Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Caen

Gathered as a family of 8. Given the gloomy and sometimes rainy weather, the indoor pool was used a lot. Close to the landing beaches and Pegasus Bridge. Tastefully furnished and decorated house. Suitable for 8 people. Very nice rental.

We spent three nights at Aurelie and Alessandros Airbnb. We were greeted by Aurelie welcoming us with crisp, fresh local apple juice and biscuits. The place was a nice quiet location to retreat to after busy days of sightseeing around Normandy and its landing beaches. In the village there was a well stocked supermarket and a great bakery (with the most amazing bread!) The accommodation was quiet, private and secluded as well as clean, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen had a great dishwasher, fridge and appliances. Our favourite area was the bathroom, so spacious and modern, yet cosy, with a really nice hot shower. The bedroom had plenty of storage space for clothes and the bed was comfy. The heating in the radiators wasn’t on, but we were told to just ask if we felt we’d like it on (in hindsight a little bit of heat could have made especially bed linen feel less cool to get in at night). All in all we feel we had a very comfortable and restful stay. Thank you to our lovely hosts!

We were pleasantly surprised by the little community there and especially the restaurant when we arrived rather late. Our hosts were very accommodating and pleasant. We would definitely rebook.

Hidden among the woods is this gem. The former cowshed has been converted into a cozy accommodation where everything you need is available. The roses bloomed exuberantly and there was a vase with roses from our own garden inside. At the pond is a lovely terrace where you can see the frogs playing hide and seek among the water lilies.

We were a group of pensioners on a photographic trip. The accommodation was perfect for our requirements. The beds were extremely comfortable and had some of the best night's sleep I've had for sometime. The location is perfect for our requirements, within an easy driving distance of the Normandy Coast, which is what we required. It is only a short distance to the city centre of Caen and quite a few restaurants within easy driving distance. The accommodation is on a equine farm but is perfectly clean and tidy. If I could mention one small detail as I wonder if we could've been provided with larger bath towels as we were all gentleman of a certain build. Gael was an exceptional host and very helpful when we sought his assistance. Would certainly recommend this as a base for touring Normandy.

Excellent place, with a friendly welcome, a very clean, bright, warm apartment, with special touches such as flowers on the tables. Very comfortable bed, absolute quiet, very beautiful garden (which we could not enjoy, unfortunately, being only passing through). Largely up to the description on the website. Only regret: not being able to stay!

What a wonderfully peaceful place to stay. It was great sitting outside in the morning having a coffee listening to the birds singing and the church bells ringing. It was also nice to have access to the gardens with a swimming pool, tennis court and table tennis. We were holidaying to visit the various D-Day beaches and museums which were all within a short drive. The property is well appointed with everything you could need. Arnaud & Jessica were friendly and helpful and would respond to any questions within minutes.

Having come for the long weekend of the ascension to recharge with my daughter, I absolutely do not regret it. The place is quiet, peaceful and soothing, which is a big change from the city. Marie-Claire is a golden host, a host who is interested in these travelers and who is not there only to rent her property. She was responsive from my arrival until my departure. Not to mention, the complimentary breakfast on Sunday morning, a nice touch.

The stay was perfect, in line with my expectations.

Ingrid was very responsive and easy to communicate with anytime we had questions. The apartment was extremely clean and well organized. It was easy walk to train station and in the heart of many bakeries, restaurants and stores. A perfect choice for a stay in Caen.

A very nicely decorated apartment that is super well located in the pedestrian streets of Caen. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby. This is the second time we have stayed at Thibaud and Marine's and we will be back. The decor is very nice. The apartment is well equipped and very clean. Recommended.

As others have mentioned this is an excellent holiday flat and superb base from which to explore Normandy and the beautiful city of Caen. The flat is clean, comfortable and is very well equipped for self-catering though the nearby town center bars and restaurants may tempt you out at little more that you planned. Highlights include secure and convenient parking, excellent bathroom and shower, comfortable bed and the bonus of a lovely private garden to kick back while sampling the local calvados in the evening. As mentioned the flat is very central with a five minute walk into the center for fresh bread and croissants in the morning. Caen itself is full of surprises with beautiful churches and abbeys combined with a very laid back atmosphere. Though we did not meet Christine her ongoing communication was both discrete and charming. Book you wont regret it. 5 stars all round

Cozy unique apartment with beautiful view to an old church. It is also in a beautiful shopping street with pubs and restaurants. The aparment itself has everything you need, and you get alot of value for your money. The owner answers quick and with clear instructions. Would definitely stay here again!

Things we loved about Robin’s apartment: the Chateau immediately across the street. During the day, the Chateau intrigues. At night, it attracts, with its beautiful lighting. The Vaugeaux neighborhood is a mere 5 minute walk away to take you back in time. Plus, so many restaurants to choose from! Oh and the Twisto is just out the door! Robin included helpful suggestions for the Beaches, restaurants, and walking tours. Robin was also accommodating of our changing schedule. We hope to visit again!

Good location in the centre of town close to everything (including Juno Beach Centre). On the third floor so lots of stair climbing. Apartment is small but cute and the sofa bed is very comfortable.

Pleasant accommodation in a residential area that remains close to the center of Caen (15-20 min walk). Clear instructions from the start, and the host is super responsive and available for any questions 👍

Nice, functional and quiet studio. The bed is particularly comfortable. Communication with Fleur was very easy and she welcomed me with great kindness.

Accommodation fully compliant and even beyond, David thought of a whole bunch of practical amenities. Ideally located, feet in the water! Quiet! And great bedding (which is rare on a sofa). Would definitely stay again.

This apartment is located in an old building with a somewhat dilapidated entry and a long, old staircase up to climb before reaching it, so it would not suit guests with reduced mobility. Once up there, however, it was very fresh and modern and the little outside terrace was a boon.

Sandrine's appartment was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Very handy to the supermarket, easy to bike into the city and we appreciated having a secure place in the cellar to store our bicycles.
