Debra and her daughter are lovely and friendly. The cottage is idyllic and so peaceful. The walk to and from the car is lovely in the morning looking over the fields in the distance. The linen and towels were all lovely and fresh and the hot tub was kept immaculate throughout our stay . It was chilly in the evenings and the fire was cosy. We will definitely return . We had a lovely stay and Anne welcomed us and gave us all the information we needed. The premesis were spotlessly clean and very well equipped with more than we needed. It was easily located despite being in a wonderful location in the Devon countryside with tremendous views. Anne kindly provided some provisions and her homemade bread and cake were superb. We recommend this location and would certainly return.

The Chicken House was the perfect couples getaway, private and peaceful but within an hours drive of a ton of activities. The wood fired hot tub was a great touch, would definitely recommend trying it! Will definitely look to go back if I'm in need of a holiday!

We enjoyed an overnight stay on the top floor of their lovely home. We only wished we could have had a few more days to explore the beautiful countryside! Christina met us at check in, and showed us up the stairs to our suite (a little tricky, as we're 60+, but actually fine at my slow pace). It is a lovely space with superb views over the garden and church. The sunset was spectacular!! The kitchen had everything you need to prepare a meal, which is our preferred routine when traveling. And the fresh croissants, butter, milk, juice and jams as well as little treats were very thoughtful. The suite was private & cozy, but we did need to go through the main house, which wasn't a problem at all. Christina and Anthony were friendly and gracious hosts, and we enjoyed our brief chats with them. They respected our privacy. The linens were crisp and clean, and the bed comfy. After check-out we walked to the church and enjoyed the village. We hope to return for a longer visit next time.
