FLAGPOLE luxury smart family home + private annex

ValRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We had a wonderful Christmas week at Flagpole Cottage. The hosts' home was clean, welcoming and extremely well-equipped. We had everything necessary for preparing family feasts, having a wood fire, plenty of bathrooms and comfortable beds. Robin and Francine even left a beautifully decorated real Christmas tree for us the enjoy (and put our presents under), a very thoughtful touch. We enjoyed the hot tub and trampoline (we were lucky with the weather, cold but not rainy) as well as the local walks to pubs. We bought our Christmas turkey (ordered in advance) at the fabulous Flower Farm shop, which is nearby and is a great source for all things edible. Robin and Francine's guide to local amenities and activities is thorough and quite useful. Robin was very attentive and open to queries but everything was so clearly laid out we didn't really have any questions. One last thing - the gardens are exceptional - even in December! I was in awe - especially the topiary. The old yew trees! xx

Lux Seaside Cottage West Sussex, now with Hot Tub!

JulietRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Property is in a great location, close to beach, restaurants, cafes etc. Beds were really comfortable and the lounge/dining area was a great space for our group of 7 adults to socialise. Kitchen had plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc. Had a lovely meal out at "The Seaview" hotel. We hope to return.

Ingram House -Georgian Farm House with Hot Tub

MichelleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Ingram House is a beautiful house with an amazing, beautiful garden. We had a wonderful stay.Antonio responded to all messages quickly but the star of the check in/communication whilst there was Shirley the wonderful housekeeper.Such a lovely lady, who made contact before we arrived to confirm all details, meet us for check in and check out and responded to any queries during our weekend. The house has 5 bedrooms/2bathrooms upstairs and 1 bathroom plus additional toilet downstairs. A great kitchen,a lounge with seating for everyone plus a delightful dining room. To us the best place was the garden. At least 5 different ‘spaces’ to sit with tables and chairs, a great BBQ area by the kitchen, its just a beautiful, relaxing garden where we sat and enjoyed the afternoon (we were lucky with the weather). The only slight downside to us was the road noise. The windows at the front of the house have secondary double glazing which helps to reduce the noise. We would happily stay there again
A spacious spa area is featured, showcasing a sunken hot tub surrounded by marble-tiled floors and mirrored walls. Large windows allow natural light to fill the space, offering views of the greenery outside. A wooden seating area is positioned nearby.

Cottage in Historic Village and Hot Tub

JamesRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Wendy-Jane was an exceptional host, her home was beautiful and very cozy, with a gorgeous and very friendly cat. We loved the surroundings and the scenery. Wendy had a stunning selection of books on her shelves and CDs in her collection. The home was perfect for us, and we would love to return. The hot tub is an great addition and it was lovely to chill out in at the end of the day. There's lots to do in the surrounding area with a very charming in right opposite the house and another pub down the road with an abadondoned castle next door. And a short drive from both Hastings and Eastbourne made for a perfect weekend get away!!

Simply lovely South Downs Shepherd hut

JekabsRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
For people who like nature and hiking this is a jam! Easy to get there from London either going to Lewes (30 min walk) or Brighton (3-4h hike with great views). The sauna is the cherry on top after a long day out in the nature. Sian was very friendly and welcoming, and gave us plenty of suggestions. The hut is cozy with comfortable bed and good board game selection for late evenings. Local people are very friendly and it is lovely to walk to the nearby pubs along the hiking path. We highly recommend to visit The Abergaveny Arms, food is something else! Also Off the Wagon pop up pub is great. We will definitely come back.

Benny was really great with communication as I booked very last minute! She also kindly let me check in much earlier and I also checked out a little later due to my own fault of not realising checkout was at 10am! The place is spotless and is well equipped, there were breakfast items left which was thoughtful and generous of Benny. The location is beautiful and peaceful - lots of cute lambs and ponies and even deer! A short drive takes you into forest row where you have a good selection of shops

The Bothy @ Brightling Park Estate

VinceRating, 5 stars2 days ago
The Bothy is an amazing space in a fantastic location. Quiet, tranquil and definitely off-grid. Helena was a welcoming, friendly and helpful host who provided everything we needed. The Bothy is beautifully appointed and very relaxing to inhabit. There are many places to visit locally if you can tear yourself away. This place is absolutely ideal for people looking to get away from it all. It is described as "off-grid" and it is - so make sure you take fully-charged power banks. We will definitely return!

JoanneRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Our stay with Caroline & David was great. Very friendly, helpful & were always willing to help with anything. The property & gardens were amazing & safe for our dog Olive who does like to wander every nook & cranny. The bottle of bubbly, crisps, home made jams, & Olive’s doggy treats were most welcome & a nice touch. Thank you! We made the very most of our stay regarding sightseeing & it was always nice to return to our dwelling at the end of the day. Hope to return in the future.

Calf Shed, fully accessible farm cottage with pool

KevinRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We enjoyed a 3 day mini break at the Calf Shed cottage with our 2 children and dog. The cottage itself was nice with open plan kitchen and comfy seating area, and a private garden area which was great for the kids and dog. A big bonus was the heated pool with stunning views. The weather was not great but the heated pool meant we could still use it, which is a short walk from the cottage. The kids also enjoyed the trampoline and table tennis. The main barn was not rented during our stay which meant we had sole use of the pool and play equipment. There was no welcome pack/booklet however the host Alison was quick to respond to questions (wifi password, bin locations, etc). Other comments is the double bed was actually 2 single beds which the kids commandeered and signs of wear and tear here and there. However overall a pleasant trip.

The Wing at Pekes

ShahidRating, 5 stars1 month ago
A really unique place in lovely grounds. As a family with young children the facilities made the stay for us. The Wing itself is nice full of character in terms of the architecture and decor. The place was clean, comfortable beds, kitchen had the essentials. Only thing I’d say is the bathroom and kitchen could do with a simple modernisation but really nothing to worry about, everything worked fine. The family say they would return so that’s the ultimate verdict.

Perfect place for our family of four to stay for a peaceful and secluded retreat for a couple of nights. The cottage was lovely and the grounds and surrounding garden were beautiful. Super friendly and always clear and responsive with communication. Would love to stay here again some time and hope we get a chance to do so!

Country house with grounds near Lewes/Brighton

HannahRating, 5 stars10 months ago
This is an accurately described, beautiful home in idyllic countryside. The house is spacious and very stylishly furnished with vintage furniture and artwork. Ideally there would be one or two more bathrooms with showers - we knew this before staying of course - it just means more planning of showering with a larger group of people staying. We especially loved relaxing in the garden room with the gorgeous views of the garden and rolling hills beyond. We were incredibly lucky with the weather so definitely made the most of having a pool and pizza oven and BBQ. And we picked fresh figs off the tree by the pool, delicious! The kids loved the trampoline and table tennis. Enzo was great and prompt at communicating with us. We appreciated the local recommendations - we enjoyed lunch at the Jolly Sportsman, coffee at Cafe du Jardin and a mooch around all the antiques shops in Lewes. A very comfortable house to enjoy with three generations of our family.
