A recently renovated 120 year old workers cottage, set off the main road with private parking and a large back garden that leads directly to the beach. On a high tide the sea can come within a metre or so from the bottom of the garden. Whilst the beach is a public space it is typically only utilized by the residents due to the limited access points along the shore. We have such a wonderful time at Kevin’s place!!First of all the communication was fantastic,Kevin gave me lots of tips of things to do and was very helpful throughout our stay,so glad we got to meet him on arrival and he pointed out loads of places to explore from his decking,also got to meet the gorgeous cooper for some dog cuddles:)The place had chilled music on when we arrived and it was super clean and cosy,just ideal for relaxing,bed was super comfy and Kevin had left lots of lovely treats for us including Easter eggs and prosseco :)The place is in the most beautiful setting with a view of the water and Gunns island,short walk from Ballyhornan beach and a bar,the other side is Killard nature reserve which for us was the highlight and you can do a good walk from Kevin’s place and the beach is stunning,lots of wildlife and beautiful orchids everywhere,went to the Barn restaurant in Saul about 7 miles away and had some incredible food!Highly recommend Kevin’s place!!Def be back:)

A brief stay but we wished it could have been longer. Beautiful scenery, pristine accommodation, fabulous hot tub. We walked Slieve Donard and visited Tollymore Forest Park, both fabulous. Best ice cream at Morellis, fish and chips from McCanns also very good. We would love to visit again!

The loft was gorgeous! The bedroom, bathroom and living areas were pristine, spacious and very comfortable. Victoria had left the hot tub on for us to use at our leisure which was such a treat. She was always contactable and helpful and was so thoughtful with the welcome box of snacks. We had a stunning time at the loft and would be delighted to visit again.

Anne’s place was beautiful inside and out. We got there at night, so it was great seeing the view we had the next morning. Anne left us some eggs, milk, butter and bread so it was very nice to not have to worry about breakfast our first morning there. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

Our visit to Anne’s beach cottage was absolutely wonderful. This was our 2nd visit to the cottage as we loved and enjoyed it so much on our previous visit. Its location is ideal right on the beach and close to a golf course and a few restaurants and shops. It’s not far from visiting other locations such as the Mourne mountains, Belfast and surrounding areas. This place is well suited and perfect for a small family including children. Anne was absolutely wonderful as our host and can help you with anything during your stay. Her dog Coolie was welcoming and entertaining for our 4 year old. I would certainly recommend this place and would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. Staying here is our best Airbnb experience to this date.

communication before and during our trip was excellent. Our host went above and beyond for us..not only was homemade sodabread, Jam and the basic necessities available we arrived to Easter buns too. one of our children had a yearning for mango pepsi which he'd tasted before in NI and several trips and phonecalls by our host were made to try find him a can! we arrived to a cosy fire lit by him and he offered many occasions to light it and got the snooker room ready for us which was a great hit with the kids. lovely space outside to play and even enjoy the Easter egg hunt. our sleeping arrangements were great...privacy for parents and plenty of space to sleep for 4 kids if the sofa bed is used. all said they slept well in comfortable beds. I would recommend staying here ..great base for Strangford lough...Newtownards and Newcastle for climbing Slieve Donard. thankyou hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Beach Shack, it was truly a little haven. The cottage is extremely well stocked with everything you could possibly need - Natasha is such a thoughtful host! Along with the fairy lights, the cosy interior and incredibly comfy beds, it was a very relaxing stay. We were sad to leave but will definitely be back.
