Vacation rentals in Cave Creek Canyon

We had a lovely stay at the Scale House while visiting family in Willcox. We especially enjoyed the patio each morning while drinking coffee. The house was squeaky clean, comfortable and spacious. We felt very much at home!

The house was good. Some dust/cobwebs and a couple of dirty dishes but overall pretty clean. 30 minute drive to Wilcox and about 45 minutes to Chiricahua. As long as you are prepared to be out there, it’s great! Very quiet and nice. The host asks for additional pet fee per night, which we’ve never had at another air b&b.

Such a spectacular setting! Sitting on Joy and Ray's patio terrace is like having Yosemite valley all to yourself, an unbelievable treat. The cabin is lovely and the location is perfect. Joy and Ray are welcoming, relaxed hosts. The poet Mary Oliver famously asked, "what will you do with your one wild and precious life?" . Joy and Ray provide a pretty remarkable answer to that question, that is an inspirational model to the rest of us. Natural history and historical interpretation, science and education, photography and exhibit construction, music, rodeos...a rich tapestry they wove exactly how they wanted, with creativity and science and collaboration running through it all. We can't wait to return to the canyon views and the conversations on the patio terrace.

The Hacienda was the perfect place to call home for our first birding trip to Cave Creek Canyon. The space was clean, comfortable and cozy. We saw lots of birds and wildlife right on the property. And Bill is a knowledgeable and gracious host.

The cabin is peaceful and private and in a fantastic location if you want to hang out in and around Portal. As everyone says, the big porch with its expansive view of the mountain, and the many bird feeders which bring in a dozen or more species ( and javalinas!) and the dark skies are really special. The cabin itself is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals but the Portal Cafe is a fun place- next time we’ll bring fewer groceries! Steve was responsive when we texted with a minor question.

What an incredibly peaceful, private and beautiful place this is. Every positive review ever written is so true, and then some. This is perhaps the cleanest Airbnb we have ever stayed in. Spotless. Pristine. We appreciated the dark skies and star gazing early in the a.m. Can't remember the last time I was able to see the Milky Way Galaxy. If it was possible to give Heather's place a 10 star rating, I would do so. The proximity to Chiricahua National Monument is ideal and the drive there is just sooooo calming and beautiful. When we say, "Home Away from Home," we really mean it! This was our 6th? 7th? 8th? stay at Indian Ridge. It's just that kind of spot - we've made it an annual treat. We went a bit later this year, and while it was still a little chilly, it was perfect for a fire in the fire pit, hiking, star gazing, bird watching, cooking, and generally relaxing - which is always our goal. Kathy and Mike, thanks again - never disappointed!

We loved this place! It was so beautiful and peaceful. Kellye even sent us a picture of the sunset the day before we arrived. We highly recommend it.

The hut was very well appointed inside and the views looking out the large sliding glass door were peaceful and serene. This was a great spot to come back to after touring several of the wineries and just relaxing with a bottle and some food. We look forward to our next visit out to the huts with our family.
