Kid-friendly vacation rentals in County Westmeath

We needed a place to stay that was local to Ballymahon at short notice for a family occasion. Alisha’s home was just the ticket. Very convenient for Ballymahon and for visiting family in Keenagh, the property was absolutely outstanding. The first thing of note was that the photos of the property do not do it justice. The kitchen is open plan and has everything you could possibly need with quality products throughout. The downstairs shower room is beautiful and fantastically appointed. The living room is very cosy with a huge fireplace. There’s also a very interesting history of Barry which is well worth a read. All the bedrooms were very comfortable (beautiful linen) with the ensuite being particularly useful. Plenty of storage too! Finally Alisha’s communication was absolutely first class. From the time that I booked until check out Alisha was always responsive to queries & was proactive about making sure we were ok. All in all I would not hesitate in recommending & would stay again.

Claire was amazing! so quick to reply and even purchased a new BBQ free I inquired if there was 1!!! now that's service. place looks exactly like the photos. beds were comfy. only noise was the birds and the lambs ☺️. 10 minutes walk to the local pub and shop. 10 minutes in Longford town. thanks again for everything Claire. look forward to visiting again

All I can say is: if you choose someplace else in this area you’re a fool. I stay at Air BnB places frequently and this has been the very best for the price even if the price were double.

Linda was a wonderful host and her home was perfect for our family of eight. We loved being in the center of the country and taking day trips from there. Clean, spacious, and well-equipped, the house was just wonderful!

Saskia's home is just perfect and they're the perfect host! Saskia communicated frequently, clearly and was so friendly. The house was immaculate, and cozy. We booked it so that we could be in Ireland for Christmas with our family. It was twenty minutes from Mullingar - an easy quick drive. The house was so spacious. At no point did we feel on top of each other - as would have in a hotel room. I thoroughly enjoyed waking up and stepping out the front door every morning with a cup of tea to take in the fields. The area is so tranquil and quintessential Ireland. I would recommend this home to EVERYONE!!! Anytime we go back to Ireland we will be booking Saskia's home!!! WE LOVED IT!

The home is exactly as shown and described. Sissy met us there upon arrival, explained the heating and water heaters to us, there was even milk, coffee and snacks already there. I’ve never stayed at a home so clean! The location is perfect and all of Athlone is walkable from here. I would absolutely stay here on my next visit to Ireland , thank you for everything

Lorna’s house is absolutely perfect if you’re attending a wedding in Mount Druid as it is walking distance. It is extremely clean and comfy. There was also bacon, sausages, eggs, milk, bread etc left for breakfast was a lovely surprise and very appreciated. Would definitely recommend to others.

We had a lovely stay at Linda’s appartment ,very spacious and very welcoming .Linda even offered to take us into the hotel for the wedding we were attending !Would stay again in a heartbeat

Peaceful location so very relaxed. Plenty of space for our family (two adults and four children). Good to have a kitchen to use.

Great spot for a family of four. Bigger than we expected and hosts greeted us on arrival with a lovely welcome. Plus, my son was thrilled to see cows the next morning.

A large, bright and pleasant accommodation: room for our son, very comfortable bedding, a very well heated farmhouse. Being able to watch the cows being milked and visiting the farm was a plus. Convenient and clean, no frills: accommodation exactly as we needed it, to take a 2-day break, in the countryside, during our 2-week Irish road trip.

Norbert greeted us and was very friendly and showed us where everything was and added bonus of ingredients to make a fry up. The place was lovely and clean very comfortable beds fully equipped kitchen and washing machine and tumble dryer. Couple of minutes walk to pub and convinence store and about 10 min drive to town. Highly recommended staying here for peace and quiet.

Another fabulous stay at Blaithin’s flat! I never get tired of that view of the Shannon River. Great bed, nice linens, everything clean, convenient, and relaxing. Thank you!!

Eileen’s place was a perfect home away from home for my family, very comfortable beds. Eileen supplied milk sugar tea/coffee & even some treats in the cupboard which was a lovely touch.

I had a super great time at Niamh's place!! They were super helpful in getting there and back and were very communicative. The place was super cute and clean, and the pets were adorable and very very sweet. I would totally stay here again and can't recommend it enough!!

Declan was very helpful and flexible. He responded in a timely manner and gave us plenty of recommendations on food and things to do outside of the town. He personally met with us upon arriving and gave us a tour of the apartment. It was a nice and quiet place, definitely recommend!

I mentioned in my booking that I was there was a family funeral and the first thing I saw was a sympathy card and some flowers. So so kind and thoughtful. And the day before we were leaving Shelagh sent me a message saying I could check out anytime I like as there was no one immediately booked after me. I was there for very sad reasons and Shillelaghs kindness was so appreciated by myself and family members. Thank you Shelagh

The most perfect accommodation and such a lovely, welcoming host! The place is immaculate in terms of cleanliness and Eileen had such lovely small touches on arrival that made our stay just perfect. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you’d need to feel right at home. There’s taxis and local services provided for you so you don’t need to go searching yourself.
