Monthly Rentals in Donore

We had a wonderful stay at the Stables. Rosie was very responsive and accommodating. This made our check-in and stay stress free. Me, wife and teenage children felt right at home and slept comfortably. The house is well furnished and nicely decorated. The kitchen is spacious with a large refrigerator, dishwasher, pots, pans, etc, that made it very easy to prepare some of our meals. There is a small grocery store a short distance from the Stables stocked with basic foods such as milk, bread, meat, fruits and vegetables. The location is beautiful and peaceful. We spent one clear evening gazing at the stars which are clearly visible given that lack of light pollution in the area. You feel remote, but it is only a short drive to the coast and to all of the amenities in Drogheda and other towns. Internet service is excellent which made it easy to stay connected and to stream videos. I highly recommend the Stables.

This is a magical place in every detail. The location is unbelievable. Set your alarm for dawn for a spectacular view over Newgrange. The whole place is better than I imagined, don’t miss the peacocks or the river! Live out your cottage countryside fantasy or finish your novel (I did). The Airbnb is the old school type that’s hard to find nowadays. Everything is chill and the hosts are friendly and helpful. It’s not a hotel or b&b and there is no staff just people opening up their home. You cook your own food in the amazing kitchen, pick up your supplies in Slane before arriving at the local butcher and veg shop. I’ll definitely come back.

Whatever excellent review you read, fails to fully describe the quality, charm and beauty of Connell’s Barn. Karla, went through heroic efforts to restore these special landmarks in the Duleek community. (Barn & House). Duleek is a bit of a pass through town, for commuters to Dublin. Hence, there is busy traffic - but it calms right down at night. Also, the barn is so well constructed, you don’t really hear the traffic. Karla has provided so much information about the restoration as well as places in the community to visit and dine. The Tribe has been our favorite since it opened. Somehow, we didn’t realize we could walk there when we made the booking. We feel it is the best AirBnB we’ve ever rented. I can’t say enough about how honored we were to be Karla’s guests.

PROS> cosy interior. private. access to lots of land and public walks at the front door. Decor that doesn't get boring. lots of things to do within a short drive. Good restaurants, cafes and takaways within short drives. pet friendly. picturesque beauty in all directions. CONS> no central heating system so it's cold (we stayed in April) there is an Aga cooker and Wood burner downstairs electricheaters in the bedrooms once they all get going its not bad, the bathroom is baltic nothing you can do about it. it does say on the listing that there is no washing machine and dishwasher but I'd like to come again and stay for longer and I think this is a must especially for the price. also its very cluttered with old condiments in the kitchen they need all thrown out. the patio could do with a brushing and tidy up. plus there is an old bath tub sitting in the bush up beside the pink chair. lastly the fridge and frezzer is too small if staying for a week.
