We loved our stay. Aida and Dinora were both amazing. Palmares is a great little city as well. Will stay there again for sure.

Loved Casa Hormiga! Cute, quaint, hut was the perfect place to start my time in Costa Rica! So sad I missed out on one night with airline delays. Jose is so friendly and a wonderful host! I opted for a craniosacral massage service and to go see the 500 year old tree up the street. It was a glorious day! He also gave other wonderful recommendations of things to do/see in the area.

We just want to express how truly special our month-long stay at Finca La Petisa was. It provided me a wonderful opportunity to work remotely, thanks to the reliable internet, and for my husband to do much birdwatching, tallying over 80 species of birds over the month’s stay. Leaving behind the long winter in Canada already felt refreshing, but having a breathtaking view of the valley from my window as I worked uplifted me constantly. Meanwhile, my husband discovered new bird species every day he wandered the Finca. We did have to make some adjustments to our new environment, but those proved minor and were more than compensated by the beauty of the locale and the country (thank you Juan for recommending Tesoro Escondido; really enjoyed). Thank you so much, Nancy and Juan, for sharing your cherished chalet with us. We genuinely wish you all the best and hope to return to your lovely place in the future!

it was a wonderful part of our Costa Rican trip to stop here for 2 days. the cottage is as described, rustic, one with nature and surrounded by a beautiful setting and animals! Everything was clean and we really enjoyed the tour Alexander gave our family, which allowed us to learn more about a way of life that is respectful of nature and the resources we share.
