy walking distance. I felt safe day or night at Cesar's. Can't say enough. Cesar was easy to communicate with as well. Highly recommend!

It is a very nice house, located in a peaceful environment. Gloria's welcome was very cordial and owners Ana and Victor were available to let us know what to do when we arrived in the evening. We came there 5 years ago and will be back if possible.

We chose this place for a little escape by the end of our busy season and to celebrate a birthday. We wanted a hut, peace and nature. We got it here. The hut served our purposes for the short stay with all the amenities you need, including heating. The views were breathtaking and the location is out of this world. During the day (a week day) one could only hear birds and the nighttime is one of the most peaceful you can get. Of the sky is clear, it's perfect to watch shooting stars. Would be back at anytime for a longer term.

We are very very thankful to Helena and Luis. They are very sweet, helpful and amazingly kind. We felt right at home in this absolute stunning place. It is a bit difficult to find, but Helena was a great help. We LOVED it and enjoyed it to the max! We will be back for sure!

Amazing place with a breathtaking view of the Douro! In addition, possibility of kayaking!! This place is sublime and very soothing.
