Family-friendly vacation rentals in Coxen Hole

We have been to Roatan many times and love staying at Lighthouse Estates. Ochos Palmas was so comfortable and the beautiful outdoor spaces made our trip. We loved the swings at the Palapa and thr overall spaces that were ample for our family of 9! Island House was also so awesome facilitating an early and late check in-out. We really appreciated the mid-week cleaning service too! We hope to come back to Ochos Palmas soon!

We found Sarah's place to be the lovely quiet tropical get away we were looking for. It was very roomy. A real treat was the community pool in the back yard that us and the neighbor had almost exclusive use of. The pool and properties are well cared for. There was 24/7 security at the street entrance and patrolling the neighborhood. We ate most of our meals in after stocking up at Eldons and enjoyed occasional outings. Relaxing, swimming and snorkeling were our main goals. The property is on a hill and returning from the pier was a bit challenging for two 70+ yo. We often stopped at the cafe after a few hours snorkeling for refreshments or a meal before the short climb. We saw a big variety of tropical fish including Eagle Rays, eels, tangs and Lion Fish. Also large schools of Grunts and Sargeant Majors and a few sea stars. We have been to Roatan many times and loved this quiet retreat. But if you like to explore a car would be necessary or grab a cab or collectivo.

Great stay - gorgeous property.

This is a great place to stay. The big beautiful house , very nice fully equipped kitchen with everything you might need for cooking , big dining tables (indoor and outdoor) , convenient kitchen island, big outdoor grill . Rooms with baths nice and clean. Tropical garden with fruits ans flowers, beautiful swimming pool,sun-loungers,hammock. Outdoor area was nicely landscaped and daily maintained. The Watchmen or better to say security guard watch the property from the dusk till the dawn. The host was very nice and helpful if you need any help or something special ( like our friends wanted to have ceramic instead of Teflon coated pan – they got it a brand new instantly !) There is a special bonus for Ham Radio enthusiast – The fully equipped Ham Radio shack of HQ9X.Two Icom radios with two Alpha 99 amplifiers ,rotary tribander beam 10m-15m-20m and Verticals for 40m, 80m and 160m provides endless pileups 24/7.

We couldn't ask for a better spot! A day before our trip it was impossible for us to find a place to stay that was comfortable and central, and when we came up with this condo, we didn't think twice - and we didn't make a mistake! Fátima and Tirza responded to all our concerns, and hosted us on short notice very warmly. Tirza transported us from the airport / ferry to the condo and gave us some good tips from the island! The place is very comfortable, spacious, clean and above all it is in one of the best areas in Roatan. Oscar, who manages the property during the day, was key to meet all our needs. We are counting the days to return to the paradise island of Honduras, Roatan and stay here again!

Bella Luna offered a fantastic location to snorkel right off of the beach and have many local restaurants within close proximity of the property. Unfortunately during our stay, the two restaurants on either side of the property were temporarily closed, there were man delicious places to eat within a very short walk. The unit itself had everything we needed for our stay. Full kitchen and amenities as well as beach/pool towels. I love that they use a local soap artisan for their guest soaps in all of their properties! Marvin is the caretaker and is very prompt in the morning to clean up the landscape, rake the beach area, and make sure everything is clean for the day. We have stayed at several Roatan Life properties and their staff is always top-notch and offer incredible service. Would highly recommend staying at a Roatan Life property in the future.

Our family enjoyed staying at this beautiful home. The kitchen is well supplied, including a good outdoor grill, which gave us lots of room to cook together. We enjoyed the pool as it book ended our days out at the beach. We enjoy a good walk which is needed to get to the beach. And going through kimpton hotel shortens the walk and gets you to the beach spot that leads you to great snorkelling. we also enjoyed drinks and snacks at the hotel’s restaurant sea cat while aT the beach. We gathered together in the large living room and the beautiful deck while also enjoying the privacy of our own bedrooms. Thanks for a great vacation

My partner and I loved our time at Starfish house. We wanted to get off the beaten path of the more touristy areas of the island and get some privacy. The house is gorgeous. The quality & cleanliness of the home was at a standard found in the US, which is uncommon in Roatan. We enjoyed kayaking through the mangroves & paddleboardng out to snorkel on the reef. We found lots of starfish & conch! Keep in mind: 1)We were under the impression that the beach front/community was private, but it isn't. we arrived to local children climbing on house stuff and trying to come to the top deck while I was sunbathing. The owners took care of this, but locals were still fishing in front of our place & on the dock the entirety of our stay. We adjusted our expectatons & it was fine, but would've been nice to know ahead of time. 2.) Use bug spray. The bugs will get you sooner or later, luckily we've lived in the tropics before so are used to it.

A beautiful and peaceful spot to stay, the pictures don’t do this place justice! We spent most of our time there kayaking, snorkeling and taking in the views, sunsets from the pier are magical! Casa Descanso is charming , and very smartly arranged for its size. The place is very well maintained and all the linen towels and cookware felt new. Staying at a dive shop we decided to try scuba diving with them, which was an amazing experience!

We rented this house coming off of a medical mission in La Ceiba. Walking into this house left the entire team speechless. It’s breathtaking and we are definitely rebooking this place next year. We had a team of 10, it fit us all easily. Matt, the house director was able to get us rides to and from the airport on short notice, and he was very accommodating when our flight was delayed on the way home. I can’t say anything negative about this stay, it was absolutely fantastic. Exceeded our expectations entirely. Thank you for everything!!

Caribe bight is a great area of the island. Serene, quiet (although there was a house being constructed in the area 😁) and very close to the water. Our host was outstanding in providing access to the property, as we arrived a few hours earlier from the airport. The property was just as described and is perfect if you plan on spending your days enjoying outside and relaxing in the evening on the huge porch while grilling your meal! We would definitely stay here again!

Rosalina and Sonny are amazing hosts! They picked us up from the airport and brought us back after our stay. This is above and beyond what many hosts do. The cabin had a clean and cozy feel. Very clean considering the sand and being right on the water. The kayaks were available to use, no fee. We had a lovely stay in paradise. It’s a beautiful location and private.

Our stay at Casa Caribe was great! The view is absolutely breathtaking. 180°+ view of the ocean. It is truly indescribable. the grounds are beautifully done and well-tended with tons of tropical plants and flowers. It was super easy to kayak out to the mangroves and to the reef for snorkeling which was a wonderful experience! The hospitality is top notch too. Chris was super communicative and gave wonderful suggestions for places to visit. He even made reservations for us to make it easier. Banuel is the caretaker and he is so wonderful. He is there for absolutely anything you need at all and he is truly happy to serve guests. He also has great knowledge of the island and tells great stories! They truly take all the stress out of the vacation by having everything you could want or need. And they are willing to get for you anything they may not have. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It was beautiful, restful, relaxing, and fun! If you are going to Roatan, this is the place to stay!

Exceeded our expectations! Staff was wonderful and the view was absolutely breathtaking. It felt very private although also very secure with the staff always on the grounds. The rental car made it very easy to make the decision of staying further away from the more touristy side. We wanted privacy while still being able to enjoy our time and this Airbnb delivered. Would love to someday stay at one of the other villas on the property. 100% recommend! 1 thing to note is to always apply bug spray! With the open concept there is no way for the owners to keep bugs out. You just have to keep the bugs off of you! 10/10

We had a overall great stay at Deb’s place. We are on maternity leave with our new baby and wanted to take our kids somewhere fun while having a break from work. Our 4 year old loved the pool And the beach that was right there. Burlee the property manager was always attentive to our needs and even met us at the airport and helped show us around. The property itself is a little bit dated, and there were just minor things that needed fixing while we were there. Also The road getting there can be pretty rough. I would recommend getting a car with some clearance on it to be able to get in and out. Overall though we loved and enjoyed our time and Deb’s place. I think it was a great fit for our family adventure and I would recommend it to other families.

We had a lovely stay at the house! It was spacious and comfortable for me and my whole family of 10. The house was nicely furnitured, clean and nice. The people were very helpful and respectful. The view is amazing and you will find the place relaxing. Our whole stay was perfect, and I highly recommend staying at the house!

Turtle Beach is amazing!! We absolutely loved how secluded the resort was. Away from the crowds, yet close enough that we could easily walk or water taxi to the busier parts of the beach. Lobster Studio/cabin was also great! Loved the layout, the kitchen was well-stocked, the beach and pools were lovely, and the decor around the facility landed us in paradise for 7 nights. The staff is also amazing! Friendly and helpful, yet they allow guests freedom and independence. Free snorkel gear, free kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, an outdoor community kitchen for bigger meals/food prep. This place truly felt like a community. We met many new friends and we were sad to leave the chill, summercamp vibes. Thank you for everything Paul and Maria :) We had an amazing vacation and will likely have to return in the future!! :)

I had the pleasure of staying at Barbara's bed and breakfast in West End, Roatan, and it was an incredible experience. Barbara is a wonderful host who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and memorable. Her warmth and hospitality truly made me feel at home, and by the end of my stay, she had become a dear friend. The accommodations were lovely—clean, cozy, and perfectly situated away from the bustle of the touristy areas. This peaceful location allowed me to fully appreciate the natural beauty of Honduras while still being close enough to enjoy everything Roatan has to offer. I highly recommend Barbara's beautiful place to anyone visiting West End. If you're looking for a serene and authentic experience, this is it!

A perfect location in the quiet end of West End, Roatan! Just a 3-minute walk to Half Moon Bay, where a terrific selection of restaurants and shops are located. My 2-week stay was wonderful (despite the heat and humidity), and the apartment had all the amenities necessary, from a well-stocked kitchen to extra sheets and towels and even beach towels. Bonus washer&dryer on the first floor. The a/c worked well, and the electricity charges at the end of my stay were very reasonable. Breakfast at Cafe di Palo and dinner at Stowaway Gastropub are just a few minutes' walk farther up the road. I would absolutely stay here again!

Husky Hideaway Apartments are a wonderful place to stay!! Caroline was extremely helpful before and during our stay with helping us organize activities and a driver. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and it was a GREAT location; close enough to walk into town for diving, shopping, and restaurants, but just far enough away that it was very quiet from the “main strip” hustle. We would definitely stay here again! We are not “resort people” and this was perfect and homey and allowed us to really have a comfortable place to come home to after diving and exploring!

Second time at Turtle Beach Dive Resort. Turtle Beach once again did not disappoint. Laurie, Steve, Paul, Carlos, and Maria are great hosts. The area is quiet with a beautiful private beach and a doc. 5 minute boat ride to West Bay or West End. I'll be back soon.

MANGROVE DOCK!… a gem hidden away in West End! We have been to Roatan several times and stayed in different places. We decided to try a place in West End where we could walk to “town”. Mangrove Dock was perfect. A quarter mile walk to the best baleadas! Less than a half mile walk to the other places to eat. Lovely property very well kept unit nice swimming pool and a beautiful dock to look at nature. One big point was the patio, we were on the second floor was shaded most of the day with a lovely lovely breeze. If you want to relax and have a nice place to stay, this is it! Caroline is the perfect host. Very helpful with her instructions and directions and easily available for any questions. Highly recommend! ❤️

Slice of Paradise is exactly as advertised. We stayed in this general location last year and decided to come back at this location. We had seven people and the house worked perfectly. Walkable to many great spots on the beach and very private. The dock was one of our favorite parts of the trip. Snorkeling and sun just a 30 second walk away. Melissa and her recommendations for things to do were spot on. The house stayed surprisingly cool during the day so we really didn’t need to use the A/C very much at all. Overall an amazing trip and highly recommend this house and Melissa!

What an incredible place. It really is a sanctuary. It’s engulfed in foliage and jungle trees. Not to mention the dock leads to the dolphin pen. I woke up every morning and swam next to the dolphins. Then did a lap around the reef. There are a few restaurants walking distance along the beach. The host is very responsive and attentive. Will definitely be coming back here. The only thing that I recommend is have some kind of map as I passed the entrance a bunch of times because it was hard to see
