What an amazing stay! This cozy guest house was absolutely perfect for our time in the Lake District. We particularly appreciated the quiet surroundings and the lovely details that included a very generous and tasty welcome basket. The suite was well appointed with beautiful linens, a hot shower and a very comfortable bed. Alister was very quick to respond to our messages and all of his recommendations were spot on. We especially loved the Buttermere and Ullswater hikes. The only thing we would have changed was to have booked a longer stay. Thanks, Ali, for a fabulous experience!

David’s place is a fantastic little cottage which was brilliant for our family of four (boys 4 and 6). The house was spotless and as described. The surroundings are very peaceful, nestled a short walk from the centre of the small village of Dacre. David was very proactive and responsive when messaging and I would strongly recommend his cottage for a fantastic Lakeland stay! We would love to return at some point.

We stayed here on our trip to the Lake District along with our dog. The place is perfectly located very close to Penrith and Ullswater with easy access to other villages and towns of the Lake District. It’s a perfect place for a couple made cosy with a functional fireplace. The welcome biscuits showed great hospitality. John was very helpful in giving some local tips - the recreation ground down the street was our dog’s favourite playground on the trip. The hotel and restaurant next door was dog friendly and had awesome food as well as service. Julia was very friendly and helped us with the other house facilities (washing machine and dryer). In brief, it’s gem of a place!
