Kid-friendly vacation rentals in County Louth

stayed at Caroline's to celebrate a friend's upcoming nuptials. We enjoyed all the amenities, hosting yoga on the astro, an evening in the hot tub and a dance class on the patio. we ate in with some catering and the basics were all there with lies of kitchenware. Caroline had very kindly set up an afternoon tea for our arrival which was a delightful surprise.

This converted barn is in a great location, just a few minutes drive from the local village (Omeath - with a great pub which is child and dog friendly!). Also well located if visiting Carlingford. The house itself has everything you need and is set in expansive gardens (perfect for our dog). Samantha & Terry are great hosts - very welcoming and we had great communication from the moment we booked. They were very accommodating for our 1.5yr old son, with highchair, travel cot and toys provided. Highly recommend their place - hope to stay again soon.

Loved our stay here! Beds were comfortable, views were amazing. Yeah there was some noise from the bars on Saturday night, but we just played white noise on a phone and fell right to sleep. Bring an eye mask, unless you love waking up with the sun! I did manage to catch sunrise one morning and it was very pretty.

We had the best time at Michelle's place! The outdoor space was incredible & the views were unreal. The little cottage was everything you would want from a traditional Irish cottage & all the little extra touches really made it feel like home. Thank you!

Absolutely exceptional stay—better than expected in every way! This Airbnb was a hidden gem. Tucked away in a super private location with breathtaking views of the Cooley Mountains, it offered the perfect mix of tranquility and comfort. From the moment we arrived, thoughtful touches made us feel right at home—everything was clearly designed with care. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms felt like something out of a wonderful hotel. The kitchen was fully equipped with every appliance and utensil we could possibly need, making meals a breeze. The sauna was a wonderful bonus, and the abundance of windows and skylights filled the space with natural light and let the views pour in. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly, highly recommended—this place is a standout!

This was such a great stay. You definitely need a car for this place, we had an issue with our car and Ann was so incredibly helpful with sorting it out. The kids had a blast. It was the perfect chill/ relaxing holiday we hoped for. I personally loved that it wasn't too close to town, however you can get everything you want in the shops 10 mins away. I usually get lazy with writing reviews, but I honestly couldn't wait for to write this one. Thank you so much for the kindness. We truly had an amazing time

This airbnb was the perfect location in Dundalk. It was walkable to the town center. Easy to get to the shops and restaurants. Plus near the bus station. I highly recommend Helen’s house. It’s perfect for tourists who are new to Dundalk. And perfect for locals visiting Dundalk. I will definitely would stay here again in the near future. This was very cosy home. Offered a lot of “home sweet home” vibes.

Great hosts and interesting accommodations. Lots to do outside in the summer, more limited in the summer but still beautiful place for walking and exploring. Great place for a Christmas family get together

I had a great stay at this quiet, clean, and well-located apartment—perfect for a solo trip or working visit. The space had everything I needed: a comfy bed, a nice bath, and a solid kitchen setup with extras like a washer and air fryer. Check-in was smooth, and I felt totally safe and comfortable. The location was super convenient—just minutes from the train station, close to shopping, downtown, the River Boyne, and handy bus routes. Suzanne was a great host—friendly, responsive, and professional. This no-fuss, peaceful spot is ideal if you're looking for a calm, well-kept place with excellent access to everything. Would happily stay again!

Very convenient location, perfect for a weekend in Carlingford

The property is really nice and the location was excellent. The check in was super easy and the instructions were clear for finding the property. We had a great stay and enjoyed the local area.

We stayed here for a month and felt very comfortable. The place has everything you need and is conveniently located near the town center and bus station. The hosts are very guest-friendly. I would highly recommend staying here to everyone.

This was my 2nd time staying here and will always be my go to AirBnB in Ireland. I travel to Ireland for work and could stay anywhere but I don’t even look now. I guess this isn’t as much a review as a recommendation. You’re about a mile to the town center and shopping (and it’s a beautiful walk). I stopped counting at 10 good mornings from the locals on my walk to the office. There are two amazing takeaways less than 100 yards from the house and an amazing sit down restaurant that’s maybe 400 yards away, The Black Bull. We had easy access to Dublin without paying Dublin prices and we were able to return to the quiet neighborhood where this house is located. Then soak those sore legs in the hugs tub! It’s also a short drive to the coast from Drogheda. The house is spotless and you just feel so at home. Lorna is an amazing host who always goes out of her way to make the stay is everything I need it to be. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Lisa is a 10 star host! Her garage apartment (as I would call it in the US) was my favorite place to stay on my trip around Ireland. It is well appointed and very well maintained. It’s central to all the County Meath ancient sites. Lisa was warm and welcoming and very helpful and knowledgeable with places to eat and see. Her dogs are adorable and we even admired Fred the robot lawn mower. I highly recommend this unit and would definitely stay here again!

lovely convenient little spot, ideal for a drink next door

I had a lovely stay at Stacey’s apartment. From the moment I arrived, she was extremely pleasant, welcoming, and helpful—making me feel at home. The apartment itself was spotless - clean, tidy, and clearly looked after with care and attention to detail. Stacey went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed and was always available to answer any questions I had about the check-in process and local area. Her recommendations for coffee and places to eat in Bettystown were so helpful. I would thoroughly recommend anyone to stay with Stacey. She creates such a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Dolmen Apartment is exactly as advertised and you can't make a better choice in the Carlingford Loch area. The pictures are 100% aligned with the reality of a beautifully provisioned and sparkling clean apartment. The nearby market/fuel station met 90% of our basic and small grocery needs, and Rosa's Bistro just around the corner has wonderful breakfast and lunch. I did some cooking and the kitchen had everything I needed. Mary started us out with milk, juice, tea, coffee, croissants, and homemade jam - so wonderful after a long international trip. The bed was "just right" with lovely linens. The bathroom is spacious as are all the rooms. We had difficulty locking the front door and Mary was immediately available with help, including a willingness to drive an hour to attend to the problem. Luckily it was "user error" and resolved without that being needed. Mary communicated with us during our stay, checking in to be sure we had what we needed. A genuine 5-star experience!
