As Wallingford is the last home of the 'Queen of Crime' Agatha Christie, we have themed our bijoux cottage apartment in memory of her. The ground floor apartment is styled in a modern version of 'Art Deco' as depicted in many of her books and films. You'll find artwork that are clues to names of her books, as well as an antique typewriter, telephone, camera, magnifying glass and other curiosities to delight and intrigue. The apartment has two bedrooms, the master bedroom is ideal for a couple and the second room for one person, or a child, or two small children. There is an open plan living and kitchen area overlooking the small walled garden. In the living room we have a fireplace with a lovely wood burning effect stove, a large three seater velvet sofa, breakfast bar, Echo Dot (speaker) and a large TV with Netflix & Amazon Prime on as well as terrestrial channels. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm, even a tea pot if you decide to invite over Miss Marple. The kitchen is well equipped with a washer dryer, large fridge freezer, toastie maker, spices, kettle, toaster, Nespresso machine and plenty of storage space. Our beds are hotel standard and we have made the beds with 400 count cotton bed linen. For those that suffer with allergies our duvets and pillows are made from luxurious Microfibre which feels ‘Just like Down’. We've recently installed new double glazed windows as well as black out curtains as we know how important a good nights sleep is. Although we stated two double beds, to be clear one is bed is a small double bed. Our Art Deco styled bathroom, has a walk-in shower with a big rain shower head as well as a held shower. And large soft cotton towels. The small garden has a couple of chairs and a table.

Our newly renovated self contained studio is attached to our home and is situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of clifton Hampden. We are a five minute walk from the Thames footpath which is perfect for enjoying this beautiful stretch of the river either towards Wallingford or Oxford. The studio has an equipped kitchen area and separate shower room. There is parking and the studio has its own separate entrance. The decor is modern and clean with a cosy ambiance.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst working in Oxford. Beautiful location next to the River Ock, 5 mins from Abingdon and 20 mins from the Park and Ride to Oxford. I had everything i needed for my short stay in a clean and well equipped Studio. Lawrence left clear and precise instruction in how to gain access so check in and check out was easy. Unfortunately i didn't have chance to meet Lawrence in person but did see him on his ride on mower cutting the lawns! Definitely would stay again if working in the area. Thanks, Harvey

We had a lovely stay at Lesley’s place - the annexe itself has a nice ‘home-y’ feel to it, and the surrounding neighbourhood is very pleasant. The check-in information was provided super-detailed and helpful. Plus, using the stair lift was an interesting experience! (Entirely optional, but apparently encouraged!) All in all, a great place to stay and a great host - would highly recommend.

The apartment is in a very convenient location, within easy walking distance of the town centre and the banks of the Thames in one direction, and beautiful agricultural countryside in the other. Access to Oxford is only about 15 minutes away via train from the nearby Radley station. There’s a small Tesco store very conveniently situated about 10 minutes’ walk from the apartment. The apartment itself was very comfortable to stay in, the décor is modern and spotless, and the kitchen is excellently equipped for home cooking. The bathroom has a bathtub, always a great plus. We had no problem with getting the access key from the keybox, and there was usually parking space available in the dedicated space at the front of the building. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartment.

An absolutely beautiful place to stay in a really quiet and private area. Only downside is that it didn't have the listed Nespresso machine, but Emily said that she is getting it replaced and she left some (nice) instant coffee in its place.

Our 2nd stay here, its spotlessly clean, easy to reach, convenient to find and to get to town. Communication with Teresa and Paul is excellent.

It was a perfect location, quiet and close to the city. The neighborhood was really clean, and there were convenience stores and cafes nearby, so I was able to stay without any inconvenience. The inside of the accommodation was also very clean and well-equipped with everything I needed, making it a perfect space for 2-4 people. Above all, the host was really kind, so I was able to stay comfortably from start to finish. I want to visit again next time!

The apartment was even better in reality than in the photos - lovely decor and comfortable beds/sofas. As we had lovely weather for our weekend stay , we sat outside on the rooftop terrace relaxing at every opportunity, listening to birdsong and lake-watching the wildlife. We hadn’t appreciated the amount of activities on offer at Lower Mill Estate but used the outdoor heated pool, recliners and sauna before we checked in - it really started our weekend in relaxing mood. We went to Ballihoo restaurant during our visit and this was a great family restaurant, very casual with good food - a few minutes walk from the accommodation. We did some Cotswolds sightseeing on the Saturday and it was lovely to know our penthouse and sundeck was waiting when we returned in the afternoon. Jane recommended a local restaurant for the Saturday evening and we weren’t disappointed- the food was absolutely delicious and it made the weekend perfect. Jane & Nico - thank you for everything:-)

I stayed at the flat for 5 weeks while I was completing my work training nearby in Kidlington. It was perfect for me as it was completely self contained & had everything I needed to feel safe & comfortable while I was studying. I want to thank Richard & his Dad for being so friendly & welcoming during my stay. Everyone at the pub was always friendly & Fly (the black lab) always barked her hello’s to me every day followed by lovely kisses. If I ever had any issues which was rare there was always help provided. I would 100% recommend this airbnb to anyone for a short term or long term stay! The only thing I would bear in mind is that there is no freezer if you are staying long term. Otherwise it was perfect, all the amenities worked great & the bed was sooooo comfy. All in all a great stay!

Friendly, welcoming and she will do her best to make you feel at home. Swindon is a quiet place but Sall place is full of life. Thank you Sall for being such an amazing host. I always stay with Aakanksha when I'm in Reading. The property has all the essential amenities and is only 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The place is clean and warm and homely. The host is a fantastic host. She goes out of her way to help you. She's very helpful with quick and easy communication. And she makes check in very easy and stree-free. I'm always made to feel welcome. I would recommend staying with Aakanksha if you're staying in Reading. Brilliant host.
