Vacation rentals in Custer

I only stayed for one night as I was just passing through on a road trip, but I very much enjoyed this rental. The owner was very helpful and responsive and even accommodated an early check in, which of course I was unable to make, but the gesture was much appreciated.

Paula and her family are wonderful hosts. They stay in the small home on property and you really don’t even know they are there. Paula shows the best amount hospitality. Stella ,their dog is the sweetest. They keep her on their part of the property. The cabin is one of the cleanest airbnbs I’ve stayed in. Paula keeps a fully supplied kitchen with all you would need, if you like to cook your own meals. There’s a little ‘echo’ for playing your favorite music. Out in the backyard is a great hot tub. Privacy and having a peaceful experience is their M.O. We certainly had a peaceful and private experience. Paula makes great recommendations for anywhere you’d like to go from sight seeing & hiking to meals out. We went to the best coffee place in town on her recommendation and had to go everyday from the first time on. We went everyday for 1 week. It was the Hermosa Coffee house. The owner is super hospitable, she works with her daughters. She makes her own pastry. The maple bacon cinnamon roll is the best! The coffee is superb. Back to the house, the backyard is where we spent mornings reading and nights star gazing. The cabin is also central to lots of great South Dakota highlights, Custer state park, Mount Rushmore, the badlands, keystone, rock hunting, and downtown Custer. We would definitely stay again. We found South Dakota to take pride in being caring for others and hospitable. We loved our vacation. We loved our stay in Paula’s family cabin.

We had a wonderful stay at Clint’s home! The area is peaceful and has such a beautiful view. The house itself offers so much space and everything we needed. Clint is on site in a separate building. He was not at all intrusive, but was available if we needed anything. We highly recommend staying here! It was a great, central location for a variety of day trips - Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and on and on…

We enjoyed our stay here. While it was mainly a home base while we explored the area, it definitely served its purpose and was comfortable to stay in. It was clean and spacious. The neighborhood was peaceful, but still close to the town. Raquel was quick with responses to our questions and proactive in reaching out about check in and check out. Also, check out was a breeze. The checklist was short and sweet, and I didn’t feel like I had to do half the cleaner’s jobs for them.

This was my second time staying at this apartment and it was just as good if not better than the last time. Spotless unit and it made me feel right at home!

We enjoyed our stay and loved being able to have our family there with us. It was nice to be able to host family that we had not seen for months. It was very close to The Barn where we celebrated our nephew's wedding. The house was beautiful and we very much enjoyed our stay. We even had the opportunity to walk downtown to shop. The cabin was amazing, very clean very secluded. The hot tub was an extra bonus! The owners we very responsive and very friendly. I would most definitely come back here again! Such a great Easter weekend get-away! :)

Was extremely clean and peaceful. The neighborhood was quiet and it was about an hr drive from Rapid City making it super easy to find things to do. We had a few questions throughout the week and Kattie responded immediately every time. It's hard to find places that accept pets and this was definitely one of the best options we saw and reasonably priced. We would definitely stay again.

Absolutely one of the most excellent places we have ever stayed. The attention to detail in the building of this home is incredible. Such a beautiful setting too. Our family of six was so comfortable, two people on each floor. The deck was perfect for meals and star gazing. Ray’s Roost is top notch. Would love to visit again!

We had a family wedding the weekend we stayed and were able to have a lot of people over for supper. Great outdoor seating and beautiful location! Great beds and overall setup!
