Cottage vacation rentals in College Township

The cottage was very nice for me and my girlfriend to get away for the week!

We really enjoyed are weekend at Jen's. We had everything we needed and communication with our host was very good. Got us all the information on time. I was a little concerned if it was going to be hot and not having central air, but the window air conditioners and ceiling fans kept us very cool. It was nice sleeping with the windows open as it was cool overnight. Having a TV in one of the bedrooms was nice and there were a couple streaming services to keep us entertained. We did use the hot tub and it was very relaxing. Fits 2 adults well. The only issue we had was I think we were supposed to keep it on, so the water would stay hot, unfortunately it was a too cool on our second night. Location was good for getting to all the trains watching spots in the Altoona area. We'll be back and hope to stay here again in the future.

this is truly a great place to stay if in the area and looking . it is a beautiful home with all the amenities we could hope for . we were in town for the week on a job in Altoona and this was the perfect relaxing mtn when the job was done ea day. the property mgr is great as well- extremely helpful . thanks for the hospitality , I will def refer anyone traveling the area to give your place a stay

My boyfriend and I decided we wanted to get away for weekend and ended up staying here! It’s very private which is exactly what I wanted and it is decent sized. It unfortunately rained the entire time we were there, but we found quite a bit to do in the area. The host was extremely helpful with recommendations of things to do. I highly recommend having suv to be able to access the property better. We will definitely be coming back again sometime for sure as 2 days was not enough!!

The Blue Cottage was so cozy and comfortable. Very clean and cozy. Hope to stay again next time in the area. Great host - great communications and hospitality.

A cozy in-law apartment in a detached former garage. In the country, but only 10 minutes or so from downtown Harrisburg, and easy access to the interstate. Hosts were very friendly and responsible, helping me right awaywhen I accidentally locked myself out. Very pet-friendly. A great stay.

Super cozy place! It was very clean and was the perfect size for my dad, my sister and I! Beautiful porch with lots of flowers and a big yard! Host is friendly and responsive.

Very peaceful. Made our trip very easy being close to the event we were attending.

Our stay here was extremely wonderful, the home was clean and comfortable. It had everything we could possibly need down to fishing rods. ( you should add a tackle box so that guest can add to it before they leave.) The host was very responsive and accommodating, she suggested ideas and activities during our stay. We have to come back to Carlie Pa a few more times and hope to have this place again.

The cottage is adorable and was perfect for our party. We loved the area and enjoyed our morning coffee sitting on the back patio. The hosts were so nice and helpful with any questions we had about the property and local recommendations!

I stayed with my wife at Aunt Susie’s Sportsman’s cottage for a three day weekend to bike and hike Raystown Lake. The location is perfect for those wanting to ride the Allegrippis trail system or enjoy the marina, with the trails being just a few minutes down the road. The cottage itself was nice, perfect for a few people and had everything as advertised. We also really enjoyed the guide to local activities that was posted in the house. I worked remotely from the cottage and tested the WiFi at over 250 Mbps which was certainly more than enough for my needs. If I had to provide a criticism, we did read in reviews that the water a bit of a smell to it and definitely noticed it ourselves — I would describe it as “rusty”. We didn’t find it overly strong or off-putting but we did bring our own water to drink, that said it was sufficient for washing dishes and taking showers.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Bird House + the Hawk Watch! Amazing views and comfortable house!

This was the perfect spot for a long weekend visit to Raystown Lake for mountain biking the Allegrippis Trails. The hosts were prompt in answering questions and providing recommendations! Highly recommended!

This was a perfect home for our needs - spacious, clean, updated decor, everything we needed and more, with cozy personal touches like sweet treats and coffee supplies, and a personal note to welcome us and introduce themselves. Deanna was responsive and truly did all she could to make our stay enjoyable. We would highly recommend!

Quaint little cottage, right on the creek bank! A little tricky maneuvering from the parking spot down the slope to the cottage (especially at night), but the two handrails on the steps and the lighted path make it doable. If you have two vehicles and need to park at the second lot, bring a flashlight as there is no street lighting. Very quiet neighborhood!

Peaceful getaway in a cute, clean cottage with great view and all the amenities we needed. The host & people we met in town were friendly, and it was very walkable, especially with the paved trail from one end to the other. The location on the lake was perfect for water activities & sunsets.

Our family was greeted warmly by Ronald upon our arrival, and it was evident that the property is immaculately kept. Clean, spacious, and quiet, this is a perfect spot to stay if your family is visiting PSU and doesn’t want the constrains of a hotel. It’s just minutes away from the college, and the cottage is on a beautiful sprawling piece of land. We will definitely consider staying here instead of a hotel room when we visit our son at PSU. We appreciated how Ronald thanked us for staying and remembered our son’s name and wished him the best of luck in his college decision. (Oh, and Ronald, our son decided on PSU!)

My family stayed at the Creekside Cottage for a long weekend. The setting was beautiful! My favorite part was sitting at the creek every morning with my cup of coffee. It was a hidden gem. Stephanie was an amazing host, welcoming my family with smores, local restaurant suggestions, and many games. When we had an unexpected power outage, Stephanie rushed right over to make sure we had candles, flashlights, and were set for our old fashion cabin night. Highly recommended Creekside Cabin to anyone looking for a great family or friends getaway.

We stayed one night in this cabin while visiting for a wedding. It was a very unique experience for us! The room is pretty small, just enough room for a bed and a small kitchenette. The sauna was a really cool amenity and I liked that the outdoor shower was in the sauna room. The toilet is in a separate little room outside of the main cabin. I don’t think there was any heat in that space so I think it would be pretty cold in the winter months. The cabin has a heater in it so even though the night we stayed was cold, the room was very warm! There was also a tub and blackstone grill available but we didn’t have the time to use either. Overall this is a cool and quirky little cabin! I would definitely come back for a short stay, but if I was in the area for a week I’d pick something a little roomier.
