Family-friendly vacation rentals in Didcot

We thoroughly enjoyed the house and location. Although not Sians issue, construction near the train station makes it difficult to get into town by taxi because you have to go around the city. However, if you don’t mind walking and bicycling, there are exceptional bike and walking paths right out to the house from Oxford. I’d stay again in a heart beat.

We absolutely loved our stay at rectory retreat, the setting was beautiful and it was so peaceful. The accommodation had everything we needed and was very cleverly thought out. The hot tub looking out onto open fields under the stars was the cherry on the cake! Would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a lovely and comfortable stay at Liz's house. She has been very kind and really helped us enjoy our stay at her place. House was clean, communication fluent and the garden is amazing. Our kids loved playing the toys in the house

Fabulous stay, lovely location! Very peaceful, everything we needed was provided. Lovely touch that the hot tub was heated prior to our arrival and a birthday banner had been put up for our stay! Also booked the double red duke on their recommendation and it was lovely! Hosts were responsive and helpful but also left us to enjoy our break! We will be back to stay again!

Lizzy's place was wonderful. We were only there for a weekend and I would love to go back for a longer stay. There was plenty of space and the hot tub was a bonus. The property is also close to some very pretty villages and towns - highly recommended!

I was greeted by the host, let in to the property ,showed around and free to ask any questions. host is very friendly, and approachable. We loved to be able to use their garden (my son played there football for a bit, we looked at the chicken and horses. Host also explained easily accessible forest behind their property-perfect for a walk with our pooch before we left. Kitchen has everything you need, bed is very comfy, bathroom was good too. Will return one day again. we loved our short stay, thank you.

Lovely place and so convenient for everything in Stow. Walkable to shops, pubs and restaurants which were all lovely. Great location for travelling around other parts of the Cotswolds too. Very comfortable inside and has everything you’d need to stay for a weekend or longer. We have saved some places to see so that we can stay again. Would highly recommend. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Location was good for exploring the local area. Beware if you are tall, there are a couple of low doorways. Very comfortable stay.

Perfect place to stay in lovely peaceful surroundings, lovely walks into the village with a couple of pubs, Toby and Maddy were super helpful and friendly and made us feel at home, Coach House was presented very well and exactly as described, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

My family loved our stay at Old Forge. Our children— aged 4 and 7– had a blast running around the yard and having their own secluded room on the upper level. We all enjoyed the rustic wildlife decor and the lovely view of the field. The cottage was cozy yet spacious, and the kitchen was well-equipped. Make sure to get dinner at the local spot— The Golden Ball Inn! Stow was a very short drive away with plenty of nice shops and restaurants and a Tesco for our grocery needs. We didn’t end up getting a chance to walk the paths nearby, but we saw plenty of spots we could have done so— and with any luck someday we can return to Old Forge and get to walk around. I’d highly recommend Old Forge for anyone staying in the Cotswolds, esp with children!

Very comfortable, clean and well provisioned cottage. We enjoyed our stay. Southrop is in a very peaceful corner of the Cotswolds. We enjoyed the Swan pub, local walks, Kelmscott and Chedworth. It's maybe worth knowing that there is a cottage right next door so you may see and hear people right by the windows that run along the back of the cottage and the Gardener has a base in the garage right outside the cottage doors which led to a lot of machine noise and dog barking on a couple of days - though this may have just been bad luck! The weekend was very quiet. Overall, it didn't detract from a very nice stay but I didn't quite realise from the house description.

What a great setting for an escape to the country! I already miss waking up with the chickens and pigs to greet me every day. I also saw more wild animals and birds in my walks around here in a week, than I have in years in London. Auriol is a great host, relaxed, knowledgeable and friendly, and the property is exactly as described and shown here. Tips for other travelers: If you’re a light sleeper bring an eye mask and earplugs as it does get sunny in the main bedroom. Looking forward to returning here!

Thank you for a wonderful stay. Beautiful home - as per the photos and listing. It was obvious that a lot of thought and care had gone into the set-up. Everything in the home is high-end with gorgeous beds bedding. Lots of local info provided which makes us want to return to explore more! Dog-friendly and well set-up. A great base for a few days of local commitments. Would highly recommend.

Miranda's cottage is very well situated and set up for doing as we did - enjoying the local area, taking advantage of hot summer days by the pool, and walking in the woods with kids. Highly recommended for families of 4 or even more if you're prepared to really use the space. My kids were very happy sleeping in the twin beds, and we were able to use every inch of the place.

The house was lovely, had everything you could possibly think of for a comfortable stay. We stayed with three kids (one baby) and it was just perfect. Our kids LOVED the pool (super warm and Just right for the kids) and the games room. The welcome basket was amazing and super generous- best gift ever!

Nicky was a great host and the house was very clean, well kitted out and a lovely relaxing place to stay. My girls loved the tennis court and we would definitely visit again.

Our second time at this gorgeous old cottage. Felt at home. So peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful area with fantastic walks and pubs. Would highly recommend if you are looking to get away and want a traditional cottage to relax in.

We were a family party with ages from 5 to 75 . Lots for everyone to do ( swimming , tennis, billiards/snooker & beautiful walks all there) There was enough space both inside the wonderfully converted barn and outside in the extensive grounds to enjoy each others company without being overcrowded. Thanks Sarah for enabling a lovely weekend .

I’d like to thank gardener Rex for answering all my questions throughout my stay. Without you Rex, it could have been tricky to communicate. Anyway, I and my family had a good time at Christopher’s place. It’s a place for both peaceful break or active sporting time. Great garden for a calm walk throughout a day, great pool with a hammam(a steam sauna), a tennis court…my family really enjoyed all the facilities. Also kitchen was really well equipped and a welcome bread and milk were delicious! Location was also great. Famous Cotswold big name spots, restaurants, farm markets are within 20 min by car.
