Family-friendly vacation rentals in Cherokee

It was a great place to celebrate our daughter's graduation and make new memories with family. The cabin was clean and well equipped, and the magnificent views topped off the experience!

We loved staying at ‘Smawlie’! The view was unbeatable and it felt so nice to take a break from every day hustle & bustle. I personally loved not having cell service at the cabin. It was spotless, had all of the listed amenities, and was exactly as described. Though tucked far back into the ‘middle of nowhere’, getting to the cabin via Mike’s provided instructions was easy. Not having service in the area, this was very important. We opted to hike up to the cabin despite having 4WD just because it is THAT steep and gravel. The weather was grey and a little cloudy when we arrived but the view did not disappoint. In the morning we got to watch the fog lift and the sun come through. The only grievance I had was some trouble with the hot tub. When we arrived at 3pm after a cold and rainy hike, the hot tub was cold. We followed the directions provided to “reset” and heat it up. we did not get to use it until the morning, and only for a short bit. Luckily, Mike let us check out a bit late

DON’T miss your chance to experience the magic of the River Love barn. Kangee’s EXCEPTIONAL hospitality throughout our time in her home set the tone for the entirety of our stay. Her attentiveness & genuine warmth made us feel right at home. The beauty of this property is truly beyond words. While the photos online are stunning, they don’t fully capture the enchanting atmosphere that envelops you as soon as you step onto the grounds. Our favorite spots were the clawfoot tub, perfectly nestled in a private, serene area of the property & the outdoor hammock within the screened in back deck. Kangee truly brought the outside in with her thoughtful design. Even on a rainy day- the sky lights during a storm that had passed through was such a reminder of the cozy atmosphere that permeates the barn. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful getaway or a relaxing family trip, the River Love Barn is a hidden gem that I cannot recommend enough. We left feeling refreshed & inspired, with hearts full.

Had a guys weekend. We started with 4 people and it got moved up to 6 guys. Was responsive with the change. Place was exactly how it was described in the photos. We liked that it was away from everything. Views were great. Highly recommend staying here.

This was probably the cleanest Airbnb I've ever stayed in, including the hot tub. It's cozy, comfortable, everything works great, it was easy to find and really peaceful. I would definitely return again for another getaway, we had a great time and really recommend it!

Drove through the night from Chicago, let’s just say I’m glad we arrived in the morning with daylight. This cabin is definitely a cabin in the mountains. Great view, great spot to get away. The roads getting in definitely will get your blood pumping, and your motor reving. But once you arrive, it is all worth it. David did a wonderful job with all the directions and also his accommodations. From booking to enjoying, it was great. Thank you!!!

This beautiful cabin is exactly what we needed for a long weekend get away! The hosts were so friendly and responsive. Everything is accurately described and the views are amazing! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need. Beds were very comfortable and the entire cabin was extremely clean. You are just far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness of nature but yet close to restaurants and things to do! I highly recommend this beautiful cabin. We will definitely stay here again!!

This home was perfect for our family of 3 teens and 3 adults. It was spacious and clean, we wanted for nothing. All this with a very accommodating, understanding and hospitable owners, who let us stay even after Helene's destruction to their bridge. Thank you for the wonderful stay this Thanksgiving 2024.

This is our second stay here. The space is clean and simple, with plenty of room in the kitchen to cook. The view and peaceful surroundings are more than worth the drive up the mountain.

What a view from the back porch! The cabin is very well equipped. The drive in can be a bit rough. But very worth it. The cabin was very comfortable for our family to stay in. The falls behind the cabin are worth the trek down the mountain.

We loved it! Charming, cozy and clean. Loved sitting on the porch, watching hummingbirds feed. The whole family enjoyed exploring the beautiful yard. Perfect place!

The accommodation is in a spectacular location nestled right in the foothills of America’s most iconic parks. Even with its reasonable price, the room is identical to that you’d find at a 5 star hotel. The view of Kuwohi from the porch and bedroom was breathtaking! All the amenities provided were perfect and Matt even left us a couple of movie night snacks which was so nice! One of the coziest beds we’ve ever slept in as well.

Sheng and Mary’s cabin was a wonderful get away for our family! Our favorite part: the view off the back deck! The pictures you see are exactly what you get. It rained one day while we were there and watching the “Smoke” over the mountains was beautiful. The most important part of any vacation home to me is cleanliness, especially bathrooms and the kitchen. The cabin was VERY clean. The instructions from the hosts about the cabin, directions, departure, and other info they provided was all very clear and detailed. Although there are neighbors near by you can’t see their cabins aside from part of one deck and it felt very secluded which was wonderful! The amount of windows allowing you to see the mountains from every room was beautiful. My kids loved the Pac-Man game, pool table and assortment of books. The kitchen had everything we needed for 4 adults and 2 kids to cook and enjoy ourselves easily. The cabin was wonderful and the hosts were very helpful with the questions I did have!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and absolutely loved this cabin! There was so much to do not to far away but also just having different activities to do at the house were great! We will definitely be back again and stay here! I would recommend this cabin to anyone.

This was my third stay at Glimpse of Heaven, and it most certainly won’t be my last. The name truly says it all. The view is absolutely unmatched. One of my favorite things about this cabin is its location. It’s quiet and serene, far removed from the crowds near Gatlinburg but still just a short drive away if you want to explore the area. It’s also perfectly situated near Cades Cove and the Foothills Parkway, which makes it ideal for scenic drives. The cabin itself is always clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Shirley, the host, is always quick to respond. She makes every stay easy and enjoyable. I couldn’t recommend Glimpse of Heaven more highly—it’s become my go-to escape in the Smokies.

Great place, walking distance to some of the big attractions in Gatlinburg and the strip.

The cabin was perfect!! The pictures don’t do it justice and it was perfect for us. The instructions for checkin were prompt, simple and clear. The checkout tasks were very reasonable. We didn’t encounter any problems whatsoever but did message when leaving and received quick response. This is not doubt the best cabin and host I’ve had here. We will definitely return.
